Of all the restoration channels I watch, yours is my most favorite. Old school manual work! No power tools! All natural and restored materials! Amazing! All the best to you.
Привет мой друг Борис!👋👋👋 как всегда рад видеть тебя и с удовольствием посмотрел новый видос, я доволен результатом твоей работы, получилось супер 👌🏽👍👍👍💣💥
Brilliant, that knife has obviously had a hard life and done much work, it has earned being restored and landed with the right person to do it justice, think this is your best knife restoration so far, all you have learned since starting certainly paid off for this one and was showcased for all to see, well done
I love old school stuff being restored. It shows you how well made things were back then, plus seeing them get a new lease on life is awesome. Now, if you can just figure out how to do that for human beings, I would like to book an appointment please?
Yyyyessss... It's not only that the restaurations that I prefer are the knives ones... but also this ones that has a keen perspective of restauration by definition... That means : Bringing to life as much as posible, and keeping all the peases and only replacing tha ones that needs to be replaced, instead of changing almost all to "improve" the peace... Cheers... PD : I think it's a Boy scouts knife.
@@shofarox4037 The grips are mostly stag on these knives. With a stick-tang they are not the sturdiest of knives, that's thru. The blade has lost a lot of it's original shape. Most are made between the 50's and 70's.
Very nice job on the knife. Also happy to see you’ve added more light to your recording setup. Maybe not as “authentic” but much easier on the eyes as a viewer. Bravo.
I have a knife in about as bad a shape as the one you just worked on and was wondering if it was worth the effort to bring it back to life. After seeing the vid it will be attempted in the near future. Thanks for restore.
Well done I especially liked your preservation of the stag handle scales and hand work . After watching many restoration UA-cam videos where the handle gets broken and tossed it is nice to see the original one reused Great video Perhaps a water trough on the old stone grinder would be an improvement? Reminds me of my grandfather's shop Peace
Thank you Johnny! Well noted! Temperature goes under freezing point at this point in my shop and having stone soaked with water could potentially brake it. Therefore I am doing smaller items that are just fine without water. Have a good one!
I would be proud to hang that on my belt. Well done. Also,I've never seen a leather knife like the one you used, others have always been 1/2moon shape. Yours is a beauty...
Very nice. I enjoyed this video very much. And for whatever reason,(can't put my finger on it, but, maybe the handle) this is MY favorite knife that you have done, at least in a while. Not that the other ones weren't great. I would be proud to take this knife hunting. Clean a rabbit, or squirrel, or skin a deer with it. Good job.
Is there somewhere one that was interested in this hobby find out what minerals you use to break down the rust, grim and all that good stuff thanks in advance
I really like what you do But I noticed some things you might watch, I saw you tried to file the blade but you can't file hardened steel and it would ruin your file. Also here the construction doesn't seem air tight, would have it been possible to get the scales flattened?
Why the hand drill instead of an electric drill? I absolutely love stuff like this and it always gets my attention is it to be more precise or was your power turned off??? (Ignore the power off comment I was just messing with you but I really am curious as to why. Thank you and God Bless you!!! Keith
You are an amazing craftsman and have some serious skills! I absolutely love all of your non powered tools. All this and you also know how to film and edit!?!? I’m curious how you learned how to do all of this? I love binge watching all the videos. Well done!
👍 Nice job! If you ever want to sell some of your restored knives please let me know. What is the liquid you pour into the beaker with the rusted metal parts?
I have a dear antler knife made by rite edge and I have a Bowie knife made by white tail Cuttery the handle is made out of ivory and it has a steel palmel and the blade was warped but I fixed it
Well done brother! Stunning outcome for that tatty old blade 👍👍👍. Do you at least use some modern day hand cleaner? Otherwise you'll get banned from the dinner table with those hard-working hands 😁. 😎
Thanks for keeping the antler scales. They look great. Good work!

There are many variations of these little hunting knifes. Most came from the Solingen region in Germany.
In which period of time hunting knives were so thin that they could bend, and had plastic hand grips...?

Increible. gracias
Классная работа!давно ножей не было

I am surprised you were able to get it so shiny without any pitting! That must have been a lot of sanding!!
Luckily the blade was thick enough to grind away all the pittings. It took me forever on the stone wheel though ... Thanks for watching!

The knife is a Marbles knife made in Escanaba Michigan
👍💯
I didn’t think it would be possible to restore it, beyond salvage but you did the impossible. What kind of material was the handle made of?.
Thank you again so much. It is made out of antlers.
... лучше бы конечно полировать на элетростанке, чем на ручном!-, а работа отличная клинок бы заоксидировать, чтобы больше не ржавел!!!

I'm currently working on my ww2 pal Rh 36 knife I'm making it out of wood slabs because I don't have any bone material to make it bone
Very good, I just restored one recently ua-cam.com/video/pymNpa-3aWs/v-deo.html
Do you have leather? Handles for them are made out of leather rings...
@@FFD_Restorations no
I wish I could use leather rings but then I gotta take the aluminum palmel off and then added it if I had leather rings
Where did you find it
I got it from a guy who sold me some old tools a long time ago.
Yup.
👍
Horrible knife but beautiful and respectful restoration!!!!! Love the care and techniques.
It seems to me that it might have been a skinner type blade before being worn down(through use and sharpening).
Kinda like a Marbles skinner....
Yeah, it could be! Great suggestion!
Some restoration videos will tell you exactly what the are using
