eBay is a funny place, I once got a negative review (and partial refund request) because I used too much packaging, it was a 7 pound film camera that buddy just paid $1000 for lmfao
My dad worked for California Food Market, and during a renovation he found a VERY old ginger ale can. It was the kind with a round twist top like an oil can. We put it on eBay and it started a bidding war. It went up to $7,400. Crazy what will sell on there.
A guy once told me when he worked at Walmart, he would take the new consoles out back, slide it under the steps, than after work take it home and sell it.
@@DarkZenithnot supposed to. That would cause many issues with inventory and as one comment stated earlier the systems have a street date check that refuses the system to sell early. The only way I can think would be for them to take serial numbers down before letting them go then once the street date hits to make it like a normal sale, but that would mean the employee is taking without paying ( according to the system) and that is theft lol.
I know a dude who used to steal consoles and games from gamestop's freight trucks, and then resell them on ebay. Dude had lots of problems and acted similar to this guy, in person.
Good example- guy stole 50 copies of Fable 2, a week before they hit shelves. Sold two to a friend of mine, and one was bent and wouldn't read because he shoved all of them down his pants to get them past a security checkpoint. Guy tells my friend "bro I can only give you half the money back, because I'm already taking a loss unloading them for this price," while I'm standing there, and we all know full well where he got them the night before.
yo, 60 dollars is all this scammer ebay seller can refund you, bruh, decline that crap, considering the fact that a ps5 pro is 700 and you paid 800 plus shipping for what the seller considers a "brand new" console when it's condition is a notch below, he should in all honesty be giving you 150 back, if you ask me.
Agree. He needs to learn how to conduct real business and that cheap packing like that should not be tolerated, especially for a product as expensive and delicate like that.
Never accept the first offer. I have had many dealings when selling phones to small businesses and they will always low-ball you, so I always go in with a high-ball amount and then meet somewhere around 60/40 or 70/30 in my favor
I’m currently working for one of the big box retailers, and we were unable to even purchase the PS5 Pro on our system. Also there isn’t a discount for the console at the moment, so most likely this person acquired it illegally.
Probably works for the retailer and used a 100% discount. The risk of being caught as a stolen console is dependant on how fastidious a store scans serial numbers into their stock database. If the store has no idea what serial numbers it was selling, it can't report a specific console to Sony. It's also possible that Sony accidentally shipped early. AND shipped a box of 2. But- doubt that. I recall the original shipping box of PS5s at launch is 3 PS5s to 1 box. I have more than a few instances of buying 1 item and receiving the wholesale box amount- so getting a box of 6.
My store always had 2 to one box. That is how all our consoles arrive. He probably did steal or buy a box from the back of a shady van which is what his picture is ( the retail box). Find it funny he couldn't even bother to use that box in his picture for overnight shipping lol.
I used to work at a warehouse where all the PlayStation bundles were made, and they gave us the discount on those consoles of like 50-100$ and it was in 2021 So i think the guy got them from there I use to sell these on FB market place as well in 2021-22 when the supply was low was able to make easily 100$-200$ per unit
I would try to get at least $100 or more refunded, mostly because of the awful packaging. The console would not have been damaged if the scammer would've at least put it in a box to protect it.
@@TheCommanderTaco If you watched the unboxing video the system was wrapped in the thin material that they all come in and was in the foam ends that they sit in inside the box.

As a delivery driver and worked in warehhses, I can tell you that being labeled "fragile" means absolutely nothing. Everything gets thrown around from warehouse to warehouse.
Having worked in retail for over 30+ years, my opinion is that, they most likely work for Walmart or even Game Stop and knew when the shipments were to arrive. The cases will be marked with, "DO NOT PUT OUT BEFORE, etc.". I'm going to guess, they were going to quit anyways. So they were able to get them out of the store without anyone noticing. Walmart ships them on their trucks. Game Stop, I'm not sure. Walmart now sells computer parts and before they were on shelves, I actually saw what they were getting in before they put them on display. Little by little, new shipments came in. I have 2 jobs and one, I go from store to store and one day, I seen a power supply. Then the next week, graphics card. They had just come off their trucks. So yes, my theory is they were taken, most likely from Walmart.
