I 100% agree with Alaska being number one. We went on a cruise to Alaska. We always say that we want to come back and stay in certain places we “flash visit” on cruises. Every person in America should see Alaska. I think it should be a requirement and it should be paid for. It’s such a beautiful place. @@jondevlin4754 That one is nice too. We saw some free-range cattle coming from around a hill and running up the other side of the road there. Perfect timing for us.
Remember ( Charles Kuralt ) from his "CBS Sunday Morning" show titled: "On The Road" with Charles Kuralt ? Fantastic road trips'.. * Charles Kuralt said.., His favorite and most beautiful road trip was ( The Beartooth Highway in Montana and Wyoming ), close to Yellowstone National Park and his Second.., was the Glacier National Park, "Going-to-the-Sun-Road" in northern Montana.. Awesome list, of which I would certainly add Lake Tahoe, Bryce Canyon, Grand Teton National Park, Mount Rainier, Garden of The Gods, Pikes Peak, Big Sur, Point Reyes and Pacific Coast Highway route 1 to Eureka CA., Napa Valley, Monument National Park CO., Dinosaur National Monument CO., National Park Great Sand Dunes CO, Durango to Silverton trip by coal powered steam engine, Snake River Canyon Idaho, Cable Car Rides and Museum San Francisco, Mesa Verde CO Indian Dwellings, Ouray CO, Sedona AZ, Finger lakes NY., Adirondack Mountains NY., Green Mountains of Vermont, Aspen to Vail routes 82 to 24 over Independence Pass through Leadsville, Thousand Islands St. Lawrence Riverway NY., House on the Rock IL., Pacific Grove and Carmel by the Sea CA, Volcano National Park Hawaii. There are just so many spectacularly beautiful and majestic, quaint, idyllic and unique areas in America to visit and spend countless hours relaxing and taking in breathtaking views, exploring, learning and indulging in some delectable local food and drink experiences. We just need to respect our surrounding environment, keep it clean and pristine and respect each others differences and be friendly and helpful toward one another, which at time seems futile. Be well, all.
An admirable list of additions! To this, I would add Olympic and North Cascades National Parks in Washington, Zion and Canyonlands National Parks in Utah, Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP in Colorado. Also, while not solely in the USA, I would suggest including the International Peace Park (Glacier NP in the US and Waterton Lakes NP in Canada) created by treaty in 1932. the 2 parks are both stunning!. Waterton Lakes is much smalller but still spectacular!!!
Thank you for an amazing list! I am retired and will see how many of these I can see before I run out of energy to travel!! Or money to travel!! Thanks awesome list!!
I got twenty and feel blessed to have visited those there are another about twenty five on this list o still want to see but not sure I will make it I have always said why leave the states before you have visited all the beauty we have to offer
What's incredible is that there are thousands of places beyond these worth a visit. Pensacola Beach to watch the Blue Angels (or at the Naval Aviation Museum which is the largest of its kind in the world) is great. Tons of other museums, aquariums, etc. that weren't mentioned. The Biltmore Estate and the surrounding area for hiking. TONS of stuff to do in this beautiful nation.
I travel for a living. I was in South Bend in Dec one year. My grandfather was a HUGE ND fan, you could never convince that man that not all students were catholic, LOL. I had a rough day and even with it snowing I decided to walk the campus. A security guard found me outside one of the entrances, talking to my grandpa (he had been gone for over 10yrs so more like a prayer). Guard thought I was crazy till I told him it was my grandpas dream to see the stadium, since he didnt make it I was being his eyes and ears. The guard said "get in", I was taken into the stadium and on the field. I was there for over an hour. Honestly the prettiest stadium I have ever seen.
Amazing list of America's beauty. I am surprised that the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina was not on the list. The history and architecture of this amazing home is very interesting to say the least. It is absolutely beautiful and is one of the main tourist attractions in the area to thousands of people. It remains one of the most prominent examples of Gilded Age mansions. Best times to visit are in the spring, fall or at Christmas!!
I was going to tour the Biltmore once but then decided I have better things to do with my $114 (that's per person). If you want to drive the grounds only it's still $75 per person and that's only if the house tours are sold out. No thanks.
So many amazing places were left off, but the Corn Palace was put on?!?! And, sorry to Nashville, but Nashville over Washington DC or Savannah or San Francisco or........Seriously?
