I'm going to install the battery on the outside on the unit and seal it, so when it leaks nextime the battery acid doesn't spill on the circuit board and I can plug a new battery pack into the unit with a connector.

Thanks for this. You made a pain in the a*** job look simple. Really bad design from Volvo. Mine is draining the battery.

You don’t have to take the wheel off to unplug it. Turn the wheel all the way to the left and you have a large opening to access the alarm module behind the fender. I took a long flathead screw driver and un did the clip. Took me literally 5 mins. Sunroof works again

Great video Freddy, might be a good idea to test before riveting the wheel liner back in?👍👍👍

Great video! I just did this and all is good...except when I use the Foxwell NT530 scanner, still shows two codes.... UEM-0004 and UEM-0078. I clear them but they come back. Nothing on the dash. Any ideas? Sunroof and lock all work fine.

I have a 2001 S80. What may be the issue if I simple disable the alarm by pulling a fuse? Is there a fuse for the alarm?

I took my Alarm out of my Volvo V70 and the siren circuit board was Shot I tried using AA Batteries and the siren didn't make a Single Sound and the service alarm message was still there so it seems the circuit board was flooded with battery acid So I'm not going to fix the problem Unless I find a cheap siren that works But at least it worked for you Take care

I have a 2005 Volvo XC90 T6. The sunroof and electric side mirrors do not work. This all happened when an alarm message started to flash. IF I simply unplug the alarm and bypass it, will the sunroof and mirrors work again?

So I’m working on a 2007 Volvo XC90 and I have a DTC code P0004 and the car has an immobilizer see manual message and the car will not start. The CEM Module and the battery have been replaced, so I’m wondering will this module cause a no start, also the new battery is being drained!

How can I fix my 2008 Volvo S80 it doesn’t lock or unlock checked my fuse but the seem fine even replaced them. Would this video still apply to that chasis?

Try to read out fault codes on your vehicle, this video is regarding the P2 platform. Is it a specific door, or is it using the locking function on your car keys perhaps? I've made a video about broken locking mechanism on Volvo xc60. Maybe that one can help you out perhaps. 🙏

Hey, I have the same issue on my Volvo V70 2004. And it says alarm system service required.
Now, I could almost not hear the siren when I checked if it worked. And eventually it stopped to work.
And then the message came by. At the same time the electrical sunroof stopped working.
And I checked the fuse on that and it was good. So I removed the siren and the sunroof started to work again. So, I double checked putting the faulty siren back, and sunroof stopped working again. I have still not replaced the siren though.
Did you know about the siren/sunroof connection?
Afterwards I talked to other people with V70s and they had the same issue. Some of them took them to the shop and also received a hefty sunroof repairing bill and it was nothing wrong with it.
I have subbed to your channel. I am sure it will be very helpful in the future.
    Cheers

so you're using your car with the alarm unplugged?
is there any problem for doing that?
      maybe the car won't lock?

@@Charlitos1988 I have not have any issues looking the car with siren unplugged. But I took off the battery cables from both terminals. I put them together for an hour to reset everything.
And then I plugged in the alarm that was not working and sun roof is still working.
But eventually I will replace the siren.
Did all that out of curiosity.

@@dakingakings7184 So if your sunroof isn't working you can just unplug the siren and the sunroof will work?

    • @dakingakings7184
      @dakingakings7184 2 роки тому +2

@@geoffers158 I have friends that just took off the cables on the battery. And put +and- together for 30 minutes to reset everything and the sunroof started to work. But I didn’t know that. So, unplugged the siren and it worked. And I put the faulty alarm unit in again. And sunroof still worked. I guess that is a kind of reset too. I will eventually replace it though.
Anyhow, I am not saying it will work for everyone. Give it a shot with those 2 options. Start with the battery option as it is done quickly.

    maybe the car won't lock?

The car will still lock. However the alarm-function will still be out of order so to speak 😊
