This is my second video on the brand new Pocket Go 2 retro handheld. In this video, I cover SNES performance using a variety of titles. Unlike the last video, I am using the stock emulator that ships with this unit, so performance may not look identical to the SNES performance on the RG350 even though both of these have the same processor.

@@skins4thewin it was $54.99 for the first 1000 orders. So it only went up $5. Still I'm kinda kicking myself for not ordering it then. Still undecided as I already have the original pocket-go, odroid go, and gpi, but none of them do SNES or PS1 very well.
Hi Taki Udon, I just got an RG350 and I feel the D pad is terribly placed and my finger starts to hurt after a short while, is this device more comfortable than the RG350, I think that is a far more important criteria than a few extra frames.

yo, does Earthbound work well on this system? Ill be playing that the most tbh. Im just waiting for a few more months for prices to drop
The main test for snes are not FX games, but rendering ranger r2 or Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius, Those games needed frameskip on GCW Zero on certain areas or stages,
This hardware is on par with the GCW Zero, so expect the same level of performance.

Can you make a console round-up closer to the end of year? I know a lot of people (including me) who are really interesting in this kind of product for GBA, PS1, Arcade emulation but it feels like there's too much to choose from.
What are your overall impressions? Why is there two TF slots? I assume one is for the OS and wone is for roms? Also will it play PSP?
You are right about the sd card slots but regarding its power its barely capable of running all PS1 games so PSP is a no go for sure.
3:05 You can hear the emulator struggling to hit those notes. Since nearly all of the games are fullspeed, hopefully audio emulation becomes the next big priority.

Tbh, I felt that way too, but I'm not sure. It doesn't get as bright as the 350 does, but it can alias my 4k camera just like the 350h and that one has the best display right now.

The RG350's problem is that there's an air gap between the upper facing glass and the LCD unit (Think smartphones from the early 2010s and that 'sunk in' look), which, as Taki says, causes it to not be able to alias his camera
Said air gap can cause internal reflections when being used outdoors, which offsets its brightness advantage
When you take a look at Taki's screen comparison between the GKD350 and RG350 (ua-cam.com/video/FA0CbHPgO8o/v-deo.html at 4:14 and 8:19), you can tell that the GKD350's screen has that 'laminated' look, without and air gap between the top layer - the air gap between the glass and the LCD panel underneath the RG350 makes things look more washed out. This difference will be exacerbated if used outdoors under bright daylight

TBH I'd wait if you already have the 350 unless you have a spare 54$ in your pocket book. If its not as bright of a display might hurt even though that first version of the pocket go have a bright colorful screen.

@@jondavies5393 I expect I should get it some time in the middle of January, unless they ship early. I have a few orders shipped weeks ago from other vendors in China that I'm still waiting on, even with express shipping (I'm in the US). Wish I could have it for the holidays but I wouldn't count on it.

Hi Taki, I'm new to this stuff but I would like to buy one like this. Does it come with the games and emulators? Could you load it up with say 50 mame games, 50 N64 games, nes, snes, etc. All together? I'm guessing not. Can you connect this to a monitor or 4k TV? Thanks
This one comes with games, but mine were all in Chinese. It's basically illegal for them to include games with these, so don't expect to see any depending on the country you live in. You can load this up to your heart's content, but there is no AV on the device.
YOU, yes you.. are my favorite reviewer by far!!! My ultimate goal is having a handheld that can emulate SNES games perfectly, especially RPG Games such as Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, etc.. could you say that SNES games work great? I have a PSP GO, but playing Chrono Trigger with a stuttering opening video is a big big big turn off for me, and i hate frame skipping so i’ m aiming for a new handheld option.. either these or rg350

I know it comes with emulators but does it come with the roms already in them? Some reviewers say yes and some say no. The website seems to say yes and no at the same time.
can you recommend this one over the rg350? I know that they both mount the same processor, but how is the overall feeling of it? does it feel "cheap" in hands? or good quality materials?

Can you make a video showing NBA Jam or NBA Jam TE running in the MAME emulator?
Specs are about the same as rg-350 : JZ4770 Dual-Core 64Bit - 1.00Ghz and 320x240 ips screen. So games should run as good as on the rg-350.
I wonder why Secret of mana seems to work better at this one compared to the RG350.

Hey Taki I just received my RG350 but I apparently got screwed because the people I bought it from failed to inform me it didn't come with any games for any emulators is their some where I can buy a SD card with it like already set up for the rg350 I'm not the most software inclined person and I don't own a regular computer so any simple soloution/fixes would be greatly appreciated thank you (also love the channel keep up the amazing work)
Emulators are an easy fix. Try to find torrents for ROM packs. You will need a computer
Does this handheld comes with Doom, Quake and ports such as them? I mean it's the same as every other handheld at the moment in terms of ports and emulators?
Not right away I wouldn't suppose. Custom firmware with all the usual suspects will follow.

I do prefer small factor handheld like Bittboy or LDK so can easily put in the pocket. If i need larger screen why don't use smartphone or tablet pairing with bluetooth gamepad 🤷🏻♂️

How's Super Metroid play? I have an LDK Landscape and was devastated so find Samus glitch out whenever she was injured... Any glitches on this?

It works perfectly, if someone doesn't have sound, they are missing a file that goes with the ROM

Most likely, this doesn't ship with the best SNES emulator available.

@@TakiUdon I'm only familiar with emulators on Android and exactly which emulator you run can make all the difference. Which platform would you say is the best in that regard?
@@TimSormin well, there are way less options with these systems. Some systems only have a single emulator to pick. Android has better emulators, but their userbase is also ridiculously huge.

Firmware can be tricky but join a retro gaming community plus it comes with 6000 pre installed games so I think that should cover it

Please test neo geo games, especially the large files ones like garou mark of the wolf. Interested to see if they load fast.
If it is using that same emulator as the previous version then it won’t load them They will get stuck on the decrypting. If they use final burn alpha then it may work if it has enough on board memory which I think it will.

This miyoo runs SNES at 60/60 frame rate which I can't on my RG-300..I have to use 'frame skip 1' or 'auto' to play Fzero smooth at about 30/60 same with Yoshi's island..or it tries to run at 40 plus - stutters and is unplayable..SNES is quite demanding for 16bit..but I'll stick with the 300 for a while..maybe a 350 next year..rest of its emulation on comic theme is fine..I should try the stock RetroFW again for comparison..specs

@@NathanChisholm041 I dunno much about the internals..but Google specifications shows different processors..my RG-300s got the JZ4760b same as RS-97 and the miyoo / bittboy pocket go has JZ4770 same as the RG-350..its a small improvement apparently..there may be other minor internal changes too..specs

you have to dump the roms from original cartridge and transfer them on the sd card

This device seems to be a down-grade version ( less expensive ) of RG350, fitted with the identical CPU and the same-size display as RG350.
Simplicity ( of UI / mechanical design ) and supply at an affordable price look like the strongest merit of this hand-held machine.
I would say its an upgrade. No right stick getting in the way of the buttons lol.
@@jondavies5393 but the uploader said the display of this one isn't as bright as rg-350. If it's true, it's rly hard to determine what is better handheld emulator. I still think rg-350 is slightly better than this one. I wanna watch the comparison between them.

You could nitpick this thing to death, like the 2000mah battery being smaller than the 2500mah battery in the rg350, mono speaker vs stereo, and so on. But it’s half the price so...I’m good.
