What a beautiful transformation. Especially love this channel because of the tools and "elbow grease" that are used. Watching your video is a great way to start my week. Thank you for posting and look forward to your next one. 👍
I've watched a lot if knife restoration videos in the past 2 months, and I have to give you kudos. Restoring a knife correctly is a bit of work with modern tools... doing so with NO power tools is legendary! Hats off to you good sir!
Hello. There are very many cleaver restorations on UA-cam but i still enjoy watching quality restorations like this. You do it with respect for the tool.
Hello Boris , thanks for another video. Beautiful looking cleaver. You inspire me to start my own little workshop. I have the tools but I don't have the space. I'm sure your grandfather in heaven is very proud of you.
Hey Eddie! That is wonderful to hear. I started in a small room in the apartment and after some time I was fortunate to have a bigger space. Start to work on things that you can manage in the smallest possible space and go from there. After no time you will figure it out I am sure 😉
I forgot to mention last time when i commented what is your channel about probably the most important reason why are you doing restorations by hand and to you and me it's a lot of fun doing it hard way however others probably don't share yours and mine opinion. Nicely done!
No worries, thank you for understanding and reading about page. The reason is very simple but many can't understand it unfortunately. You would be surprised how much time I spent removing hate comments. Some of them where quite extreme. But on the other hand there is a lot of wonderful people like you to support this channel and help me to make new videos! Thank you for that, much appreciated! Take care!
The sound of the vintage tools ✌🏻🌟 I like your workshop and your way of work. Perfect restoration and thank you for this gorgeous 13 minutes. See you soon ⚒️🗜️
Wow! Again I am so impressed at what you can do with rusty pitted metal and only hand tools! The shine and look is amazing. Great job. Sorry about your accident… I’m so prone to do that and always keep bandaids handy.
Hey Kathy, thank you so much 😃👍 I probably should stick to smaller metal surfaces, cleaver is maybe a bit much for this setup. After this injury, I will keep a few bandaids in the shop. Thanks for mentioning it 👍
Been quite some time since I watched your videos. Always good to be back. I noticed a lot of upgrade in your workshop. Really proud of how far you've come. Kinda miss the old workshop. Probably because I like things minimal. But loving your work anyways. Hope you're doing great, Boris!
Well done yet again, perfect restoration again, sympathetically done and not loosing all the blades history, this really is the best restoration channel on UA-cam, come a very long way in a short time, congrats on all of it
Good job, as always...lots of patience and effort...paid off, no question. 1 thing...what were you striking the rivetting hammer with? I ask because you should never strike 2 hammers face to face...there is a great risk of splintering...sharp shards of steel at very high speeds...VERY dangerous. Just in case...
Thank you Patrick! I used two hammers (8oz each). I have never experienced that before, it is great that you mentioned it. Thank you. I will pay attention to that next time 👍 Take care!
My new favourite channel - the fact that you manage such beautiful restorations with modest tools and a lot of hard work is inspirational. Time to start raiding local boot sales!
That's a really neat old German double horned anvil. Can you tell us about it? How old is that anvil and who is the maker? Thanks!! Oh, I use a double horned anvil as well. My favorite style. Great job on the cleaver!!
Yeah it is! Please find more information in this post: ua-cam.com/channels/gYZRpMFaXycXzKmzKjmNiQ.htmlcommunity?lb=Ugxa3hCuwzE2FKuMA-t4AaABCQ Thanks again
@@FFD_Restorations -- Excellent, thanks!! Wow 320 to 420 years old!! It's a very unique anvil. It has a very broad base parallel with the face. This is good because it keeps a lot of mass under most of the anvils working surface . Just imagine all the work that has been done on this anvil. You're very luck to find such a great tool of history!!
literally handmade, even the machines, congratulations friend great work
Thank you so much my friend!
