I don't know why this video just popped in my recommended list. Timing is impeccable. This year so far I've been to Europe and South America. I was not too long ago wondering what similar places, in terms of nature, adventure, and soul searching kind of experience, one might find in the US. And here I am already daydreaming about my next out of State visit to less known places for the regular folk like me. I've been to Grand Canyon, Sequoia, and a few other places but this channel is just opening my eyes to a lot more. Thank you.
As a 30 year plus employee of the National Park Service (now retired), not only have I been to most of these sites, I've actually worked in a lot of them. Of course, all I ever saw was their server room. But the drive to the work site was well worth it.
I love the National Park Service and appreciate all of the rangers and park employees who keep it going. In my opinion, our National Parks are what really make America such a special place.
We live in an absolutely breathtaking country. The landscape across the board is phenomenal. Briggs could do an entire channel on our landscape. Not enough lifetime to see it all

I have been to the Grand Canyon, Sequoia, Lake Tahoe, Multnomah Falls (I was born in Portland and live across the river in Washington). I'm surprised Sedona, AZ and Zion National Park, UT did not make the list this time. You can add my name to the list of people who are interested in another or two video on this topic. By the way, I truly truly appreciate your channels. They are family friendly and educational. As a parent and grand parent that means a lot to me.
Thank you Briggs! You want to see Niagra Falls in August and take the catwalk which takes you to where you can get splashed by the water or feel the mist from a boat trip. Lake Tahoe is awesome. Have you seen the finger lakes in NY or city with a lake in ID called McCall? Since you are in Portland you shoukd take a trip to Silverton Falls, OR. Most the falls are next to nothing but a couple are really cool and the 8 mile hike is great. The evergreens of the NW, the blanket of color of the northern east coast deciduous trees in the fall... And I am overly captivated by our Oceans Have a great day
So happy to see Watkins Glen State Park in New York on your list! In my opinion New York State is often underrated. People immediately think of New York City and Niagara Falls. The Finger Lakes region is gorgeous wine country. The Adirondacks Region is greater in size than Yellowstone, Everglades, Glacier, and Grand Canyon Park combined. I ❤ New York!
A couple years ago I rafted 88 miles of Colorado river through the Grand Canyon. Definitely the most physically challenging thing I've ever done! I have a healthy respect for the canyon and its rapids.
Yellowstone is nature's amusement park. It has to be seen to be believed. Pix don't do justice! On the East coast, you won't do much better than Virginia's Shenandoah Nat'l Park, especially if you're a hiker or you like fall leaf-peeping. I agree with your choice of Watkins Glen, the walking path through the gorge is quite stunning. Yes, you could realistically make three more of these lists for the US alone, Briggs.
I think you could have included the coral reefs of the Florida Keys. They’re the only living barrier reef in the continental United States, and the third largest in the world. These are the largest living structures, and are filled with amazing wildlife! See them while they’re still with us.
This list could potentially be huge. There are so many nice natural sites in this country. This is probably a reason why the USA is such a great country, and not a lot of Americans leave the country.
Lots of other beautiful areas Oregon caves being one of them spectacular beautiful country around the caves Views from the mountain tops are breathtaking
Briggs, I enjoy.your video very much. What I am impressed about is how the citizens come together to preserve nature. After looking at SF bay area and "save the bay" initiated by local citizens, it is amazingly well preserved and will bring joy to many many future generations to come. Please do a video on top 10 citizen based nature preserves beyond the NPs and state parks, which you have already covered. Thank you!
Good taste Briggs! Been to many of them in the west, regret none. You also showed a quick shot of Morraine Lake, Alberta. Easy to get to, jaw dropping beautiful.
I have been all over the Rockies. My dad lived in Bigfork MT. for over forty years. Bigfork is on Flathead Lake. Spent a lot of time on the lake when I was a kid. Been to Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, and the Tetons. My daughter lives in Redmond OR. I have seen Smith Rock.
YAY I’m glad Big Bend NP made the list, I did a road trip there and stayed in Chisos mountain, we saw black bears, big Bend is so amazing, as a native Texan it was like a rite of passage…highly recommended!!! 🏜🏕
Great list, Saint John national park would be in my top 20 over some of these state parks.Saint John and Hawaii are the most beautiful beaches in the USA . I just did Saint John it was amazing
The footage at 13:40 is Lake Sylvan in Custer State Park (not Badlands, which was what you were talking about. Also, about Badlands, the very first dinosaur bone was discovered there. Very cool.
This video makes me feel sad that I'm not a rich guy living in the States! Ok, in the past I've seen much of Europe, but I'd rather see nature nowadays than old cities. With the economic downturn, ongoing since 2008 where I live, everything's put in a pause. All these places look SO amazing! OK, I've done a 2-week round trip of Iceland once, and the waterfalls and glaciers there are probably more impressive than the ones in this video, but everything else, WOW! I've been to Grand Canyon and it was Majestic! Not in this video, but Joshua Tree national park stole my heart, hope I can make it back some day! I want to roam the earth in the short, undetermined time that I have left, see the sights before I wave goodbye, hopefully I'll find a way to do it shortly! Be nice to each other everyone!
I went to Badlands NP in the autumn Of 2021. All I could do when I saw it was stand there and cry, praising God for the beauty. You definitely need a part 2, 3, 4, 5, and maybe 17 or 18! You haven’t even touched the east coast yet (save for one). Excellent job, give us more!

About 6 years ago my family took a trip to the Rockies in Colorado and we drove through the national park. It was really amazing driving up the mountain to the point of elevation in which trees did not grow. It was July and there was snow on the ground and we even saw elk. On top of the mountain the sky was blue and cloudless but we ran into storms as we drove towards the bottom, which was really interesting. That trip was amazing and I would love to check out more national parks and even go back to The Rockies.

My family is lucky enough to go to these amazing places: Multnomah falls, Yosemite Natl park, Giant Sequoia, Lake Tahoe, Acadia Nat’l park, crater lake Oregon, Rocky Mountains, and the most spectacular is Bryce Canyon❤️
I camped at Smith Rocks back in1974 when there was no bridge to get across the Crooked River, they built a bridge a few years later. If you go to Crater Lake, make time to take the all-day boat tour, it drops you off on Wizard Island and you have time to hike to the summit and have lunch. Others to add are Denali and Kenai Fjords in Alaska.
Briggs made a pretty good list, but a couple of places that should have been included are Zion NP (Utah), Custer State Park (South Dakota, 13:39 to 13:55 is CSP and NOT Badlands NP), Sedona, Arizona, and Kenai Fjords NP (Alaska, take the boat tour out to see the glaciers calving from up close, and all sorts of wildlife including whales). Not everyone can be on the list, but these 4 places are all highly deserving.
