I love how positive you are and even using a "puffy leg" as a positive thing. 😄 I am a Millenial Romantic, a small curvy, curly woman. I grew up in the 90s/2000s, where the dominant beauty standard was that of very tall, thin, blonde women. I'm so glad how time has changed and how more positive culture has become towards diverse body types.
I’d love if you did a video on how to gray for the body types. I’m starting to feel I need to do something with my graying hair, it feels blah. Thanks Aly for all the great videos!
The problem with true silver is the pigment is gone. My hairdresser has added some lowlights that don't turn brassy. Part of the reason I stopped coloring is the hair dye would turn brassy, not to mention after years of color, I have developed allergies after coloring every 3 weeks. It's a real problem.
Great video! Thank you. I am theatrical romantic -can’t wait for that video - and I want to go blonde. right now my hair is red. I have a bob but i think it looks better when it is longer. I think blonde with darker or ashy roots would look better on me. My natural hair is brown.
Thank you, Alyona! As a Romantic, I very much appreciate your video, and the effort you put in researching all of these pictures! Because I had very bad experiences with hairstylists in the past (they always gave me something trendy and totally inappropriate for my essence) I started cutting/styling my hair myself. At the moment, I have my hair like Christina's at 26:16 - long, brown, straight and with bangs (I keep mine more wispy though - as per your advice in an older bangs for the body types video). It's my natural hair color and texture. I like that I don't have to work too much to style it, just a few minutes with a round brush and blow-dryer. You videos have truly helped me to look and feel my best with what I naturally have, I can't thank you enough! ❤❤❤
Same! I haven’t been to a hairdresser in years. There was one that knew about color theory, but she left and now that I stopped straightening my hair, it’s a whole other story. A lot of curly hair dressers go for volume - which don’t get me wrong, a lot of people need and I benefit from top volume. - but if it’s too much at the sides, I’m swallowed up. That’s FN territory, they look amazing with that 90s supermodels blow out big hair mane, but I do not Wearing my hair long, I only wear half up, half down or buns with volume on top, even the pineapple (protective style for textured hair) looks way better on me than simply letting it down I can go longer if I wear it straight, but even then layers are definitely needed
That helped so much. I often wondered why certain haircuts, even if done well, did not look quite right on me. It helped very much to see the ones that look best with the ones that don't work side by side and your explanation. I feel like I can pull off a slightly tousled look so long as the ends have a finished look. It's that jagged or dry, over processed looking ends that might look punk rock on another body type that just look cheap and unflattering on a romantic.
I relate to Beyoncé so much. My natural hair is black and it makes me look slightly gray and I never noticed it until I dyed my hair brown. Medium Brown is truly my hair color. Color 4N but next time I’m gonna dye it to a 5N. I also love to use extensions or wigs if I feel like giving my hair a break. Honey blonde/brown is truly Beyoncé’s color. I know black is her natural hair color but I also don’t find it to be the best on her. Romantic is part of my essence (ingenue dominant here) which is why I’m watching this video but as far as Kibbe, soft classic is my body type!
Really like this new series! Thank you! Would you consider putting together some playlists for each of the body types? I would love to send a friend a link to your channel to specifically check out their unique body type videos. Might be handy- but regardless- thanks for the detailed and honest videos.

I think curls are dressier and more romantic. An easy way to get curls that really last? I put my hair on top of my head in a pony tail, dampen the hair, then roll it in sponge rollers and sleep that way. Curlers won’t bother you and the curls last a long time. When you take it down, it will be fuller and have great curls. I always get compliments!

Kate Winslet's natural hair is brown and I would say a medium brown . Definitely not blonde. Drew's natural hair is lighter than Kate's ,I would say light brown . You can see photos of them as teens with their natural hair colours. I have seen a photo of Kate as a teen a few times with brown hair , which makes sense when her eyebrows are dark.
I wish this was for the Romantic *essence,* as that one I have, though I am def. not a Romantic in Kibbe body types (too tall for that)! :) So please make similar hair style / colour idea videos for each essences!
The recommendations would be similar but change depending on your Kibbe ID. That's where it gets hard to put together because you would have to melt your essence blend and ID to figure out one of some of the best hairstyles and colors for yourself. This can be VERY individual because your essence blend - even if you have the same essences as another person - would be mixed in a specific ratio. And that ratio will tell you how high your accomodation level might be. E.g. do you need an entire garment that is romantic or do you only need a few romantic details. Are ruffles great or already too much? Stuff like that. Nobody can tell you that from a distance and especially not without any references. Maybe you're already good if you go with romantic colors, maybe you need extra softness in your hairstyle, maybe not. Your Kibbe ID always plays into your essences since it's the impression your body structure gives off. If it's D or FG for example try out hair that is more for the softer side of these types (SD and SN) and see what it does. Go with the same frame in terms of clothes but different fabrics (more clingy/less stiff/more flowy) and see what it does. This really is something that, if you're not booking a consultation and get it all done for you, you will have to try out for yourself. Maybe post pictures on reddit and ask for opinions but be aware that's what they are: opinions, not facts. I for sure know that I don't have romantic essence and if, only a very small amount, because I look funny, more angular/more square and larger in anything leaning romantic. It can even cheapen my look. And as soon as something clashes with your overall appearance or takes away your own specific "magic" in terms of your individual vibe, it's not within your specific blend or in other words: doesn't have to be accomodated.
