Thank you for this video! My cousin recently lifted me her old vacuum. I changed the filter and empties the bag without success. Still no suction so I saw this video and checked the hose. The hose was backed up big time. I used a screwdriver to lose the clog. Viola it's working again! 😊thank you
I have to admit, I was Super SCEPTICAL about this being effective because my vaccuum hadn't worked properly for years. HOWEVER, THIS DID INDEED WORK!! A simple taking it apart and (especially cleaning the roller) was all it needed for my vacuum to work like new! So relieved I don't have to buy a new vacuum 😁
We have not used the vacuum in months due to it not suctioning so we were ready to trash it. I'm glad I decided to troubleshoot instead of trashing it. It was really disgusting having to remove the debris from the hose. Hopefully no more clogs again. The video was helpful.
Thank you so much. I'm a housekeeper and was wondering why there was no suction watched this video, OMG. I WAS CLOGGED ON BOTH ENDS!! Putting it back together now. Can't wait to use. Thanks so much!!
This video saved me at least 100 bucks, I had a huge clogin the hose and was about to buy a new vac, but this simple video showed me how to unclog the hose, thanks so much!
I come across a lot of vacuums that are thrown out due to not seeing what the solution is.most of the time it's the belt, cleaning, stopped up,filter or they feel its easier to buy another one. What I do is take everything apart checking to see the problem is with a good cleaning each part then returning it to the person or giving it away .😊❤
Great video..... Now I don't have to get another vacuum cleaner or get it fixed because your great visor help me fix my Bissell vacuum cleaner.....thank you so much such a life saver for moms.....
@@bissell So weeks ago I found a bissell powerforce compact 23t77 and I cleaned out the hole intire vacuum and it has low suction is it because it was made good back than?
Thank you so much for this video, it just save me from trashing the forth vacuum because of not suctioning. I just follow your instructions on this video now and my vacuum start suctioning even better than when I just bought it.
Wow! Thank you so much , I was able to fix my vacuum the hose was clogged, I have a older model , not the one in the video but very similar system . Now my vacuum is suctioning again! Thank you again!
Thank you for this! I was about to buy a new vacum but I decided to try this first. I removed the plate and sure enough there was obstruction at the end of the hose. I removed it and now its working. Now warning the screws are hard as hell to remove at first but its definitely worth the try.
Like others, I didn't think this was gonna work, but, lo and behold, IT DID!! Hubby was ready to buy a new vacuum, but I was like give me a chance to fix this!! The filter needed replacing and there was a massive amount of fur in the housing compartment. I'll know to look for that in the future, especially since we have two cats now!
We've had our vaccine for 3 years. I recently took it apart to unclog the tubes and so on anyway I totally used your video to kind of help me know exactly where everything goes😅
OMG, I just cleaned my vacuum and I had done nothing and I mene\ nothing except empty the tank the brush was filled with hair and the hose and filter were badly clogged. The vacuum uns very well and is not so loud thack you so much Bissell I have had this vacuum since 2017 I don't know how the motor did not bounce out lol
Re: ★ Check that the foam disk filter in the tank lid is clean, how do you clean it, with water? I took it outside & tried to take a stiff dry brush to it, which insufficiently sent out a dusty brown cloud, yuk. 😝 Seems like it should have a run under water maybe with a bit of vinegar or baking soda, then air dry before replace? Re: ★ Checking and clearing out the foot hose behind the foot brush, since the recliner lever only helps semi-straighten that hose, (ie doesn't allow it to quite fully straighten), a broomstick is too straight to pass the slight bend. Therefore a different kind of long bendy device is needed, but also needs to be soft enough not to puncture the plastic hose wall. I imagined something like a small stiff foam cylinder type thing- (think mini pool noodle) would be ideal, but I have nothing like that. A sock on a deconstructed bent wire hanger might work, but too much work to construct on the fly. Finally I got creative to twist an empty cardboard paper towel roll into an adequately flexible (albeit challenging) poker/ dislodger of the dusty hairy clog I'd seen in there with a flashlight. Re: ★ Repositioning the foot brush into place after foot hose clear, FYI due to the rubber belt tension, NOT at all as easy as in this vid, and I hurt my hand trying to do it. 