The Mutter museum in Philly is creepy but amazing. I live near Philly many great museums and eating spots too!! Chinatown Philly would rank in the 101-200 places to visit and the Reading terminal
Fern Canyon southwest of Orick , Ca. Coastal Redwoods, Eleanore Rosevelt grove is beautiful. The first 20 miles north of California in Oregon. Stop at every stop for the first 20 miles for the views. Cape Ferello has a great walk out to the end of the cape. When the road splits, take the right split, to the end of the cape, it has the best trail. Henry Ford, Greenville Village is my favorite place I visited in my 24 year business, and Cape Cod.
Started visiting the states from Scotland in 1984, been stuck on 29 visits for 2 years due to the pandemic, I managed to hit the 40 mark of places on this list. Also want to give a special mention to Rockport, Ma. 🏴🇺🇲
I’m surprised you didn’t mention Meteor Crater in Arizona! It’s far more intriguing than that disgusting gum wall in Seattle. Thanks for another awesome video! I’ve officially added a few places to my bucket list per your recommendation 👍🏼
I'd replace that gum wall with Meteor Crater in a heart beat! Right on Hollywood! Awesome place. I've been there more than once even though it's 1600 miles from home.
19. I’m from the UK so I don’t think this is a bad score really. I love the US and am planning a retirement road trip in a couple of year’s time, visiting every state in a period of about 3 months, so hopefully I can add a whole load more to my list. Things I would add that I have been to include Cape Cod MA, Beale Street & Graceland in Memphis TN and Dealey Plaza Dallas TX. Thanks for this great list.
I'm actually shocked you didn't mention Lake Tahoe. Best skiing, Ponderosa Ranch, clear blue water, hiking, beaches. Not to mention Virgina City near by.
I'm over 70 and I was lucky enough to be able to travel a lot in the 70s and 80s of the last century. Back then I saw many spectacular places in the world. Back then there were far fewer people on the road. Today you can no longer visit many places because they are totally overcrowded and that is getting worse and worse. I am glad I lived then
@@jaraza323 My most impressive place was visiting Tibet, and especially visiting the sacred Mount Kailash. Unfortunately, Tibet is occupied by the Chinese and the Tibetan people are being systematically oppressed. During my two visits there, I could still sense the ancient Tibetan culture. Meanwhile, the Chinese have almost crushed the Tibetan culture and the Tibetans are oppressed.
I made it to 61 of these. I would suggest the California Zephyr train trip from Chicago to the Bay Area. Crossing the Rockies and even more crossing the Sierras is spectacular.
Pretty comprehensive list, something for everyone. Although I'm surprised Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC didn't make an appearance. Even if historic homes/gardens aren't really your thing, it's the one worth tolerating being drug through during a trip.
I've always wanted to visit Maine because I read a series of books set there. In my 60s now and not in the best health so that won't be possible. My Mom is 92. She and her husband (John B. Bartlett-passed in 2009) visited every state except Alaska. They had magnets on their refrigerator that represented each state they visited. They actually took my daughters on educational "adventures" to many memorials and sites within a couple days drive from Paducah, KY where they lived and I grew up. Mom has had a few strokes and has forgotten a lot, but I love hearing stories about her life. She has had quite a few adventures. I pray you have complete recovery from your stroke!
@@Analyticalinadream US 101 and Highway 1 aren't the same thing. US 101 north end terminates in Washington State, California 1 aka the Pacific Coast Highway terminates at the north end of California (though I think it might become US 101 at that point). Also, the Pacific Coast Highway goes south into San Diego (I don't remember it going south of San Diego City itself), US 101 ends in LA.
We've been fortunate to have visited 69 of the 100. We've traveled throughout the lower 48 in a motorhome. cruised to Alaska for an RV trip and made it Hawaii a long time ago. While in Alaska, I actually made it to the Arctic Circle. I could probably add another 50 places to the list based on where we've been over the years. Thanks for putting this together.
This summer, God willing, I shall cruise to Alaska and see Glacier Bay, with Sitka, Ketchikan and Juneau along the way. Thank you for this video. It reminds me of how many of these wonders I've seen on my way home.
I did a cruise like that a few years ago and it was great! Such a beautiful part of the country, Alaska truly is a gem, and I hope that it works out well for you Doc! 😊 🏔
I have been to 21 of the spots. In the 60's when I was little, my family took a road-trip vacation from Portland, Oregon to California. One day we went to Hollywood and Beverly HIlls. I got car sick and threw up right in front of some huge beautiful mansion. My dad said that for all the places I could have thrown up, at least I picked a fancy place.
