  • My gas pedal didn't do anything for almost an inch when I pressed it down with my foot. When it did engage, it did so suddenly which made driving a manual quite tricky. This video gives an overview of my problem, how I adjusted the throttle cable, and the concept behind where I set it for the best responsiveness. It's not a perfect video and I'm sorry I didn't show me taking the bolts loose, but I hope I explained it well enough that you get the idea =)

Did this in my Honda yesterday and the dead zone slack is all gone. Great tip. You may be able to hear the "tap" sound as the throttle closes completely to ensure it's not overtightened.

Note that the flanged nut is for locking the adjustment as well as for holding the cable on the bracket, so loosen it first and tighten it last. 9.8 N m (87 inch pound force) on my Honda, FWIW.

An explanation is nice but had you of actually showing us what you did with tools it would have actually been a useful video to watch

@@Plugs_818 that looks like a p73 bracket which is for a Type-R and you can only use a Type-R throttle cable on it since the GSR is a lot shorter
