I just had the absolute worst nightmare. Running from all the evil, I woke up in a panic attack. I wrote down all of what I remember happened. Then I came searching for someone who relates. Thank you for making this video! Leveling up comes with a new hard. This is gonna be a journey.

This has been possibly one of the most influential and uplifting videos I’ve seen in my journey of quitting. Been smoking for about 10 years of my life now, I’m 28, and these dreams have been absolutely brutal. I’m about 3 weeks sober and every morning so far I wake up feeling like I just played a horror game in VR and took off the glasses after hours of playing and believing what I just experienced was real. Knowing that what I’m going through is actually helping me and improving my mental health is what’s keeping me on track. Thank you so much for this post, you are out here helping people recover and live a better life for themselves free of bad habits and dependency.

That's crazy I'm also 28 and going through all this what gets me more mad at myself is the fact that I believed everyone that said its not addicting yet I'm facing withdrawal symptoms now but either way we push through everything and things always get better proud of everyone going through these stages trying to fix their life/health. Stay strong!

I am also 28 and currently four days out of smoking bud, I threw all my stuff away. I’ve been having the worst nightmares since, like I wake up and I’m terrified I have to convince myself for a good 15 minutes that it wasn’t real, but also as you said it feels like a horror game in VR mode it truly sucks. Maybe I could write these crazy nightmare ideas down for a horror themed book 😂. (Gotta laugh or I may cry! 😅) anyways, it’s inspiring to see others in the same boat as me. Health is wealth for real! I hope you’re all doing well in life and staying strong with your sobrieties. 🫶

Just went through this right now for the first time I’ve been clean from weed for seven days now I couldn’t tell real world from dreamworld right when I woke up and I think I was screaming because the last “minute” of my dream I was screaming for help. in the dream, my little sister and I found a portal to another dimension and we thought it was cool at first until we started “abusing it” and the dream got so sinister genuinely scared when I woke up looking at my phone Screen same one I’ve had for’7 months and calmed me down cuz I knew damn well after seeing that im for sure in the real world. Reminds me of Morpheus from the matrix saying to Neo have you ever had a dream that you were so sure was real, but how will you wake from that dream? Or something like that I’ll have to rewatch the 1999 matrix. One of my favorite movies since I was little kid

28 year old male here. I had been a daily smoker/dabber for the past 14 years and recently noticed intense anxiety after using. Made me quit cold turkey one day and ever since I have noticed a great increase in lifes outlook and positivity. Everything is much more clear now. Never thought I would quit but it truly does help. Dreams have been a bit wonky but overall I wake up with tons of energy and feel so much better. For those who are thinking about quitting/slowing down, it is totally worth it!

hey how's it been ? you still manage not to smoke ? your comments really caught my eyes since I am 28 years old and also been smoking for 14 years , and smoking A LOT. I have a horrible memory , short and long both trash and I am realizing that I need to abandon this addiction , but I don't think that I can just drop it for good , but instead slowly and steady day by day . I mostly don't feel the huge urge to smoke when I'm alone , but all of my best friends are pot smokers , and most of them are not losers or feel like pot does any harm to them at all , so it's hard for me to explain to them what i'm going thru since they can't relate, like im the only loser in my circle that smokes pot , they all have good careers , girlfriends , some of them have kids and so on . I kinda feel like weed has taken out the pleasure in other things in my life , like meeting people , chasing girls and doing stuff. It is really hard to do a Self evaluation since I started so early with weed in life , I met nice people and changed my perspective in life because of weed, I really love the weed culture and feel that people who smoke tend to be good and chill people usually , we would have that one thing in common and would all get along because of our favorite hobby lol. Perhaps I don't wish to quit completely but to do a moderate use like I do with alcohol , I almost never drink and when I do it's only a can or two max. Anyways hope to hear from you , blessings.

It was easy for me when I TRULY realized what I'm going up against if I kept on doing it.
Smoked for 10+ years (with interruptions).
I now sleep better, think better and relate better with anything around me. Oh and I started to dream again.