Enjoyed the video. My total was 49 as I like visiting NPS sites. I'll skip the Gum Wall and Fremont Troll and have instead enjoyed Olympic NP, Mt. Rainier NP and North Cascades NP. Your list didn't have any state parks and each state has many candidates for this list, but that would be a longer future list? My favorite on the list is Yellowstone National Park, but I haven't yet been to Alaska (last state yet to visit). I love making lists also, and many on this list will go on my future "to go" list, thank you and keep doing what you do.
Wow, seeing the country from two wheels must be such a fantastic experience. I've always thought that when I see motorcycles cruising through small towns or the national parks, you just seem so much more connected with the environment you're in! That's so awesome David, I hope you're able to cross of the remaining 65! 😊 🏍
My goal is to get my daughter to all 50 before she turns 18. We are at 36 right now and doing 8 more this summer. She is 15. I love that you made this comment. I can't give her the world, but I can take her for a drive around our country.
Thanks for the tour. Coming from New South Wales, Australia I was very surprised to have scored 22% over the years for the places you mentioned. What a wonderful country. My wife and I would have liked to rent an RV and do a massive road trip but Covid and the relentless march of the years will pretty much rule that out. Once again, Thank you.
COVID won't last forever. And, if you're looking into 'rent an RV', try it in the early spring. You won't get the fall colors, but everywhere's accessible and the crowds are substantially less.
How did you manage to see 22% without an RV? Most of these treks are WAY out from anything, especially if you are from the Southeastern part of the country. I've not actually seen a few of these, but I was in the same city as they are located. By the BY, I was in Brisbane in 1968! I met two lovely ladies there, who wrote me for several years after my departure. GREAT PEOPLE in Queensland!
and now despite covid vax availability now you have the relentless march of gas price gouging. meanwhile the night sky from down under is still on my bucket list but not sure if I want to meet lobsters who come inland and knock over garbage bins.
I'm a Chinese born and raised in Beijing. I have never been studied or worked in the US. But I've visited about 40 of them on my personal or business trips! US is so beautiful and rich in travel resources. hope the pandemic ends soon and people can start to travel again.
My wife and I are addicted to travel and have been to 91 countries and when we are asked what is the best country we've seen in terms of travel related spots we always say it is our country, the U.S.A. We do it proudly because where can you see something like the landscape of Death Valley in the same country as the beauty of the Maine coast. We've done 49 of these and believe that while this is a good list you have missed some great places. Thanks for this list.
Seriously! I feel like people from the US take how beautiful it is for granted because we always see foreign countries as beautiful culturally and landscape-wise. Especially because I feel like only the West Coast, Florida and the Northeast is pointed out for how beautiful they are. However, the entire country is breathtaking
People ask me where my favorite place. I respond with every place is beautiful in its own way. But you are so right. No otger country holds a candle to all the stuff we have to see. I have been to all 50 states but I don’t think I will ever finish seeing it all.
Great work, as usual! But calling out one mistake: It appears your footage of #68 Mackinac Island, MI is not of the island but of St. Ignace, MI on the mainland. The giveaway is the cars in the footage. There are no vehicles (other than emergency) on Mackinac Island. It can only be accessed by boat, plane, or in the winter, ice bridge. Also, Mackinac Island has a distinct “colonial” look. It is a great place to go for a good walk, bike ride, or bar crawl!
Don’t forget all the horse drawn carriages, bicycles, and the Grand Hotel ... and as a bonus, the Mackinac Bridge (much more impressive than the Golden Gate)
As a South Bend native, I love that you included Notre Dame on this list! I remember working as catering staff hosting an event in the press box of Notre Dame Stadium when a double rainbow came out overhead. It was so epic! And as a backpacker, I think my favorite place in the US might be Glacier Peak Wilderness in Northern Washington. I think the non-backpacker would LOVE Stehekin, WA, a little town at the end of Lake Chelan that you can only get to by ferry or by foot. The bakery in that town is amazing, and it just feels like the perfect retreat.
@@oldgoat50 Yes, I definitely consider myself a Hoosier even though I was born in Washington state. Lived in Indiana from 4 years old to age 26! Also my high school fight song was the Notre Dame one as well, too funny.
Notre Dame stadium seems like a weird one to me. I'd say you either have to go for size and pick Michigan Stadium, or if going for historic I'd say the Rose Bowl.
