New Variable Valve Timing Solenoid from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1AZMX00166
This video shows you how to install a new variable valve timing solenoid in your 2004-2006 Scion xB. If the variable valve timing solenoid in your vehicle is stuck or clogged, causing your engine to not run properly, you may notice reduced fuel efficiency, sputtering, rough running or stalling in your engine. Solenoids usually need to be replaced once they begin to fail.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:

This is usually called the Oil Control Valve or OCV, there is also a filter below it, behind a hex cap plug that should be cleaned or replaced also.

I have the check engine light P0010. "A Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit / Open Bank 1"
Is my VVT Solenoid need replacement to fix it? If so do you have parts in 1aAuto?

I had the P0010 code and I wound up replacing the VVT solenoid. Well, it then gave me the P0012 code, so I went ahead and replaced the camshaft position sensor. Now I'm hearing that on this particular vehicle you have to do a camshaft sensor relarn anytime you replace the VVT solenoid or the camshaft sensor. No one mentions that in the videos though. 😭 Has anyone else heard of that being necessary?

Thank you for this video. I'm hoping it solves my P012 error code and rough idle. It does great except for at stop lights, then it vibrates. Brand new motor mounts, new ignition coils and plugs, and a rebuilt engine. Still shakes while in gear, it goes away in neutral. I really really hope this fixes it!
