    I can run my lawnmower with 2x 4AH Extended Run for like 40 minutes. They're not bad at all. I put in lag bolts for a wall-mounted workbench, and I can jack up my car and remove struts all with the standard 2AH (scissor jacks with drill, 1/2" impact wrench for rusty suspension bolts). Even their cheapest batteries are amazingly capable.

    For the money it’s hard to beat the performance of the Kobalt 24v lineup.
    Thanks for doing this test!

    Agreed, those 8ah Kobalt batteries are terrific. They improve the vacuum performance noticeably. I hope Kobalt continues to update the line with new tools.

    Kobalt! Happy to see this video, and the testing. Best traditional batteries out there IMO. 6 Samsung Cells for less money than the 5 cell 18V brands in a very similar size case. Not to mention a glass fiber case that DeWalt & Milwaukee charge extra for in an 'oil resistant' case. They're outstanding for electronic projects as well due to the cost.

      @@stephaneroy8415 Incorrect. There can be 10. But, it's always a multiple of 5. 5 is the minimum. It's just how they're laid out. 4v (3.6) x 5 = 20v (18)

    I use either the 2AH or Ultimate 4AH. 2AH on impact for most tasks due to light weight. Any saws use 4AH Ultimate. Nice video!

    Interesting that the "Tools Tested" channel had the 4Ah HO battery testing worse than the standard 4Ah on his dyno. He tested speed and power on the drills on the dyno until it reaches max torque then stops. Channel is quite good, although that result does seem odd.

      It's a weak market for knockoff Kobalt batteries because it's a less popular/regionally limited brand and the legit batteries are so affordable.

    Hi. What difference would there be. Compare a 4amp extended to 5 amp extended run time kobalt 24v batteries

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  4 місяці тому

      Extended runtime is a marketing term. Maybe you get 21700 cells over 18650, but amp hour is amp hour, so a normal 4 amp hour battery would have the same runtime as a 4 amp hour extended runtime battery.

    IM having a hard time choosing the right battery , maybe you can help. I can get the newest 4ah battery and a 6Ah from previous generation , both for 99.99 canadian.
    Based on your test , i beleive i'm better off with the 6ah , cause of more stable voltage and recovery time and overall battery capacity , but newer can deliver as much power for short period of time while draining faster in those conditions.
    My real concern is that i read that 21700 cells are rated for 250 cycle life charges wich is low compared to the advertized 500 cycles for 18650 cells.
    What's your opinion on this?

    better than Ryobi in terms of value.

    • @orijimi
      @orijimi 2 роки тому

      The more important point is that the tools are better designed, especially before the HP line. Albeit, as if we've seen on the channel, there's reliability issues with some of 'em. But the real delta between Kobalt and Ryobi is the number of tools on the platform.