I'm older so if I have 20 years left, I'll have to pick 20 of these places from the list ! I have been to a few places like The Grand Canyon and The Hoover Dam, and I have been to Las Vegas twice and hope to go back again, and no desire to go to The Kentucky Derby, but these are some good suggestions !
@@SirManfly We just saw the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago, and it was the Grandest Canyon we've ever seen! Such a pretty part of the country. We actually tied Vegas into our Grand Canyon trip, and saw several other national parks along the way! Hope you can venture out that way soon Doug! 😊
It's obvious he has never been to Hawaii. So I assume he has not been to a bunch of other places he list. This guy is like a brainwashed leftest promoting woke locations that a really all second rate. Too bad.
Crater Lake South Oregon, and while there, if so inclined, sample some of the local weed and shrooms, just pls pull over, park and secure your van, relax and take in the scenery. Life can be too short sometimes to dismis such views when u can.
Omaha, NE's Henry Doorly Zoo has been ranked the #1 zoo in the US several times... and presumably in the world! When it isn't #1, San Diego often takes the spot. Also, Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo is amazing!
I've made 33. So far. Glacier National Park is my favorite. My wife and I did all 5 of the NPs in Utah in a convertible. I've done Hwy.1 dozens of times, mostly on motorcycles, once on a bicycle. 2 wheelers are a great way to do it. Big Sur deserves its own place on the list. And I agree with the comment below about the Beartooth Hwy. Fabulous.
Hwy 1 on a bicycle is suicide. that road has no shoulders to speak of and there are a lot of people driving it, who really have no business operating a motor vehicle. sometimes they are found at the bottoms of cliffs. I'm sure you met a few of those.
I'm amazed how many of these I've seen. 2 huge misses, a week at the Smithsonian isn't enough. Also the Henry Ford museum/Greenfield Village is easily worth the trip.
If you can't get to Washington, the Henry Ford Museum is OUTSTANDING. Check out the Motown museum too! Washington -you need to 1.5 weeks and you need to go twice to begin to see it all (ie. 3 weeks or so).
Thank you so much for this list. I've been to under 5 places on it but it's given me some ideas. I would like to add something for your next video. If you are in DC and can only see one museum, make it the Smithsonian. It has anything and everything. The train station there is also quite nice. The Vietnam War memorial is (imo) one of the best war memorials as it grasps the seriousness of war. Also, I'd like you to add Chattanooga, Tennessee and Hay Market, Virginia to your list as some unique places. We are very fortunate in this country to have so many beautiful places to see.
Excellent video. Thank you. Idea for a video: Dark Sky spots. Places where you can actually see the night sky without artificial light interference. There are very few spots left and only a couple on the east coast.
Impressive compilation. Been to 59. My father's favorite was Garden of the Gods in CO, mine is Bryce Canyon in Utah, but the most peaceful spot I ever experienced in the US was Cedar Grove in Kings Canyon. Thanks for the effort in making this.
I feel like there’s way to many garden of the gods. And they all look alike. Rocks 🪨 large rocks lol. Joy Illinois has one southern Illinois and it’s pretty ok. lol
I've been to 27 of the list. Fun watch. I'm born/raised on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska and I agree that Alaska is EPIC. I would add Sedona, Arizona and several places in Utah like Bryce Canyon at Sunrise. We stumbled upon Canyon de Chelly while traveling AZ and that was such a gem we were not expecting. Great to see it on the list.
Briggs, may God bless you, your wife, and your family and all the World According to Briggs team richly! You have no idea what good you are doing, and how much you are being used to comfort and encourage others! Thank you very much for your work and your service!
I've been to 29 on your list. My favorite is Yellostone. When my daughter was younger, we went on summer trips. 48 states, 7 provinces and one state in Mexico. On one of our early trips, we did the South loop of Yellowstone, starting in West Yellowstone and going counter clockwise. At the East end of the loop, you cross the Continental Divide, twice. It had been off and on light rain for most of the time in the park. When we crossed the divide for the second time, it was snowing very large wet flakes. It was the 4th of July!!!
38! wow!! Live in AZ so we’ve seen most of the western ones without a list. We are retired now in our late 60’s so you’ve given us a great list to work from. thanks
Thank you for the beautiful drone footage of the Sioux Falls, South Dakota in the introduction! I seriously lost count but I think that I've been to about a dozen of these places. Great video!!