When I worked at gamestop, things like that generally came via FedEx. We didn't have our own trucks. I did, however, work at a smaller store. However, we did put everything into inventory when we got them and our system would tell us what came in each box (and what to expect).
everyone has their means of trying to survive in this world and earn some money, bro was most probably just trying to do business but didn't knew how to do it correctly and i don't think the condition of the console was too bad. he will learn to ship better next time i guess
manager at gamestop here. employee discount is 15%. with the pro is 20%. however pro doesn't do anything on new consoles. could use the 10% shopworn discount but it's frowned upon to use on new consoles. and manually overriding the price would just set up red flags.
My dad bought a brand new intellivison that looked immaculate in the photos but the seller opened it up to make sure the console was in there and also wrapped it the exact same way with inside our wrapping paper. Thankfully only one corner was dented a bit and the console itself was still factory shrink wrapped inside the box
Gamestop only gives employees discounts on console bundles not just the console it's self. When my gf worked at a game stop and we bought our ps5 I had to get a god of war edition to get her discount.
Brings back memories when I bought my ps5 slim from a pawn shop, and it didn’t allow me to log in, found out the console was banned and had to go back and switched it for another slim which they gave me the same price for $400😂 Yes I told them about it and banned the person that came in with it.
Definitely go for more you have video evidence of how it arrived to you. It had clearly already been opened because the way it was in the box is not factory. It’s a used console, even if it was never plugged in. It was taken out of the box.
As a former GameStop employee, I can confirm (as of last year) that the employee discount does NOT work on new consoles and would not discount it that much even if it did. Based on my experience with the company, I *highly* doubt that policy has changed.

No, this guy stole a retail shipment 📦. With quantities being limited per store, they were probably being sent FedEx in those boxes of 2. When the allotments increase, they’ll ship to retailers on pallets wrapped in black plastic & management will be notified to be at dock when trailer seal is broken.
Personally myself I would never buy off ebay ..I have had 2 bad experiences the 2 times I did so never again from ebay..and second I would definitely not pay more then what the item cost just to have it a day early
Maybe the seller did what he had to do to ship it right then and there and didnt have another box bigger than the system and just winged it. The damage was probably in transit and opened by carrier
Yeah new or low sale accounts can only sell a certain amount each month if I remember correctly. I've used and sold on my account for years, but I do remember that being a thing at first. Odd though.
Take the partial refund and be done with it stop asking questions. You got the console early be happy you did. Dude should’ve sent it packaged differently, but that’s part of the gamble you get with haggling some eBay guy
The listing said it was new. It was not. The seal being broken and things moved around/crinkled inside makes it a used item. Jacob paid a premium for a brand new item and didn't get one. Cut and dry, item not as described. He's completely entitled to a refund.
Sometimes when you purchase a pallet (of maybe 10 items) you can be offered a discount, it might have been this; standard business practice I think? Or warehouse clearance - which wouldn't apply in this case as the items were brand new. It still could be the former though? There's no real excuse for the packaging and the fact it had been opened though; except maybe for photographing the item, or making sure it worked okay. Just my thoughts on this one.
You made your original video and took the item fully apart, even removed the Warranty seal? What more do you want, you should have sent the item straight back to the seller without making the video and taking the console apart. All I see is two people, buyer and seller, trying to get something for nothing here. Because you took the console apart it now should be considered yours. Yes the packaging was lacking and the box was indeed open, however you opened the console. You need to bear some responsibility for the console not being “brand new” now. To be honest, I think you’ve done more to make this console used than the seller ever did!
I would worry about it being stolen. I hope not. Maybe he works for a store that sells them and they let him buy some before the launch date. I would return it if you can incase of problems later on like getting banned. Good luck.
First of all no one can legally get the console early unless you are sent one by Sony themselves. (say for review) Any retailer can loose their ability to get more product from Sony if they sell it before the sell date. My guess is he bought them from someone who stole the systems from a shipping company or a store that got them early but was not supposed to sell them till the launch. As for a return, that's up to you. I'm a collector and I would be pissed and want to return it. But if you just want the system and use it and don't care about the box. if system and everything else looks good, runs great then keep it. its up to you.
"First of all no one can legally get the console early" Brick-and-mortar stores undoubtedly have stock by now. They probably had stock by Monday. So to say that nobody can legally get the console early is just flat out untrue.
If you keep it and you really need the box for some reason, you can have mine if you pay for whatever the shipping is. I don't care about the boxes, but I keep them anyway. Then I see the condition yours was shipped in and that seller is probably going to do as much ebay account hopping as they can with the future negative feedback they'll likely be getting.