Im having the worst dreams of my life , as far as as i remember im a strong man but damn boy this nightmares are drowning me i just dreamed about her getting with other dudes and or me getting prisoned by her or even obsessed by devils that looks like her shit like this , my depression and anxiety making it worse cant stop thinking negatively, i also had dreams like the doctor described where people chase you … but the intense ones are always having something to do with what you’re experiencing in the period of time you chose to quit so try to be good mentally before quitting weed pls i dont wish this to my worst enemies (quitting+breakups=hell) , stay safe and strong brothers we not giving up or looking back just wanted to write one of my experiences here , pray for me i love you all . In my dreams; I went from traveling the world to being chased by cops, attacked by monsters etc. But I am finding my mood to feel better and I am getting the most out of my days. It's nice to have an appetite & be in control of my money 😂

This morning I dreamt of entering a portal into another world and I met this family that accepted and loved me and I fell in love with their daughter who was extremely beautiful.. I was with them for two days I did activities and laughed with them until the second day.. I literally felt myself waking up and I tried to say goodbye to their daughter but she wasn’t around.. I tried to run to the cinema where she was at but once I walked out of the house I was sucked back into the portal then I woke up in my bed feeling extremely lonely.. it felt so real man I cried in bed and it has been bugging me all day.. haha :/ I’m 25 and it was the first time I felt loved by someone and I wish I didn’t wake up at all lol man.. these dreams are powerful

Thanks, I'm on day 2 and had my first dream in years this morning. It wasn't too bad, but I know the nightmares you speak of. I recommend the Crappy Childhood Fairie and Tim Fletcher to deal with complex trauma which is what most of us are probably needing to deal with in order to quit suppressing our deeper emotions we want to bury.

I hope you're still doing OK. I wish you the best.
I'm so glad you mentioned the Crappy Childhood Fairy and Tim Fletcher. Anna Runkle, the Crappy Childhood Fairy, also mentioned the book by Pete Walker, Complex PTSD, from surviving to thriving, a solid handbook for self treating our childhood traumas. I've rented a little place to go and get clean in solitude, and I leave in four days. I got to this point, quitting, due to one of Anna's videos that said if you have any addictions, or criminal or tax stuff weighing you down, it's best to get them dealt with for faster recovery. SO - Alcohol gone (check), minor tax issues resolved (check), and now I'm quitting weed. To help, I'm taking my tablet so I can watch all the videos I want on quitting. I'll work through Pete Walker's book on CPTSD, and I'll consume stacks of paper and pencils for the daily writing practice.
And we mustn't forget Gabor Maté, the deepest voice so far on the true nature of addiction. He says, don't ask Why the Addiction, ask Why the Pain? I was the scapegoat in our family, so I come by it honestly. Now I have the tools to pass through this with more confidence. Maybe the dreams won't be too bad with all the work I've done to prepare for this passage in my life. If I can cut off my crappy family of origin, I can cut off weed.

Great video! It's been 2 weeks since I quit smoking (smoked for nearly 10 years on a daily basis). My experience is quite positive though.
I too always woke up as if I just layed to bed, without remembering any of the dreams I had (if any). I usually slept for 6/7 hours for a full rest and woke up pretty fresh even though I smoked before going to bed.
Now my dreams are VERY lucid, and for me it's AWESOME. I used to have many lucid dreams as a teenager but that went away later on. Now I sleep less and I do wake up a few times occasionally but I feel even more rested.
My advice is to have a positive view on the things you're experiencing, involve curiosity and self awareness. You are on the right track now and your brain is getting used to it.

Nearly 3 months off the stuff I still dream some wacky stuff every night without fail but luckily the nightmares are becoming less frequent. It seemed like The THC was fighting me to let go. But after that Nightmare All the dreams after we’re Just Dreams. But now years later I can’t sleep without Dreaming None of them being Nightmares. I’m trying to achieve Lucidity now and Journaling my dreams . The Clear headedness from not smoking during the day Is almost a Buzz in its self. Good luck too anyone watching this Vid who’s trying to stop 🛑 smoking For whatever reason you Got this

I quit cold turkey for a week now. Starting from day 2 i have been having these crazy dreams. I remember every single detail of every dream i have been having since then. Most of the time i dream about stuff that happend the day before or what could maybe happen in the future. Kind of like my brain is trying to anticipate what is going to happe in the future. Sometimes it can be very scary but at the same time i enjoy remembering them. I try to train myself to control them. Somehow having these livid dreams make me feel proud of myself since i know i am on a good path quitting smoking. Don't get me wrong i enjoyed smoking and i think i could help out a lot of people for some of their issues but i was a heavy smoker for a couple of years and i wasted way to much money on it. It started to affect my social and work life. I was always tired and lazy. I just wasn't productive at all. I missed out on a lot of things because of it. Anayway. For those who are in the same situation as me, please keep fighting, keep going, be strong. I know it can be difficult sometimes but it feels so satisfying for me knowing i can actualy set my mind to quit smoking.

I studied with a dream analyst for 18 months, and she assured me that all dreams have a positive message. When someone dies or you kill someone, it’s a part of yourself you want to get rid of. Think of you as all the characters. When you are fighting, you are fighting for you. Hope this helps.