@@Just_Kirsty Thanks; yes, I know all that :), and I do have a good grasp of what suits me & my style and what doesn't, but it's always nice to get new recommendations from someone coming from a different angle, thus my comment :) TBH, I'm now mainly going by my essence blend only (Kitchener / TiB), as I'm quite disappointed at Kibbe, since none of the 3 IDs I could be (at my height, 5'8.5) really fit me... And I'm excluded from all that I feel do fit me (R, TR, SC, maybe SN)! So I don't find Kibbe that helpful, essences much more so. ;)
@@Just_KirstyI’m just curious, what would be similar types to the theatrical romantic outside of romantic (which is more yin)? I believe I’m a theatrical romantic (9 D’s, 3 B’s, 2 A’s, and 1 E) though at one point I thought I was a soft natural and considered soft gamine. The B’s, A’s, and E were in my bone structure and facial flesh, my body flesh were D’s. I’m still new to this, but with that in mind I’m trying to figure out what the more yang type next to theatrical romantic would be since I only had one E / Lush Yin category. I hope this made sense, I can give more details if not, but trying to figure out what would be in my “family” I guess 🧐
Dear Alyona, could you name the books and articles to read about haircuts based on face proportions please? And books about hair color based on skin and eye color?
Thank you so much for all your work! I’m sure someone pointed this out already, but I would edit the video or description to acknowledge that image with short hair (starting about the 18-minute mark) is Toni Braxton, not Beyoncé.
I doubt she knows enough about afro textured hair to make a video about it. Look for black yotubers who talk about kinbe body types. I saw one do kibbe and afro textured hair.
I have a question! 🙋🏻♀️ If you wear a low visual weight style like a pixie, do you have to dress differently or in a way to compensate for it in some way? I’m a TR, but commenting on this one since it’s similar to mine and TR hasn’t come out yet
I thought I was a soft natural, since I paid stylist to style me. however I always viewed myself as sturdy or broad. I am plus sized and am losing weight and many inches around my waist. even at 102kg I'm a ripe hourglass. I always view myself as ugly as I'm still losing weight. I have flabby arms and my arms are short. I thought that my body couldn't be extremely lush or curvy. I thought my limbs were long and broad, however when Im sitting next to a petite friend who is shorter , I noticed that my legs were shorter (I noticed my upper leg stopping earlier even when I'm taller. Im 5,4ft). I always wear oversized clothes. But my boyfriend who I have sex with said that I look way bigger that way. I didn't believe it until I saw a picture of myself at school in my oversized shirt and hair tied back. He also mentioned that I have a very small waist and wide hips. since Im overweight I make fun of my buttocks that aren't a bubble butt, because I find it hard to train my butt which then asks me to eat at least 163grams in protein a day. But he said that I have beautiful waist and hips and always touches my boobs to taunt me. since I also tend to have a bigger bust. I tried calculators online and it al mentioned hourglass. But idk I think romantic is too beautiful or something since it fits Marilyn Monroe. She's such an icon, it might be too good to be real. I did try multiple things where I wear a bodycon/tight dress with a sweetheart neckline and some flare at the bottom, with a belt to cinch in at the waist. I compared the pictures/outlines of my body towards the pictures on the quiz, and I noticed, I viewed it in the wrong way. my own perception is that I look like a gorilla since I have short chubby arms, with a big bust. Ofcourse in the quizzes and tests I don't score fully E and D. but mainly that and in bone structure it was also mainly D and E. and the highest amount was E with some D's idk maybe its the imperfections that get stuck in your head, until you take a picture in underwear or tight dress, and draw the outlines. then when you compare it to the references, and plus size references. I noticed that soft natural didn't really fit me since I have a bigger boobs and wide hips and a very small waist. Like my waist and hipline have a curve slope. idk my boyfriend mentioned it when we had sex, that it's very noticeable when he sees my back and waist compared to hips. I just tend to wear oversized since Idk how to style. also it was very confusing, since I thought to have extreme wide shoulders (results SN from paid stylist), but the hips and bust go past my shoulder bone if I draw a straight line when standing. ppl say yeah you aren't what I mean with fat, or I mean fat people but not you. Idk if that's a compliment, all bodies are beautiful. I love your videos. they celebrate all different kind of bodies and shows that they're all beautiful.
