I have many Kobalt products . The batteries are very good, But never let them get wet. Real killer.
Check the date code on the back of the battery package and buy newest manufacture date you can find.
Warranty is great
Pain in the butt. If the item you need comes from a kit then the replacement part has to be from the same kit. For example if the battery has issues they wouldn't let me just get a battery in the individual pack. They told me they need to find that same kit and then take the part from that kit. If they don't have it then need to find a store that has the kit and get it exchanged there.
Not true lowes give you a big hassle for returning kobalt tools
It helps that their 24V line is pretty good too

My blower wouldn’t turn on after 5 uses.. also bought the package..battery works fine
Sadly that’s not how it went for me today at Lowe’s. Customer service said since the my receipt has the trimmer and the blower on it, I have to return all three pieces to get a replacement.
So I guess I’ll have to try that and see. Every customer service person working today seemed very inexperienced.
I have had the same experience. I was told if it was bought in a kit then I would need to bring back the whole kit. They they said they don't have the kit in stock so they wouldn't let me just grab the item I needed that wasn't part of the kit because it has a different sku and would mess up their inventory.
They makeup the warranty as they go. They want to refund the money to me and let me go pick out what ever I want. The problem is the price has gone up since my original purchase leaving me to pay the difference.
From what Kobalt told me it's up to the store managers to either do that, replace everything or just one piece.
So my local store has chosen to give me the short end of the stick.
I will make a note of it to buy from Home Depot from now on. F Lowes! And yes after three years I still have the receipt.
So if your battery stops working an you get it exchanged for a new battery does the 3 year warranty restart all over again or do u just get the remaining time left on warranty from the first battery?
I think it starts from the time of the exchange but I am not certain as I have not had to do this as of yet as battery still works great.

Does a three year warranty start start back over with the replacement battery that you got when you went to Lowe’s I took the bad battery back?
From what I have read it is 3 years from the date on the battery (for better or worse). I have not needed warranty service luckily tho so I can’t say for certain.

If you replaced the battery 2 years into the 3 year warranty when you get the new one you only have 1 year left it will not start your warranty over

I went back to a gas trimmer and blower this season, got tired of batteries dying.

I love the Kobalt 24v Max line. I have that same battery plus the string trimmer, leaf blower and hedge trimmer. I can tell you the string trimmer will last 50 minutes to an hour on one charge. I can't tell you how long on the blower or hedge trimmer because I only use them for 10 minutes then I'm done. You can't beat Lowe's zero-hassle return and exchange policies. That's my go-to store.
I mean, batteries are cheap enough to stack up, and their other tools are, for the most part, really good so you can stack on all lol.

I bought one last spring. I love it. I paid 129 I think. With extra spool and extra warranty. The package was on sale for 99 with extra stuff came to like 130 and change.
It's an awesome little trimmer. I use the blower to clear grass clippings, blow off my riding mower when done with it, and even dry my car after washing. They are both excellent tools!

Done with Lowe's. This piece of garbage didn't even work past 3 months and now Lowe's wants nothing to do with it. Batteries were fully charged and it just keeps shutting off. We probably used it 6 times max since we bought it in July. No more electric lawnmowers for me, going back to the trusty old gas powered ones.
