    I REALLY hope that Honda will someday bring back the Accord V6 Coupe. The last model year it was made was 2017. 😢

    That's a nice looking Civic. For a 170hp vs 270 hp who would of thought it would be so close. Good Job Miranda! Do you know if the anti-slip was taken off the Civic? Do you think aerodynamics has a role in the drag race? These are really entertaining videos and very informative. I actually watched this twice :)

      Thanks for your comment!
      Yeah agreed, both vehicles look sharp!
      This race was FAR closer than both of us imagined it would be, what a surprise!
      The traction control was off on both vehicles and surprisingly the Civic got off to a really good start, which helped it keep up with the RDX.
      Based on what we have seen, it seems as though Aerodynamics does play a pretty big role, despite being only a 1/4 mile race. I actually wouldn't be all that surprised if the Civic ended up winning against the Acura in a 1/2 mile race... Maybe we can make that happen one day 😊😊
      Glad you enjoyed the video and again, thanks for your comment!

      Actually if you do the weight to weight ratio it makes a big difference. Where the civic doesn't hit 3000 lbs and the rdx does weight about 4000 lbs and both on the heavy side of the spec. Plus the weight of the man and the women aren't the same either. So, this race isn't much of a surprise.

      @@brakkins1904 Thanks for your comment. We did the math for power to weight before the race and it’s still quite a difference.
      RDX is a hair over 2 US tons which means 135 HP/Ton and 139 Tq/Ton.
      The Civic is 1.45 US Tons which means 120 HP/Ton and 111 Tq/Ton
      So that’s a pretty substantial difference considering how close the race was, even despite the relatively small difference in weight between the two drivers (maybe 50-60lbs total)
      We think it was because the CVT transmission allowed the Civic to stay in boost for the whole race.
      Overall though, we had a great time and were both surprised at how well the Civic kept up :)

    That d/s button that he pressed isn’t “sport mode” it’s in sequential shift mode. You can place sport mode or sport plus mode in the dynamic knob

      At 4:47, Sport + was engaged through the Dynamic Control Knob :) Cheers

    Its impressive to see it. My lady has has the 2021 RDX SH-AWD and they are very quick vehicles.That means the 2022 Civic SI 1.5 Turbo 200hp will be faster than RDX?

    • @KingdomAuto
      @KingdomAuto  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah those RDX’s are fun little SUV’s for sure :)
      What really helped the Civic keep up as well as it did in this race was the CVT, it helps keep the car in boost the entire time and doesn’t have to “shift”
      In theory, the 10th and 11th generation Si’s should be faster than the regular 1.5T Civic’s in the 1/4 mile but a lot of it would likely be down to the launch and how fast the driver can change gears.

    In my 2017 ex t coupe I run 91 premium with a 6 speed and i can confirm it makes a difference in HP and performace . I recommend it to any 10th gen civic 1.5 turbo owner. Also remember the 1.5 turbo is underrated from Honda. That 174 bhp is more like 200ish bhp. Hondata and other respectable tuners have dynoed the car at around 180ish or more horse power. 😁

    • @KingdomAuto
      @KingdomAuto  2 роки тому +1

      Good to know - both vehicles in this race were running on premium fuel to keep things as even as possible. And yes, those 1.5’s can really go with a tune and a few bolt ones :)

    • @shadlad91
      @shadlad91 2 роки тому

      @@KingdomAutoThe 180 hp sport "claims" its exhaust is the 6 hp add on but it is well known in the forums and within the tuners It's the premium fuel the sport reccomends over regular thats is the increase. I mean 91 isn't going to give the car 30 extra horses lol but it does allow the ecu to run things a bit more performance oriented. It's a great video. Represents real world instead of preplanned results .I always wanted to see a ext manual go agasint its big brother SI. Is there a huge difference between the 2 ??Subscribed in hopes we will find out 😁😉

      @@shadlad91 Really appreciate your sub! Yeah an Si vs. An Ex-T would be a fun one. The Si puts out more power but that CVT transmission in the Ex-T vs the manual Si could make things very interesting. If we can ever line them up then we’ll make it happen :)

      @@KingdomAuto Well deserved sub amd yes please that would be awesome race indeed. Always wanted to know but really isnt any videos on here that compares the EXT manusl and SI stock . I almost went with the 2017 SI but it was 60 bucks more a month in insurance and the payments were 100 bucks more a month sooo...... guess why I went with the EX T manual lol. 😆. I always wondered after if the drag race gap between the 2 would be large or small 🤔 Cheers !

    So let me get this straight. A more expensive Acura RDX Turbo could barely out perform a standard Honda Civic? Wow!
    This explains why every Acura RDX Turbo driver I see on the road is always speeding and trying to be ahead of everyone.
    Imagine you’ve paid a premium for an Acura RDX Turbo and you attempt to overtake a Honda Civic of this generation, only to find out it’s ride beside you all the way. Talk about emotional damage.
    I guess going forward when I see another Acura DDX Turbo driver, I will be sure to go out of my way and smile at them. Assuming that there not too busy overtaking a Honda Civic.

    • @KingdomAuto
      @KingdomAuto  8 місяців тому

      In fairness, it’s the Civic with the turbo engine, not the base 2.0L model.
      The Si comes with a 1.5 turbo as well and isn’t too far ahead of the Civic we raced in this video. So that gives you an idea, those little turbo Civic’s are pretty peppy for a grocery getter.
      RDX’s have never been fast, even when they came with the 3.5L V6. They’re made for being a practical, somewhat efficient, sporty/luxury SUV.
      If someone really wanted more speed in an SUV made by Acura, the MDX Type S would be a great option.

    Rdx vs rav4 prime

    • @KingdomAuto
      @KingdomAuto  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the suggestion! We've got the RDX whenever we need it so if we can get our hands on a Rav-4 Prime, consider it done!
      Just looked up the specs of the Rav and it seems like it would be a great match against the RDX for sure.
      Saving this comment and we'll do our best to make the race happen.
      Cheers!

    The 2022 1.5t would win it has 180hp

    • @KingdomAuto
      @KingdomAuto  2 роки тому +1

      Possibly yeah - it's only a difference of a few HP but keep in mind, the 2022 Civics are heavier too so that would play into things as well. Either way it would make for an interesting race!
