The sound effects are hurting my ears. You don't need them. Your content is so valuable. ❤
Agreed, those sounds are annoying and intrusive.
Maybe it’s an old video ?🙏
@MaBaKar @parisbreakfast unsure but it looks like a newer video. Regardless... I feel like the sound effects were way too distracting for me to focus on her content that day. I tried my best to finish the video, but my adhd was not having it. I love her educational content though.
True. Luckily, they don’t hurt my ears, but i agree with you that they are not necessary, because the content is good enough. 😊
Thank you for the advice! I have done the second trip to the grocery store and end up buying more impulse items. I didn't learn to make a list and stick to it until I was a working adult and paying my bills, now I just have to remember to bring the list! Involving the kids in the list and prices is a good idea too, and teaches them how to shop.
This is great! I enjoy teaching my child how to pick the best produce and why (too hard, going bad, smells good , etc) and yes about the watermelon!! I did the same thing - definitely cheaper Whole and not precut 🍉
I agree with everything you say, particularly about dried beans (and healthy whole grains) A well-stocked pantry is invaluable - it can enable you to postpone the next shopping trip for a couple of days, and if you hate shopping as much as I do, that's a win!
The suggestion I would add to your list is that, when meal planning, you should build in an opportunity to eat your leftovers. Otherwise if you have every single meal slot accounted for, you'll end up throwing food away. And that's wasteful and bad for your wallet.
Personally, I favour batch cooking. Make twice as much of something (casseroles, veggie burgers, chilli etc.) as you need, and pop the second half into the freezer. Then if you have a day when you're exhausted or you know you're going to be pressed for time, you can pull out something home-cooked and nutritious, thaw it and reheat it. Minimal effort, maximum health! 😊
Thanks for this
Great suggestions 😊❤
Thank you🍃
Great video!
I agree with all you have said......now another video can be how not to waste the good food we buy!!
Yah. Buying store brand saves a lot of money. When you know biology and chemistry you know they're all the same. When you choose name brand items you're just paying extra for the brand name and the prettier packaging. Thank you.
It depends. Sometimes the store brand isn't organic, or pasture-raised, or some other "superior" classification. That said, Albertsons has a great organic brand, O Organics, which is nearly as cheap as their standard Signature Select brand.
So glad to hear that watermelon is a great food…it’s my favorite too! Don’t really know about the store brands though…maybe! I’d like to learn more about them. I don’t like to shop and so for others like me, a list not only saves $$; but also time, and I really hate to forget stuff and have to go back! I’m not a good cook and I don’t like doing it, because for me personally, there’s so many other things I could be doing! Would love a “Quick and healthy and yummy” cook book! Of course I want it all! Thank you!
I keep my list handy to be prepared for that moment when I decide it's time for more from the store. I shop at Wal-Mart and before I go, I know where the items are supposed to be. I go about once a week, beacuse that's about the limit for any fresh produce around here.
Love your channel. Question-do you have any types of cookware you avoid due to health concerns?
Iron and copper
Frozen veggies, big packages. I had to resort to them for time limitations, and so far it’s been great. I get variety (I combine different types of mixes) and convenience (just grab and “steam cook” in microwave or stir-fry). A true time saver. The only thing not included are leafy greens, which I get separately.
they also sell some leafy greens frozen just for those emergencies.
Dr. Liu, do you know anything about seasonal allergies and how to manage or even eliminate them? My son suffers from them terribly every year and it would be great if you could do a video about it to educate us who want to help family members. Thank you!

Grow your own.
Once a week? um no for a ton of reasons! your greens have mini molds on them by the end of a week, pass on that. I can control myself. Also, groceries are only 10% of the budget now!? cheapsters run after food bargains....