I'm a nutcase and I love these intense dreams because to me, I have a personal interpretation of nightmares being thrilling and fun and something to learn from, especially when I wake up for the day and being able to look back to that night when I woke up in a sweat with
a racing heart checking to make sure there's not some demon down the hallway. I get a laugh out of it later. - That's how I got over my fear of nightmares as a kid.
Though, I've definitely noticed my dreams after quiting have been really intense, I knew that would be the case going in so I've been keeping a dream journal. Bring it On! I honestly don't want it to end and would love the intensity to increase, if every dream could feel like that 2 day long feeling dream I had, that'd be great, a real adventure and I learnt a lot. Don't be afraid to let your dreams adapt you to becoming a better person, it's worth it.
I've got a whole other paragraph I've written for this saved detailing some important dream instances but they're not at all safe for youtube.

I just had the most crazy dream. I had gone to see a dealer but it was a trap they stripped out my body for parts I woke up to find myself in a surgical smock with a drip. I had become a Frankenstein creature. Strange wires and metal pieces had been added to my body my ligaments had all been "stripped out" and a strange bag was used like the bagpipes when I moved. I walked up to people begging for an ambulance but everyone was ridiculing me. As I walked "Scotland the brave" was playing through the pipes and tubes they had added. I looked in the mirror I was a complete freak. Then somebody said they done this to my son also. The laughter and ridicule surrounded me. I just woke up and wrote this directly after waking. I'm still very shaken by this dream. Don't want to go back to sleep.

25 year old here. I quit smoking after daily intake of 2gs sometimes more, sometimes less a day. I was always a dreamer. Even before the weed I liked going to bed just to dream. Some nights nothing some night crazy adventures. When I started smoking the dreams got a little hazier and couldn’t remember much when I woke up other then if I had a crazy adventure. I quit smoking weed about a month ago and I have had a whole switch up. I can’t make it through a night of sleep/ I have vivid short dreams that feel like they last a lot longer. A couple being demonic/ getting attacked/ beaten up a ngl a couple sexual that just turn weird. I just want to get back to a full night sleep but it’s every morning 4am I wake up and wonder wtf just happened in my dream. One night it was a dream where I would wake up in the same spot but still be dreaming and it was a nightmare just waking up in a different dream but in the same spot. Finally when I awoke in the real world I had to truly take my surroundings in to make sure I wasn’t still dreaming. I need help but smoking isn’t an option.
Side note wonderful video. Great points on being mindful and understanding the human mind and body! I have noticed in the morning I am very energized and ready to start my day!

@@BetterYouNow I’ve smoked weed for 21 years bro. I’m turning 35 next week and I don’t want to be a slave to it anymore. The longest I’ve ever lasted in the past has been three weeks. I ended up smoking again because my dreams were exhausting and I started to feel sorry for myself and lost all my initial motivation to get off it. The first few dreams were cool and interesting, but the longer it goes on the harder it is to deal with. Not only are the dreams exhausting me, but I wake up and I can’t stop thinking about it. As I said, in the last couple of dreams I’ve been aware that I’ve been dreaming and I’ve been telling myself to wake up in the dream - but last night I just couldn’t wake up even though I knew I wasn’t awake. I started to think that maybe I was dead given the fact I couldn’t wake up. I checked my heartbeat and my heart wasn’t beating. I finally “woke up” and called my friend to tell him that I had a dream that I couldn’t wake up from. Five minutes later I realised that I was still dreaming and I can’t even begin to explain how horrifying it was. I fell asleep earlier today when I came home from work and something similar happened. When I woke up the first thing I did was search on UA-cam for advice and found your video. That dream of yours sounds terrifying bro. I was thinking it might be a good idea to try and analyse your dreams to work out the symbolism behind them - maybe if you get a clearer idea of what your body is trying to tell you and fully process it then the idea of falling asleep it might not feel so daunting. Appreciate your video anyway mate. Hope you continue on your journey and manage to replace your addiction with a major positive in your life 👍🏼 sending love from Scotland ✊🏻

Hello thanks for this video you helped to understand what’s going on with me, and also that I’m not alone with the nightmare issues in relation to stopping smoking weed. I have been a smoker for 22 years and 20 of them where all day everyday. Like you said what a waste of time and potential. It’s like putting your life in neutral when you should be in drive. This is day 7 for me the most important as I have made it this far a few times and relapsed, but have not given up and kept trying. I think i will make it this time cause I want to better myself now even more. It has become something to conquer getting past this day and win. But these dreams are vivid and nightmareish and they suck totally to know this is a process of healing gives me confidence to keep moving forward. Thanks again for this video it is comforting knowing that I’m not the only one going through this. May God bless you for your humbleness and honesty as it is not an easy thing to put yourself out there on social media.