“Orcas” please Briggs with an “S”, “Orcas Island with Mt Constitution, highest point in the San Juan islands, I look at it almost every day... I got 36, no favorite, what a great list Briggs! So fun, no worries on length, I wanted more🤣👍🇺🇸
Indeed. In my humble opinion, this could have been better in only 2 ways - if it was longer so he could have had more narrative and if he could break it into 2 or 3 parts.
You could do several videos on this topic. Another NYC place that turns out to be a great visit is the NY Public Library on 5th Avenue. I kind of got dragged to it when I was younger, and am definitely glad I went.
I live in Hannibal and I'm glad it made the list but I was kind of disappointed that the Gateway Arch in St Louis was not on the list. It's truly amazing.
It is! I went there with a friend in 2016, and the views were great. The thing about it is when you look up at it, it doesn’t seem like people could go up there.
I can say this... I have lived in Chicago most of my life (recently moved to the Western Suburbs of Chicago). I have always loved the healthy Rivalry between St Louis and Chicago! I actually went to College further downstate (South) in Illinois, and my University was a lot closer to St Louis than Chicago is, even though they are only about 5.5 to 6 hours apart. We would travel to St Louis at least once or twice per Semester, either for just a Weekend out or a one day trip. We never had a bad time, and back then at least, it was clean and safe and fun! The Arch is cool and it is a perfect attraction AND Monument for the City! I would have really thought it would be on this list!
25 is my number and the Smoky Mountains is probably my favorite. I travel there from Texas once a year and avoid all the touristy places for some wonderful peace and quiet. A very close second place is Yosemite. It will take your breath away!!
I've been to most of the listed locations of actual historical significance in the CONUS and I'm impressed that Canyon de Chelly is among your featured locations. Sure, it's not Yellowstone or The Grand Canyon, but it is awesome, especially if you do your homework and read about its' history beforehand.
What a great list! I’ve made it to 32 of them. My dad was born at Devil’s Tower. His parents and uncles owned property at the base.... my grandfather worked in the CCC.
Crater lake is just amazing. The first time I went was in fall and it was awesome. I've only ever gotten to go since then during the summer when it's smoky but someday I will go back during the fall or spring.
Awesome list Briggs! I've only been to 18 of these ... been close to at least that many more, but my dad avoided tourist destinations like the plague when I was growing up. A couple I would add to the list - the Indianapolis 500 (world's most famous car race) and Cape Cod.
I made it to 40 of these. Another must-see place I would suggest is the Biltmore in Asheville NC. My sister and I went to this amazing place and the place is huge!
I have been to 45 of the 100, and beyond. Being a licensed Pilot, I had the privilege to fly in the Grand Canyon, land in the back country of Idaho on Jeep Roads, Float the Rivers. I lived on Kodiak Island, A; the Big Island, HI; grew up in the Mountains of Colorado. Indeed there are a lot of places to visit, this list is the 'Tip of the Iceberg'. Thank You.
I flew down Yosemite Valley several times back when it was still legal to do so. Only flew down in the Grand Canyon once and it was the scariest flight I ever took because of all the blind corners the number of other fools in aircraft that were down there with me.
I am with you : the gum bridge and a couple of others I would have thought the better of as this listmaker, and left off the list. Just because a lot of small children think it is worth seeing does not mean it is worth seeing.
I’ve visited 17 locations. Great video! I think the Upper Peninsula in Michigan should have been on that list. That was one of the most incredible spots I’ve seen and explored of this beautiful country!
38. I have not been to the Kennedy Space Center but have been to - and recommend- the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California as well as the Houston Space Center. Yellowstone is my absolute favorite National park followed by Glacier NP. Alaska and Hawaii are on my bucket list. I would put the following on the list of US places to visit: the Great Salt Lake, Mesa Verde, and Mammoth Cave NP. A hidden jewel that never makes any list - but should- is Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho with some incredible lava fields and tubes.
Thanks! As for road trips, I don’t think you mentioned the Natchez Trace. at least as nice as the blue ridge and less crowded. It deserves to be on the list 😀
Holy cow, when you first started this video I was think I probably been to 10 or maybe 12. To my surprise I’ve been to 38. Surprised me. My favorite, rode the entire Route 66 on my motorcycle in 2011. Sadly a lot of it’s gone but did all that was available. Once again Briggs you get a gold star for this video. Thanks for bringing back some great memories I totally forgot.
