Funfact about YAML If you don't have a good enough reputation with a house, they will actually deny you of buying certain items or weapons of a certain tier. So since Kurita doesn't exactly like you, they refuse to sell it to you. When you're in their good graces, they will sell it to you. Learned that after beating Liao so much
It's the original light mechs big bro. Now to see what an even heavier city fighting stomp lord could do with the rapid turn speeds of those arm and hip joints and no need for movement speed outside of acceleration to get back into cover.
When I play YAML MW5 career, I usually avoid the long toms and arrows, but after this vid, I think I will definitely give them a try. Definitely made me a believer of the double arrow atlas.
They actually failed the Arrow double bin. the one ton and the half ton hold WAY less ammo. But the YAML Developers seem to watch every episode, so my own Arrowlas will loose a lot of ammo the next days XD
I would so *LOVE* To see a Mechwarrior Mercenary game, where you can actually create a mercenary unit like in the books. Multiple regiments for deployment, organize the logistics. Maybe include air superiority and even space battle around the jump-ships. Why its always 4 Mechs maximum will never cease to disappoint me. And i have played and loved every Mechwarrior game from Mechwarrior 1 on DOS. And all the Mech Commanders and the current Battletech by Paradox. Even the multiplayer ones. But they all fall short. Even with Mods.
You should give MegaMek a go, there's a campaign mode where you can do all that kinda stuff. Gameplay is exactly like tabletop though, and it can feel spreadsheety sometimes. But it might scratch that itch!
That's just awesome! I think there is a bug with the Gladiator armor. Every time that I see it in the Dropship screen and go to Equipment, it is never there. So if you acquire it on a mech in salvage, you are lucky. You could arc your ARROW shots up as you don't lose the lock right away...BOOMskii!
I believe that these rare item that do not appear when in the shop, do appear when you check the market from the building screen in the mechbay (click on the component slot to see the option from your storage and the market). Problably some shop ''display limitation'' that is bypassed by the mechbay.
I loved this episode. Also, love the smoke personally, love how immersive the battle seems. Side note, you actually got me into the Battletech/Mechwarrior games and I have also been looking into modding my own games because of this series. Looking forward to more episodes to come.
It's soo cool the arrow build! Looks like hours of fun! One thing I wish pgi would do, make the sound realistic, as in you see the explosions in the distance before you hear the boom. have like 3 distance settings. Idk I'm asking too much. I hate that about movies too..
Now that I've seen the double Arrow Atlas I can't stop thinking about the double Long Tom Anni, if such a thing is even possible. This episode was pure fun to watch, exactly the kind of excitement for the game and the audience that makes for great content. Thanks.
You need to use the Long Tom Cannon to fit 2 of them in a 'Mech. They have less range than the Arrow IV and can't fire the alternative payloads...and there's an Arrow IV round that acts like the default Long Tom round, anyway...making Long Tom Cannons objectively worse than Arrow IV launchers, unless the enemy has enough AMS to reliably shut down your missiles, and, even then, I think the unguided Arrow IV round might be immune to AMS. (Also, Long Tom Cannons can't fire Davy Crockett rounds. Which is really the only metric by which an artillery piece should be measured...)
In before the arrow ammo gets balanced xD Edit: I go back to old videos just because I forgot to hit the like button on them xD, you make such good content bara.
I don't know if Baradul noticed this in other episodes, but I've recently found that the first gray icon on the third row of the equipment store is actually the tab for cockpits, mech parts, C.A.S.E., etc.
16:08 Just started modding MW5 and found an insane hero Banshee, the 3S "Reinesblatt". That thing is just broken. It has a quirk which gives him a melee damage bonus and comes with a tier 5 battleaxe. Mine has an LBX10, 5 ER Mlasers, 1 ER PPC, 1 SRM6 (all clan), runs 101 km/h with MASC, can Jump, has a BAP, maximum armor and I tuned his actuaturs, TC and gyro for more melee damage. It does like 150 damage per swing. Playing that mech feels like a cheat. You take out entire assault lances in 4 swings. Dunno what those modders were smoking that night...
What a terror. The menacing, slow stomps. The balled iron fists, held ready to strike. The deaths head cockpit. Staring murder at any foe. The twin... uh... chest mounted... massive.. Um....
I am salivating over the prospect of seeing it in action and since I have voluntarily exiled myself into a big hole I dug in the yard and buried myself until the Melee Banshee is unleashed and perfected, you can imagine the sort of problems this is causing me RE: mud
You're very entertaining and educational to watch. I'm flabbergasted that you haven't reached 100k yet! edit: you stripped that melee black knight to put it into cold storage. That took a lot of time and money. Why not just put it in cold storage, which strips it instantly for free?
