Ebay battery (try not to use chinese ones because they have much lower capacity than advertised and won't last). We need for the S60 V70 XC70 XC90 a 7.2V Ni-MH 240mAh or more (240H). be aware of the chinese 'Varta' ones. Also you will find Varta but only 150mAh, that's not enough for the long term. Hi Peppermint,
I have a 2004 Volvo S60 and my battery drained twice. Then I checked the siren alarm and I performed the test.
The lights started blinking but no siren. I will not be replacing the siren. If I remove the siren fuse, will it be enough that it will stop draining my battery anymore? I just want it disabled.
    Thanks,

If indeed the drain cause was the siren, then you should be fine once the fuse is removed. Of course, there are other possible causes of current drain, but the siren is usually the #1 culprit. See in the video description if you don't find the fuse in the side panel, 2005-on cars have a different location under the dash

If I remove fuse 38 will the lights still flash when the alarm is triggered or will it disable they entire alarm system?

See on the panel sticker for description : only the siren unit itself. Btw, my corner lights didn't flash when locking the car, only the red dash LED would start blinking - if it doesn't, one of the microswitches got stuck - either doors, trunk or hood ones

2001 V70 with 300k miles. Just got the Alarm Service Message and now sunroof/map lights/central locking even just driver door lock with key not working. Have FOB but that broke long ago. Little red dash light blinks and alarm lights go off still. What is best solution for just gettin my sunroof and locks to work - I really do not need the alarm on a 22 year old beater. I heard Dealer can just disable permanently

Dash LED and flashing lights are related to the alarm system - not affected by failed siren. The siren module is only for the sound. Try first removing the siren fuse.

First time I had a bad siren alarm module on my 2002 V70, I replaced the entire unit with a new part from Volvo. That was about 8 years ago. Now it's happening again. I'm a see if I can rebuild my old unit with a new battery which I saved. The first time this happened my sunroof would not work and that was a huge motivator for me to solve the problem. This time around, my sunroof seems to be working, at least for now. I would also recommend pulling the fuse, for me that at least stopped the alarm from going off randomly in the middle of the night which happened three times last night.

I just checked my 2005 s60 doesn’t have the fuse for alarm. There was only 9 fuse. I didn’t see fuse for alarm

It's possible Volvo did some changes from 2005-up cars. You can still just disconnect the alarm siren (but need to detach the wheel liner). This way you don't let the siren drain the car battery.

Hi nice video, I have Volvo also S60 but 2008 year, red light doesn't blinking , what I need to do?

Make sure first the fuse for the alarm siren is in place, fuse panel at the end of the dash near the driver's side with the door open (Left hand driving cars). If the fuse is good, it means the alarm system does not arm when the car is locked. Usually the reason is one of the alarm system switches is faulty: there is a switch at each door, and one at the hood and trunk lid. Usually it's the one at the hood that goes bad, it's located at the left hinge (on the air filter side).