😭 Re: ★ This instruction vid, yes I am grateful for it, and for it finally occurring to me to search on UA-cam, (meanwhile suffering for months with the inefficient suction.) So I wonder why the heck a proper instruction booklet didn't come with this vacuum cleaner. - - I loved it's suction power on carpet when I first got it, and was satisfied to see all the cat hair extracted into the clear tank. I just had no clue about how to manage the parts, nor about possible clogs and how can DIY resolve. - - Ha, for the first few months until discovering another UA-cam explanation about how the wand detaches (for more efficient use of the attachment brush and crevice nozzle), I struggled atttempting to use those attachments pieces on the end of the inadequately short hose, instead of the handle wand. (Thankfully nobody was around to hear my colorful language during my awkward couch cleaning attempts that way. 😜) Re: ★ Tip for pet owners per my vet's advice re: flea management 🦟🚫: Although vacuuming regularly can keep fleas from infesting a carpet, NOTE: If you don't empty the tank pronto, (ie if you park the vacuum even in a closet with debris still in tank), any fleas captured into the tank can easily escape back into the home and onto your pet. The vet's good advice is to empty the tank immediately after each use, AND best to do it outside to dispose of OUT of the house asap. (Misting the dust would prevent regular dust flying up while dumping into trash, but the outside pronto disposal advice applies only to a flea concern.) I love this tip, and the perk of my now declogged Bissell vacuum as a powerful tool, besides for basic cleaning, to help keep ahead of further flea risk. 😌👍
OMG, there was literally a dirt log in the tube. I was able to get that out and flush out the trapped dirt in the tube near the roller. The suction on this vacuum cleaner is insane!!! Thank you so much for the easy to follow video.
Ive had this vaccum for a little over a year and I have had to clean it out almost everytime. Not from the reserve but from the bottom hose. Until recently even that wouldnt help. I was ready to buy a new one all together until I found this video today I unscrewed and cleaned out everything and its back to new. I hope for a long time.
I’ve been fcking with my vacuum for two weeks now! The hose “looked” clear from both ends, but after a much more careful inspection, there was a HUGE clog right in the middle of the hose. It was mostly carpet fibers mixed with pine needles from the Christmas tree. I was getting ready to throw it away and buy a new one!
Ok I will open it now, and if it results that I needs a new brush or a new belt, where do I buy it?? Please answer me cuz I cant afford to buy a new one specially since I just got.this one a.little bit than half year ago.
if its stuck on both ends the black piece where the hose connects comes off easily as well just on or two screws. be-careful not to pack the dirt with the broom try to pull out with fingers (gross i know) but it'll help loosen it to get the broom handle in with one motion and save time.
Hi Bissell, bought this recently , I'm kind of new to disassembling things , is it possible for u to tell me the exact screw driver size ? Thanks for the wonderful video by the way.
This definitely did the job, but when I started to vacuum I started to smell something burning! I quickly turned it off and unplugged it. I unscrewed the cover to see if it was something visible, but it wasn't. What do I need to do now!
Mine did same thing but was brush roll and it wasnt spinning therefore causeing belt to not move and burn i lubricated brush roll and now it works great
Dear Bissell, please include the right product manual with the right model. The model 3313U has the same product manual as the model 3313. The 3313U has only a pre filter and the 3313 model has a pre and post filter. I spent unnecessary time looking for a pre and post filter because of product manual that came with the model 3313U. I watched this video, but the model number should have included to make things clearer.
If u can remove the hose all together from vacuum u can rince it under tub spout or sink or hose and let dry for a day or so. Thats best way is to literally clean everything.
I just bought this vacuum had used it for two weeks and the belt started to burn. I made sure to remove any tangled hairs after every other room I cleaned :( I was hoping if I took care of it, it would last longer guess not.
Mine did that when the brush roll wouldnt spin once i fixed brush roll and got it spinning it didnt snoke anymore but i did get a tiny burn marknon belt but vacuum works great sounds louder but i did lubricate brish roll a smidge
I thought this thing deep cleans carpet? Or there's it only pick up dust and dirt etc? So? Do I have to put stuff on my carpet to get the stuff out of my carpet?
Hi Niqua - this is a dry vacuum and will pick up dust, dirt, and debris from your carpets. You do not have to put anything down to vacuum it up. If you have additional questions, please give us a call! 1-800-237-7691

I was about to go buy a new vacuum when all I needed was a $5 belt replacement. I’m so thankful I found this video first!
Where did you find the belt?
Thank you for this video. Mine wasn't picking up. Checked the hose and it was clogged. Works like new again. ♥️

Is there a release button for the post-motor filter? Been scouring UA-cam & Google with no answers