Gladiator has shown up several times recently as rare equipment but it hasnt been in the store when i have looked for it, just like you experienced so i assume there is a bug in there somewhere
Yay the arrows with long Tom on the Atlas that right there is unbeatable fire power especially you're in a lance, you bring the hammer your team brings the shield and everything becomes a nail to you.... And guess what your the hammer
Man, I am glad I am not the only one who put 2 Arrow IVs on a Mech. Only I did it with the Marauder 9M. Crit Splitting update for YAML really came in-handy for that. It was one of the most ridiculous things I did in this Game. So Over-Powered and YET, NOT BROKEN. Because if any enemy gets close enough, those missiles become a BIG PROBLEM. Since you will either hurt Allies with the AoE OR wont be able to fire at all inside Minimum Range!
I was thinking Nightstar or a Cyclops but I could see a Warhammer. Those babies would be mighty vulnerable in the arms, though. Is there anything in the 85-100 ton range with two torso ballistic mounts? They might be better protected in the side torsos rather than the arms but I cant remember if the Sleipnir has two mounts or one.
@@orbitalbutt6757 Hero Cyclops, the Sleipnir? iirc has 2 torso ballistics. Not sure if you have the crit slots to stuff an XL engine in there too however. Hero Corsair would also be a good choice for close mount groupings.
You need to do some lower tier missions (or get lucky) and find Wolverine-X mechs. Pirates and Kurita run it. It is absolutely crazy, with 5 Harjal self healings, full setup for melee mech - melee gyro, upers hardened, lower melee, hotseat, etc. It runs dual claws and like 2 lasers. Important part is you can take all the components, nothing is fixed. Setting up weapon hand with max melee damage, a battleaxe and the right assault mech it is true one shot. I don't run hot seat however, because TSM gives bigger total bonus, and it is very easy to make a super toasty build with a coolshot for emergency.
UM-AIV This variant of the UrbanMech replaces the standard weaponry with an Arrow IV missile launcher and ER medium laser. It requires an endo steel chassis and small cockpit to provide room, and the UrbanMech can only carry ten rounds for the Arrow system. Despite these limitations, it is still a decent fire support unit. Notably, it can be used to launch nuclear-tipped Arrow IV missiles
I wish i could find a Melee BK7, and i was actually thinking about popping an Arrow IV on my Atlas D H 2 since its built to carry that weight. I got Lore based mech variants (YAML version) which is awesome just for the atlas II. Also i totally agree they should make any fire control laser on toggle instead of just having to hold side buttons on the mouse, i have to do the same thing on my Acer Nitro mouse. If you have the Atlas D H with SLDF Relic though it is also an Atlas II, this game is weird with the mods, sry i keep editing man im enjoying this video. (YAML Got an update over the weekend brother) an if you ever need autocannon ammo, house davion industrial zones, or northwind.. davion corners the market on autocannons in the inner sphere.
Personally, I like the smoke as it lends something real life has, uncertainty. The smoke dissipation rate could be faster I suppose. Arrowx2 is hella fun. I want to see the Long Tom+Arrow build... GL!
Not making a dig at you but in combat smoke tends to hang around, especially at certain times of day, at night, when the ground is cold, when its wet, low wind etc. So it makes sense here.
I remember playing mech commander 2 and turned an atlas into a indirect fire support mech with 2 long Tom artillery pieces as it’s only weapons. It was terrible but the initial alpha strike always mauled whatever it hit
That's why I actually like limits and rules in games. Of course stuff like this is super fun and hilarious. At least for a while. But in the long run I think only very few people can resist min-maxing and powergaming, and ,from my experience at least, that can kill the fun in the end. Either because things get too easy, thus boring. Or systems with very many customization options can quickly become hard to balance, so eventually there's a 'best' config that severely limits your choices, despite all the freedom. Lots of options? Yes please. Total customization and freedom? Idk, maybe yes, but probably not. Anyways, glad you had fun Bara 😉
Yeah, artillery seems OP. The other day I lost 2 of my mechs and their pilots against 2 longtom+arrow Atlas. I reduced the artillery damage down to 25% in the options, and maybe will go even lower...
Another great episode and really enjoying the series. Even got me to purchase the game DLCs. Might be being blind but I'm not seeing the mod list for this series and they are not in the description like I found on the last series. Can someone point me to it?
Arrows seem better than the long tom. The lock on is nice for air targets and it shoots faster. Probably safer for AI pilots too that will use the lock on. Tag doesn't seem helpful though as its range is limited. I like the idea of squeezing a large laser in there though. Maybe two smalls and a large?
Don't worry Bara some people like tinkering with builds just as much as gameplay... infact I sometimes skip entire missions with your RT vid's just to skip to the salvage picks looking forward to next video's new building...