To me Christina Ricci just doesn't look like a romantic? She seems like a soft gamine to me, she looks so young, large head, and mix of sharp chin, slightly muscular arms, romantic seems a strange fit for her!
Is because of her face. she doesnt look flirtatious she looks more gamine- dramatic . For that reason I dont think kibbe sistem is 100% accurate, 2 persons may have the same body type but diferent face: Marliny Monroe is a romantic with a little bit of ingenue on her face and Christina Ricci have more of gamine face ; for that reason the style would be diferent for hers even if they have the same body type! You know, your body dont walk allon there is a head on top and a face. Believe me or not most of the people spend most time looking on your face. Not your body . So if you just dress for your body and not take into consideration your face it would be weird
@@YumeraChauque People often conflate Kitchener and Kibbe but they are not the same system. kitchener takes into account your face predominantly and kibbe takes into account your body predominantly because it’s image ID of your total self and creating HTT outfits and your bodies bone structure is pretty important with that. Ricci is definitely not a gamine in kibbe because she has no yang. look at younger photos she’s clearly all yin. even now she’s just thin but still not yang, not angular, not frame dominant. so how can she be a gamine? in kitchener she has a gamine essence for completely different reasons. you can use the systems together if you want but nothing works when you conflate them.
@@lovejoy7 I don't say she is gamine, I say she has non tipical romantic face witch makes her decision on clothes be little diferent in terms of clothes choice. I know the sistems are diferent and not the same. But if you just dress for your body without take into account your face, specially if the ID dont match, will be weird!
@@YumeraChauque then you don’t understand Kibbe. she does have a pure yin face so her face is romantic. Kitchener is a different system and analyzes yin and yang in completely different ways. as far as kibbe, id understand if you could show me the yang in her face, there is none. she doesn’t have a gamine face because we take in everything all together. also when she wears rounded lines, draping fabrics, accommodates curve and uses ornate details she looks very harmonious so idk what you mean. but everyone no matter what their kibbe type makes specific clothing choices, we aren’t meant to be clones

I think Kate Winslet would look great with cool tones. Platinum blond a la Anna Nicole Smith
Would these recommendations work for TR?
Dear Alyona, could you name the books and articles to read about haircuts based on face proportions please? And books about hair color based on skin and eye color?
Thank you so much for all your work! I’m sure someone pointed this out already, but I would edit the video or description to acknowledge that image with short hair (starting about the 18-minute mark) is Toni Braxton, not Beyoncé.
Im glad your doing this becasue his book is 250 dollars! (US)
Puffy leg 😂😂😂
Pls i need to know about asian hair color and hair cut with different faces shapes.
HELP! ✨✨ Do you give individual advice somewhere online?? 🥺🥺🥺 i would love to get some specific help Witt color and pictures 🥺
Can you please do a video on 4c hair ?
I doubt she knows enough about afro textured hair to make a video about it. Look for black yotubers who talk about kinbe body types. I saw one do kibbe and afro textured hair.
I have a question! 🙋🏻♀️ If you wear a low visual weight style like a pixie, do you have to dress differently or in a way to compensate for it in some way? I’m a TR, but commenting on this one since it’s similar to mine and TR hasn’t come out yet
❤❤❤
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I feel like I have romantic face and classic body T.T i look like a bobby head, not sure how to style myself
❤
You should do some videos about men so women can help their boyfriends and husbands 🤭
No
I thought I was a soft natural, since I paid stylist to style me. however I always viewed myself as sturdy or broad. Ofcourse in the quizzes and tests I don't score fully E and D. but mainly that and in bone structure it was also mainly D and E. and the highest amount was E with some D's
idk maybe its the imperfections that get stuck in your head, until you take a picture in underwear or tight dress, and draw the outlines. then when you compare it to the references, and plus size references.
Brunette doesn't mean anyone that is not blonde. H.E.R and Beyonce have black hair. Brunette is brown hair
True. Black haired people are called ravens.
Ricci is definitely not a gamine in kibbe because she has no yang. look at younger photos she’s clearly all yin. even now she’s just thin but still not yang, not angular, not frame dominant. so how can she be a gamine? in kitchener she has a gamine essence for completely different reasons. you can use the systems together if you want but nothing works when you conflate them.
any type can have muscles
But christina richie does look like soft gamine not romantic
Мне кажется Кристина Риччи гамин)))
Actors change their hair color for film roles. You have to take this into account
she did
If you watch the video. She does mention this
Well, she did that.