@@marlenestockton2269 I grew up on a farm. Learned the value of hard work. Spent 8 years in the army. The Biltmore Estate and the surrounding area for hiking. TONS of stuff to do in this beautiful nation.
What about the Great Paterson Falls, in NJ. Not only is it in the first Industrial city in America but god is it a beauty!
Amen Harrison! I’ve never figured out why Americans who’ve never seen the USA rush to Europe.
I agree. My husband and I stopped ship cruising so we could get an RV and cruise the roads of our Country instead.
I loved the Biltmore estate! I went to tour the mansion and fell in love with the property as a whole.
I thought the list was a little biased to the West Coast...just my opinion.
I was going to tour the Biltmore once but then decided I have better things to do with my $114 (that's per person). If you want to drive the grounds only it's still $75 per person and that's only if the house tours are sold out. No thanks.
Is it as good as the gum wall in Seattle?
@@oldgoat50 I agree that the Biltmore would win a hundred yard dash by 99 yards against the gum wall!
So many amazing places were left off, but the Corn Palace was put on?!?! And, sorry to Nashville, but Nashville over Washington DC or Savannah or San Francisco or........Seriously?
The San Diego Zoo is the Harvard and Yale of Zoos! And the Spy Museum is awesome!
Don't miss the Wild Animal Park if you're going to see the Zoo.
first went in 1980 . still have pics lol
51. Thought Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks would be good additions.
35... no Big Sur? Lake Tahoe? Bryce? Zion? Sedona? Savannah? Myrtle Beach? Vanderbilt estate? Hearst Castle? Lol. So many places to see!
I have been to 53 South Beach and Chicago
Ugh the narrows in Zion is so amazing
Rainbow bridge as well
Started visiting the states from Scotland in 1984, been stuck on 29 visits for 2 years due to the pandemic, I managed to hit the 40 mark of places on this list.
I tried predicting what would make the list of 100. Meteor crater was one of the ones I was definitely surprised not to make the list.
Yeah that gum wall sums up Seattle pretty well
I'd replace that gum wall with Meteor Crater in a heart beat! Right on Hollywood! Awesome place. I've been there more than once even though it's 1600 miles from home.
I'm near Seattle
Or Atlantic City for that matter
I am glad I lived then
Which is your favorite?
@@jaraza323 My most impressive place was visiting Tibet, and especially visiting the sacred Mount Kailash. Unfortunately, Tibet is occupied by the Chinese and the Tibetan people are being systematically oppressed. During my two visits there, I could still sense the ancient Tibetan culture. Meanwhile, the Chinese have almost crushed the Tibetan culture and the Tibetans are oppressed.
@@videosuchen Wow! Tibet, very exotic indeed.
I did most of my traveling in the 70,80 and 90s
Now I am getting too old to travel anymore !

I made it to 61 of these. I would suggest the California Zephyr train trip from Chicago to the Bay Area. Crossing the Rockies and even more crossing the Sierras is spectacular.
I rather try this train ride, sounds exciting 😀 💯💯💯👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

Pretty comprehensive list, something for everyone. Although I'm surprised Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC didn't make an appearance. Even if historic homes/gardens aren't really your thing, it's the one worth tolerating being drug through during a trip.
That place is awesome!

I would also add California State Route 1/Highway 1/Pacific Coast Highway. Hands down one of the most scenic drives.
Mostly true, though the parts that go through cities (like IN San Diego and LA) are mostly "meh, just another street".
I thought this was on there. Highway 101
Hubby and I went down Pacific Coast Highway/Highway 1 on a motorcycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles. A trip of a lifetime!
and most dangerous ..
I did the full 66 when moving from LA to Chicago. :)
Done it several times myself. A lot of fun if you have the time.
Must not have had much to move - or you like the "slow route".
9-)
Hoping to do this if I ever get to retire in a few years......need more time.
@@bricefleckenstein9666 My things were U-boxed, so I could enjoy the drive. ;)
I lived on Rt. 66 in Arizona for 15 years. The stories I could tell...!
This is seriously one of your best videos!! I’ve been looking for a top places in the US for the past several months. Great job.
That would be an interesting list. I've recently retired with plans to road trip around the US, Canada, and parts of Mexico.
I drove truck and seen a lot of places I would've loved to stop at but between no time and no big truck parking I only seen the bill boards.
Wow, not a lot of people will be able to go to all the states in their lifetime...
Best scenic road is a tie between Going to the Sun Highway in Glacier National Park and Zion Mount Carmel Highway in Zion National Park.