Battlemaster The melee variant? I gave it Supercharger and MASC. Uprated the engine. Gave it 6ml in the torso and then the battleaxe and tweaks to boost damage. 122 damage in one hit by the battleaxe. I grazed a pheonix hawk in the leg when it tried jumping over me and ripped it's side torso off and half the armor of it's center with migrating damage. Oh and it goes at 144kph. I forgot to mention that little bit didn't i? It's the fastest thing on the map and it's an assaultmech with a 7ton battleaxe swinging at your face. It's glorious.
Also. the reason for 200 rounds in the Arrow doubleammo bin was due to a change in Arrow. It used to fire 5 missiles and so the Double bin is equivelent of a Bin of 40 shots. But then they switched to a singular missile and forgot to update the double ammo bin to account for that. It has since be changed. So yes. It used to be ALLLLL the ammo. Now it's 40.
Other than the YAML mod which mods is Baradul running? My pilots in YAML dont seem to have the same training options and stuff. Also, my Jump Jet slots seem to have disappeared. Are they just part and parcel to the Mechs now?
Yo, I came up with some Marauder-IIC loudout for MWO the other day if you are interested in making a video on one of them (I can send more specific specs such as skill trees, equipment, etc) Anyways, I was able to fit 3 C-UAC 10s onto one of the torsos, it was quite effective at killing enemy mechs, the problem was it would run out of ammo pretty quickly. The other build U made that I prefer is 3 C-AC-5 and 4 C-ER Medium lasers, while it has less damage output, it's much more versatile, can fight even after running out of ammo, has more ammo, can keep up a consistent rate of fire, be used for short range, mid range, and long rnage combat, etc.
I have a rags to riches campaign going with the dark ages - where I started with one pilot, one mech, and 1.5m cbills. I am now immediately stuck - as an arrow Urbanmech is stopping me from going any further due to arrows being SO GOOD and my poor Urbanmech and spider just can't survive
Wait until he grabs the Yrrot hero Atlas and throws a pair of Sniper Artillery cannons in it. Feels like a God of War throwing tactical nukes around the battlefield.
Ah! Having played with the older version of YAML, before they figured out how to add a unique projectile for the Arrow, each missile's damage was broken up between a salvo of five LRMs (using the stock LRM-5 launch graphic), so the ammo you are seeing looks like it wasn't rebalanced. It's still the same number of shots as it had when it used five rounds per shot.
Try the Atlas D with an Arrow IV and a Long Tom, both at level 4. It's unbalancing as hell, but it's big fun killing tanks over the horizon and then snapshooting a running Flea. Hilarious.
That's the base stats, before adding the quirks. However, given that Baradul will stop this campaign again at some point, he doesn't really have to worry too much for only getting 60 base pilots, as he will probably not max them out. Also, a 59 with the right quirks is better than a 60 with quirks that are suboptimal according to your playstyle. For example, I like the quirks that buff the defensive stats, especially shielding+evasion. (An alive lancemate has higher dps than a dead one with 20 on missile stat)
So on that Gladiator armor, if you click the slot in the mechlab, the equipment list automatically filters and then you can click on the market, so you might be able to see it that way. I mean, it's a little late cause you already left but maybe next time?
Funfact about YAML

It's 70 tons
That's why it took so many arrows during the first mission

Build the long tom Atlas for a personal mech with an arrow perhaps.
And bring a twin arrow minion with laser support mechs

Pretty sure the gladiator pat is bugged the NSS armor however does exist cause I've found a couple, not sure why it didn't show up for Bara.
Mit Kanonen auf Spatzen schießen 😁
Yup "well" not "good' "No collateral damage" is pretty funny too.
is there a player vs player mech game besides MechWarrior on line. are thgere any servers up?
Try the Atlas D with an Arrow IV and a Long Tom, both at level 4. It's unbalancing as hell, but it's big fun killing tanks over the horizon and then snapshooting a running Flea. Hilarious.
Arrow missile, also know by mechwarriors: god's hand of death
Is their a list of the mods he uses
What mods are being used?
15:10 “Is 59 good enough” Unless my eyes are worst then I though, I swear that’s a 68
That's the base stats, before adding the quirks.
The Gladiator showing up in the home screen is a bug. That is a fixed equipment which only exists on the BlackKnight.
Which mods are you running in this series
Make your own TAG toggle , you have a logitech mouse it seems ? Use the G-software to do it. I've done that years ago for MWO.
So on that Gladiator armor, if you click the slot in the mechlab, the equipment list automatically filters and then you can click on the market, so you might be able to see it that way.
I mean, it's a little late cause you already left but maybe next time?
