I've been watching a lot of nutrition related content lately, and the doctors disagree on about 95% of everything, but the very few things absolutely all of them agree on: 1) don't eat sugar 2) don't eat processed foods 3) don't use seed oils. After that, they disagree on everything :-)

@@repomannvI can't point you to a specific video, but I've seen people like Dr. Mike Israetel from RP Strength talk a little bit about it -- IIRC he said it isn't so much about the seed oils themselves, per se, but rather when it's been repeatedly reheated and reused like in a deep fryer at a fast food joint, as opposed to you just using it once and disposing of it. I could be wrong, but I believe that was the crux of it. Oxidation, polymerization, etc.

I was so disappointed and disgusted that I gave up. Now it occurs to me that if I would have kept going, another year later I would have had at least another 16 lbs off for a total of 32. @@Healthyimmunedoc thank you. I am in my 70s and actually our high school Principal taught us some nutrition. Just the same, back in the 60s healthy nutrition wasn't common knowledge. I remember he told us to not eat so many big greasy cheese burgers. He even mentioned how he believed it was terrible that the fast food places would soak the buns in the hamburger grease, as the bun was toasted. But I was 16, and I really didn't understand why that was so bad. Knowledge of the "why" in 1966, was not that prevalent. Our Principal read all the time. He'd stay up late nights, reading books. They fired him because he didn't have a Masters degree, and that seemed really unfair and crazy. He was one of the smartest people I have ever know, degree or no degree.

Some notes listening to this interesting lecture: Avoid all added sugars and reducere or avoid all refined carbohydrates but if you are physically active its not a Great problem, but avoid eating refined carbs and not moving your body ( go for a walk After eating) and stop all alcohol, inflammation starts early ( 11 years Old) measure your total LDL in the blood, avoid eating animal fats or minimize if you want a long and healthy life and avoid coconut oil and whole coconut milk, peanut butter is ok if it is pure ( without palm oil), avoid ice cream, cheese and pizza, but in moderation whole grain sourdough bread and naturally fermented cheese are not quite as bad ( but still has saturated fat and often too much salt) - take 3 blood tests: triglycerides, LpA , ApoB to check your cholesterol levels 🙏❤❤❤

I have been advised to get the more in depth cholesterol tests to get a better reading of my basic health... not just the standard HDL and LDL blood tests which my doctor is using but the next level, that is, the tests for - triglicerides, LpA, and ApoB. The suggestion is that these more depth tests might prove my doctor wrong and all is okay. That also contradicts the information in this video as well but I have to go back and watch it again. Thank you! I'm vegan and get so tired of people on a carnivore diet telling me to eat beef, drink full fat milk, etc. it's ironic that vegans are stereotyped as telling others what to eat when everyone else tells vegans what to eat. 😂

The thing about carnivore that it is quite easy to overeat because every bite is dense food, meanwhile you won't crash the diet when you overate a broccoli.
Whether is vegan or omnivore, it's still the same principle of 'move more, eat less'.

I had high triglycerides since childhood and all the way into adulthood until I turned to the Keto diet. It's the only diet that brought down my triglycerides and put all my cholesterol in a healthy range. My Dr was so proud of me. I eat lean cuts of meat and a healthy keto diet. I truly believe it saved my life. I no longer suffer migraines or severe insomnia. I have never felt better in my life. Thanks for sharing

I did this as well. My doctor was happy with my labs and weight loss until he learned how I did it. He told me that eating keto isn't sustainable, and continued to lecture me that I should eat whole grains and cut out red meat. That was TEN YEARS AGO and my labwork has stayed the same as has my weight loss.

There was/is still a wave of people who believe that saturated fat is not bad for you. They load up on butter, coconut oil, bacon, steak, etc… They know that sugar and refined flours raise triglycerides and cholesterol but they think the focus on saturated fats was wrong. I believe you. It doesn’t seem healthy to eat too much saturated fat OR sugar and certainly no hydrogenated oils and as few seed oils as possible. Thank you for this great video.

Alcohol boxed foods sugar smoking all not good all poorly affect your all day everyday so you just need to get yourself to stop it. Good luck❤

We have more cases of diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure than 100 years ago . Way back people were eating anything they wanted to eat and they did not have all these issues. If you start eating organic foods and exercise more often , get enough sleep , stay away from stress most of the health issues will go away . Make sure to smile more, be happy and be healthy!

So many people live on peanut butter, Mac and cheese and thought coconut oil was healthy!
Thanks for all bad foods you mentioned. I think doctors are overwhelmed with people wanting a quick fix and it takes a while for patients to figure out what is junk and what is not!
I hope you stay healthy and live a long life! Doctors are overworked and get stressed, too!🍐🍎🥦🥑

For anyone interested, the peanut butter brand called Crazy Richard's Peanut Butter is made of peanuts only. That's it. The ingredient list literally reads Ingredients: Peanuts. It's good too! And in my area, it is actually less expensive than the national brands.

Costco Organic peanut butter is also just peanuts and salt. I often actually remove it from the jar to mix it with my immersion blender, then return it to the jar before refrigerating, because sometimes it has a layer of oil on the top from sitting which causes separation. It's worth the trouble though because it's excellent and the best tasting that I've been able to find.
