She landed jokes better than a native speaker. Only someone with a big sense of humor at heart could pull that off.
"How can I win over Glenn Close?" What a fine example of grace and humility. I loved her comments about competition. Just a class act from start to finish.
The mum guilt....my two sons who made me go to work.....😂😂😂
She won a bafta too. Her acceptance speech was great 😂😂 Called the British snobs ahaha
As a fellow Korean, I’m so touched to see this moment. Yuh Jung Youn is a legend with her versatile and believable storytelling. Comes to show how amazing her acting is when she’s recognized internationally and acclaimed outside of Korea. Not to mention she’s also classy, hilarious, and humble all at once as seen in this video. Just love her!!
Brad Pitt is one of the producers of Minari. And her comment at the beginning is in reference to why Brad didn’t visit them while they were filming.
How could someone whose English is a second language make an acceptance speech so effortlessly and elegantly? She must be a really bright, genuine, and humble person.
Even with the language barrier, out of her comfort zone, her speech still delivers! 🥰
"i'm luckier than you" lol
She is reminding people of the director who hired her for.the first time. She is thougful and grateful.
My favorite is afterwards when a reporter asked her what Brad Pitt smells like & her response was basically, " I don't know. I didn't smell him. I'm not a dog."
Such a refreshingly funny and honest speech straight from the heart. One of my fave Oscar speeches ever. In Minari as you watch her you forget she is acting. In her speech you forget she is giving a speech.
This is one of the loveliest speeches I’ve heard in the Oscars, she is such an so sweet, full of heart and it feels so relatable when all cultures are celebrated for their incredible talent, I really wish academy’s to keep this up
She's a great person. She doesn't have any prejudice. very realistic, very genuine, honest, and always humble. That's how she was able to work in many foreign shows and films such as Sense 8 in English! It's not so easy to learn a new language and even act in it for her age.
They clearly chose correctly. This is perfection. 🥰
mommy worked so hard))) she is sweet and funny!
For those out there who want to see more of her, she has two variety shows called:
Those sons though. As a working mom I'm feeling that energy. Real-ly funny
Dedicating the award to her first film director was just lit🔥
I saw several movies of her. But i really love her genuine character in reality show youn's kitchen. Her sense of humor always like this. That's why i love her even more.