I would at the very least counter back with $80. His shipping method tells me he barely had enough money to cover the shipping. I'd stand firm on the $100 and accept no less than 80 considering the $17 extra shipping cost
The picture of the ps5 that was in the box looks like the box that the ps5 actually gets shipped in to retail stores. They always come in a box of 2. Def sketchy
I know I know, I was supposed to post an episode today. I just had to post this since it’s so relevant lol, I’ll have Hampton mega haul episodes this Friday and sunday
It really doesn't matter. You took the PS5 apart and separated all of the heat syncs. What you're doing to him is just as bad as how he acquired it. That system is now yours. If you had an issue with the item you shouldn't have damaged it yourself. I say damage because now it requires repairs
I'm thinking you just didn't watch the video, because I clearly ask for a partial refund. Him shipping me a used console and a damaged box should 100% result in some sort of refund... I ordered a new console. You're right, it is mine now, and I could smash the console into 1000 pieces if I wanted to - it doesn't take away from the fact that the value of the console I purchased is lower than what it should have been because the seller sold me a used console without a shipping box. Hence, the reason I asked for a partial refund and not to return it... it can't be this hard to understand, can it? No idea where you are getting the fact that the console requires repairs now either. Taking the heatsinks apart is part of the disassembly process, and they went back together fine and the console still works fine. And either way it doesn't matter, because like I said, I asked for a partial refund not a return.....
I am a former gamestop employee, you can’t get any discounts on brand new systems. You could on brand new video games, accessories, etc, but not brand new systems. Probably stolen, i’d return.
I used to work in retail and no he can't use a discount until 2 weeks after an items has been released, that goes fir games and consoles. Bro is a big scam.
I got a ps5 from a cousins friend who sold it to me for 100$ extra then he told sony he never got it and they banned it, wouldn't be surprised if that happens with yours
😂😂😂 I don't know who it's gonna be... But dude not being able to access his money due to that complaint... He's bout to scam the hell outta the next person when meanwhile he was straight up and sent it. You done documented the hell out of the transaction and get paid for content. $7-800 is probably like $50 to you. Coulda just hit Sony up and did research on the serial number. You might as well flip that joint and order from PS Direct so if it gets bricked in the next few days you're safe. 😂
@BurntMike26 I'm dead serious. That system might get bricked and there's nothing he can do about it if so. He'll be okay tho. This could never be a loss for him. You know how the rich get rich? They feed the cost to the poor and ignorant. There's literally no other way to um "capitalize" in a capitalist society and the book Wealth of Nations that was published on the 4th of July in 1776 which was the guide to the invention of capitalism is about 900 pages explaining that on each of the 900 pages. His issue was not that the guy was a scammer or ripped someone else off, it was that he wanted to capitalize as much as he possibly could so even though it was a killer deal, he still wanted his money back too which means even more capitalization. Even though he says he was skeptical about the seller and even though he's saying that he felt like dude scammed someone else or stole it he still was clear that he wanted to keep it not try to trace steps AND he wanted as much back as possible. How clear was all that?
At this point having been played with and disassembled its not fair to the seller to return the console like that. It definitely should’ve been packed better.
I would just return it honestly..you can go to retailers tomorrow and get 1 for the standard price of $700 and it will be in a sealed box ..then you atleast have piece of mind that it's not stolen or some other shady crap going on..
I was under the impression you were buying faulty products from scammers for content. There is no way you were ever surprised or confused you received a beat up box of crap here, right? You explained every step of being scammed by shady people and then you're somehow shocked when you receive exactly what you should expect from these messages

Yeah new or low sale accounts can only sell a certain amount each month if I remember correctly. I've used and sold on my account for years, but I do remember that being a thing at first. Odd though.
Another Amazing video 😁
Take the partial refund and be done with it stop asking questions. You got the console early be happy you did. Dude should’ve sent it packaged differently, but that’s part of the gamble you get with haggling some eBay guy
The listing said it was new. It was not. The seal being broken and things moved around/crinkled inside makes it a used item. Jacob paid a premium for a brand new item and didn't get one. Cut and dry, item not as described. He's completely entitled to a refund.
@@BurntMike26 the pro isn’t out yet so it’s still new really just he opened the box. Not like he’s been using it for weeks is it
@@intergaming8319 New means sealed on eBay. At least know what you're talking about before you make such an absolute statement.
