      @RR-ue4im The entire point of the post is that McDaniels scheme buried Hunter Renfrow. Your reply doesnt make any sense unless McDaniels gets rehired somehow and utilizes Renfrow.

    On another note: as a retired scout I can say that you give the best QB analysis on the net. Chase Daniel started a channel and is doing pretty good, but he doesn't give as much meat and potatoes as you do. Keep doing what you do bro. I love it. I'm from Australia so while I've been watching NFL a bit the past few years, I certainly can't pretend I understand a lot of the tactics, plays or schematic elements that go into plays, but your videos like this do an absolutely fantastic job of breaking this stuff down to where even a newbie like me can understand what you're explaining.

    • @allanchino35
      @allanchino35 Рік тому

      As an American I’d be interested to know how you think American football compares to rugby and Austrian football in terms of watchability and complexity. I love watching American football and trying to understand the chess game that is going on but it definitely has its faults; mainly how much downtime there is and the amount of commercials

    • @marcbarrington1897
      @marcbarrington1897 Рік тому +1

      @@allanchino35 I think there's definitely a more "strategic" chess element to NFL compared to Rugby/Australian Rules Football, mostly because it's start/stop and that allows you to break the game down to individual moments more than a sport that's constant action/movement. Not to say there aren't tactics/strategy's in the Australian footballs, but it's definitely dialed down, especially because there's less players involved and there's not separate defensive/offensive units. In that regard that is one thing I do struggle with as I find the offensive stuff way easier to pick up then the defensive stuff when watching games!
      That downtime is definitely one of my bigger pet peeves with the NFL though, but I signed up for the Redzone this year which I really enjoy cause it's like 8 games and just action, action, action.

    Once upon a time, a rookie arrived at Steelers training camp. The coach took one look at him, and before he could unpack in a locker, he was cut. Never even gave him a chance to make the team. He wrote a letter to the Colts suggesting they consider giving him a try out. By the end of the season, Johnny Unitas had the starting job.
    When McDaniels evaluated Aidan as not good enough for a starter--I remembered that story.

    Hey, JT- great vid and thanks. What you might not know, unless you watched the telecast live is that, at HT, DA17 went straight to Antonio Pierce for a chat and I've little doubt that the gist of the chat was "I don't care if I'm doubled, throw me the ball, I can make a play anyway." I think is a little bit of a problem that AOC has to contend with.. some of him "not recognising," the shading over the top of Adams may not have been him not recognising it, but rather him having been told to ignore it.. if so? Clearly that's a problem! I mean, Raiders can teach him to recognise the shaded coverage but...

    Fair assessment JT. Obviously they got 4 days since the firings and they had been in a terrible place mentaly and regarding the coaching, confidence, etc. It was a step in the right direction. Holding judgement on AOC I will be glad to see just improvement from game to game. He did that from the Chargers game. Also glad they kept 13 just so you can call him "New guy" lmao. The thing that was most encouraging is they distributed the ball to everyone its going to help in the coming games.

      Because it was all scripted just like the odd makers had the raiders winning 6 games last year and odd makers on josh mcdanials to be the first coach to be fired that doesn't happen by accident and o connell will be average when its all said and done..your QB has to be a QB that can help an o line when its not having a good day or the running game like the elite qbs do move out of the pocket and let wrs get open if not right away.. Zach Wilson had 240 yards and a td against the giants so if zach is so bad with a terrible o line what makes you think o connell did anything special he will be more like the chargers game when he plays great elite qbs and teams...until the raiders get a super star qb that can elevate a bad team its going be what you have seen for years mediocre plus if you haven't noticed how the politics of wokeness from espn and black qbs how it trickles right down on to the field they push the stars and narratives its what they are setting up as the next stars they will not even remember o connell he will be just another average joe to the NFL and then play like it...

    The new guy was the best acquisition at the trade deadline. Aidan O'Connell can make a living if new guy is his 3rd option. Sometimes new guy needs to be his 1st option. I know what the new coach said but the new coach isn't exactly too bright. Just because you haven't been getting Adams the ball enough doesn't mean you force feed things. You've got to be much more clever than that. To be fair to Jacobs and the Raiders OL in general, they made major changes by zone blocking. They need more practice. Jacobs has tree trunks for legs. He can truck a DE/LB. Watching film does explain a lot more. In RT my impression was Aidan can't be getting his receivers killed. He's inexperienced though. He has to see more and watch more film.

    The reason we keep sliding to the right is because our RG is the weak link in the O line. There is a reason why pass protection looked a lot better this game compared to previous games. However in a vacuum I can totally understand why your saying the things you are.
    Honest question (I doubt you will see this), if your RG was considered a liability in the pass game would you call protections the same way? Or is there a better way to compensate for the RG?

    I wonder how much of the failures in execution offense were due to players tuning out the coaching for the first half of the season. Will have to monitor this week to week and see if they start to improve.

    Great stuff man. Thoughts on the brand new play caller? Being this was his first ever game, how would you grade it?

    Honestly to me it seems like the system they were left with from McDaniels just doesn't resonate with them. it doesn't seem like they know where to go on offense. I'm hoping Hardegree can chance up things now that he's taken over and get them all on the same page. We have the talent, just need to clean up the pass pro and get on the same page!

    13 is not new, he (Hunter Renfrow) had over 100 catches for the Raiders in 2021 (though you could be forgiven for thinking he's new, as JMD didn't seem to value him at all). *Edit: I'm leaving this comment up because screw JMD.

    Davante spitting on his hands was exceptional "bonus content" ... I have always been a fan of his, but that really seems like it's either rookie or saboteur behavior. 🤷‍♀️🥺

    Saying new guy shows how much mcdaniels ruined him. He had 1000 yards and over 100 catches last year. Glad we getting him back in motion

    So you're saying Mcdaniels system was broken and rookies gonna rookie basically? As far as 8 whiffing on pass pro..he also won us a game or 2 protecting jimmy so I can't be mad at him.

    Do you still think Aidan lacks arm strength on deep balls after seeing that play action pass from the 35 yard line to the 10. Looked like 55 yards in the air to me.

    Why was it a penalty to cover 87 on the 12 3x1 formation if he stayed in to protect? Can’t you have as many on the LOS as you want? Happens all the time in unbalanced looks
