Whenever I think of 2001, I think of it as the "peak" of the Douche Age, and it really brings me back to my childhood of nothing but Tony Hawk, X-Games, nü metal, juvenile pop punk, Jackass, Grand Theft Auto 3, Dragon Ball Z, Halo: Combat Evolved, all those baggy jeans and mall goths and spiky hairdoes, all that dumbass testosterone. It was like "90s 2 Kewl For Skewl" undergoing puberty, obsessed with boobies and psychotic breakdowns, And the video games definitely sold that atmosphere of the time. Good times, man.
I hope you guys are liking this series so far. They’re a lot of work, but it’s so rewarding when the videos are watched and interacted with. Thank you all so much!
I for the one will never doubt my sanity. The current awful feeling we have towards gaming is not because we have grown older or blinded by nostalgia. Looking at this video I can clearly see games were fun and studios used to innovate. You didn't know what you are going to get in a game when you started it. These days all the games play out the same.
Hey Gold! great content. Getting a gamecube and popping in Smash Bros for the first time is a certified core memory of mine! How i wish I could go back
This video turned out awesome man! Such a nostalgia trip down gaming memory lane, much like the previous episode did. Thank you again for having me take part in this episode man! Can't wait to see the next one!
those xbox controllers in the start look so damn beefy. i have an og xbox, but it has slimmer controllers. i dont have much knowledge about early 2000s consoles, but is it a regional thing or evolving thing?
Thanks for watching! The original ones at launch were nicknamed “the Duke” and were with the console at launch. The revision to the smaller controller was shortly thereafter.
I mean the software speaks for itself. People clamor for it today and back then critics and fans loved the games for it. It didn’t sell well, no doubt, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good.

Fuck I'm getting old
You and me both!
Good video but skipped over a ton of ps2 titles from that year.
Gran Turismo 3, onimusha, the bouncer, zone of the Enders, silent hill 2, mgs2.
Yea, some I leave off cause I haven’t played them or don’t know much about them. Definitely wish I could play them all. Appreciate you watching.
And DMC
Nintendo stans are a very interesting people, they really thought that GameCube was something good haha

Wrong. 3:45 Nintendo was for kids. They refused to publish Conker due to its mature content. The game was instead published by THQ.
In Europe that’s true. However in the US, THQ wasn’t involved.
@goldcoinmountain In the US it was published by Rare themselves. Nintendo pulled out from this game and refused to publish it like I mentioned.