@@BurntMike26 so sorry
"I'm a legit business man" then goes on to say "b4" and spell like an illiterate teenager
Sounds scetchyy😭 everything about it
Sometimes when you purchase a pallet (of maybe 10 items) you can be offered a discount, it might have been this; standard business practice I think?
I mean, did you completely miss the part where I'm intentionally asking for a partial refund? lol
The console was not brand new when Jacob got it, so I don't know what you are talking about here Billy.
I got mine today from PS Direct and my horizontal stands shifted out of place.
I would worry about it being stolen. I hope not. Maybe he works for a store that sells them and they let him buy some before the launch date. I would return it if you can incase of problems later on like getting banned. Good luck.
You should return it, people shouldn't be allowed to ship expensive items like that but not take accountability for it!
First of all no one can legally get the console early unless you are sent one by Sony themselves. (say for review)
Any retailer can loose their ability to get more product from Sony if they sell it before the sell date.
"First of all no one can legally get the console early"
Brick-and-mortar stores undoubtedly have stock by now. They probably had stock by Monday. So to say that nobody can legally get the console early is just flat out untrue.
It can be a GameStop manager they get a free system when it’s launched
If you keep it and you really need the box for some reason, you can have mine if you pay for whatever the shipping is. I don't care about the boxes, but I keep them anyway. Then I see the condition yours was shipped in and that seller is probably going to do as much ebay account hopping as they can with the future negative feedback they'll likely be getting.
Weird that you and Austin Evans both have one
Yup return it better safe then sorry if it gets banned for being stolen
Either stolen or an employee selling them before retail release. Either way exactly how i would expect the transaction to go
Broken seal new item on eBay is considered "open box"
I would at the very least counter back with $80. His shipping method tells me he barely had enough money to cover the shipping. I'd stand firm on the $100 and accept no less than 80 considering the $17 extra shipping cost
He stole that crap off the UPS truck 😅😂😮
see if he will do a video call for the channel and explain his side of the story, that would be funny
The picture of the ps5 that was in the box looks like the box that the ps5 actually gets shipped in to retail stores. They always come in a box of 2. Def sketchy
I'm done with eBay. Full of scammers and BS.
Gamestop employee discount is definitely NOT $100 off lmao. Not even with pro member points
Hey yo. Wanna buy a hot….errrr…I mean BRAND NEW PS5 for $17?😂😂
Where is Hampton mega haul?! 😭
I know I know, I was supposed to post an episode today. I just had to post this since it’s so relevant lol, I’ll have Hampton mega haul episodes this Friday and sunday
@jrob0021 ah ok, looking forward to it!
I mean, the fact that it was listed before launch day was already sketchy af, like, what did you expect?
Part of the problem for just buying from eBay
It really doesn't matter. You took the PS5 apart and separated all of the heat syncs. What you're doing to him is just as bad as how he acquired it. That system is now yours. If you had an issue with the item you shouldn't have damaged it yourself. I say damage because now it requires repairs
Exactly
Just got mine legit! Transfering files from the old crusty one as we speak.
Why was the shipping so high???
I used to work in retail and no he can't use a discount until 2 weeks after an items has been released, that goes fir games and consoles. Bro is a big scam.
Does it have anything to do with yardsaledale
I hope you are joking because your entire message reeks of nonexistent morals
I wouldn't have even bought it in the first place, that whole situation was sketch
At this point having been played with and disassembled its not fair to the seller to return the console like that. It definitely should’ve been packed better.
Watched the whole vid. Is it even legit a real p5pro lol
The refund should be 100 the console was poorly shipped in a bag that to me is a red flag. I will definitely go higher on the refund.
I'd just accept it to put the drama behind me, then blacklist the seller.
Probably a FedEx driver/Ups drivers friend who got a nice easy delivery
I'm pretty sure these fell out of a truck and were sent in the same condition as they were after falling off said truck.
Stop crying!
You knew what you were getting into.
I would definitely decline that refund offer and just do a full return.
I'd return it if I were you. What a crazy situation.
dude got it via the poophole loophole
I've been a seller for years. This guy is not a "legit business man" lmao. It's ultimately your responsibility until the buyer recieves the item AS DESCRIBED and is satisfied.
I would never sell to you ever lol the box. All a waste of time did the console even work?
That seller was hilarious
9:33 he touched something in there! 🤣🤣🤣. Y did U buy off this weird guy knowing it's a scam ?! Just to get it early. I really hope U showed eBay evidence and got full refund. Commenting this at 9'33 while paused