Going To The Sun Road is unbeatable!
35!!! Only 65 more to go. And I thought my bucket list was getting shorter. Oh, and did them all by motorcycle.
David Starr --- Good for you. I didn't keep a tally, but I've been to many. Even Niagara Falls. Love NY City, and so many places Briggs brought us to.
I've been to 34 on this list, many of them several times. No favorite but all have special memories.
Wow, seeing the country from two wheels must be such a fantastic experience. I've always thought that when I see motorcycles cruising through small towns or the national parks, you just seem so much more connected with the environment you're in! That's so awesome David, I hope you're able to cross of the remaining 65! 😊 🏍
Everything is better on a bike.
Briggs, Thank God for my parents! I am now 58, so I have been able to do some on my own, but they took me to the majority of the 41 I've been to.
Gas prices would cost you a fortune
Hope you get a chance
Look very beautiful view with nice place
Thank you for great sharing
Quite enjoyed the longer form video too, wouldn't mind a part two, or specific types of places to visit.
I've been blessed to have seen 38 of the items on your list. Thank you for posting this. I really enjoyed it.
What’s your favorite country that’s not the US?
Seriously! I feel like people from the US take how beautiful it is for granted because we always see foreign countries as beautiful culturally and landscape-wise. Especially because I feel like only the West Coast, Florida and the Northeast is pointed out for how beautiful they are. However, the entire country is breathtaking
Michigan Kentucky and Tennessee have given this old Hoosier plenty of good times. Didn't have to go far for different terrain to enjoy.
Don’t forget all the horse drawn carriages, bicycles, and the Grand Hotel
... and as a bonus, the Mackinac Bridge (much more impressive than the Golden Gate)
I can think of several other places in Michigan that could be on the list as well, Pictured Rocks, Sleeping Bear dunes, Greenfield Village and more….

Crater Lake South Oregon, and while there, if so inclined, sample some of the local weed and shrooms, just pls pull over, park and secure your van, relax and take in the scenery. Life can be too short sometimes to dismis such views when u can.
Excellent list. I used to think world travel was the answer, but you are absolutely right - there are a lot of beautiful sites to see in this country.
Omaha, NE's Henry Doorly Zoo has been ranked the #1 zoo in the US several times... and presumably in the world! When it isn't #1, San Diego often takes the spot. Also, Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo is amazing!
YES! Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha is a place that every time I go, they've added another amazing feature. If you like zoos, HD is THE ZOO to see.
Loved it Briggs. I need to go through it again and mark each place down that I’ve been to. AWESOME video. More stuff like this 😀👍🏻❤️
Please do!
There's not a "the Smithsonian". It's several museums and you're correct that it takes more than a week to see them all.
Definitely the Henry Ford museum/Greenfield village. My single Mom took us there kids when I was young.
Absolutely the Henry Ford museum, but also the US Air Force museum in Dayton, Ohio ( the world’s largest and oldest)
@@Navy35 The AF museum is also free

I'm 81 and I counted 37. I suggest the "Going to the Sun Highway" in Montana.
One thing that's definitely missing is the St Louis Arch. My favorite man-made monument in the US.

38. I live in Alaska and have lived South East to above the arctic circle and love it all. Loved thisprogram.. So many great memories. Thanks.
Have been to 30...probably favorite would be Williamsburg. Guess I need to get 'out and about' more...
Williamsburg was excellent, much better than I expected.
Thanks for bringing back some great memories I totally forgot.
people that claim so many places or either a liar or don't work (maybe both). Whats your secret....
@@marlenestockton2269 I grew up on a farm. Learned the value of hard work. Spent 8 years in the army. Went to college to learn computer programming and started my own software company after spending 3 long lean years designing my software for sale for retail stores. This included many 15 hour days of punching a keyboard. So Karen, at 70 years old now, yes I did do or seen 38 of the items Briggs mentioned. Probably be a lot more in the future while you sit around and call people liars. Have a nice day.
Great list! Thanks
31 I haven’t been to mostly out west. St Augustine is a
Must oldest city in the US
I went there in 2016, and I give it a B-
Been to 27 places on you list. I’m actually amazed by that! Really surprised that everyone always forgets about the Florida Keys... such beauty there. Guess it will continue to be my little secret! 😉
The world according to Briggs, I like your list!
I loved this video Briggs ‼️. You're inspiring me to make a channel myself with my own content, NOT copying your content. Very cool stuff
