I read Taking Charge of your Fertility 7 years ago and have been off of birth control since then! That book was such a game changer for me, I recommend it to all of my friends!
Hanna I had very few breakouts when I got off of birth control. I attribute that to taking supplements to help balance my hormones ( I took vitex). I recently gave birth and I’m 6 months postpartum and still no breakouts 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼.
A I took a few things as well as did an estrogen detox. I saw a naturopath that helped me, I would t suggest you start taking supplements without seeking some help from a professional as not everyone needs the same things. I took maca powder before I took vitex, I had good results with both.
I literally purchased a monthly subscription to LOLA within the first 3 minutes of this video. Thank you for suggesting it, I've been looking to switch out my usual tampax tampons that are awful and super expensive. Such good info in this video!
Never would have even known about hypothalamic amenorrhea until I watched your previous video on the menstrual cycle/hormones. I immediately bought the book No Period Now What and have been in recovery for 6 months now. I have yet to regain my cycle, but I owe this recovery process to you sharing that video and opening up my eyes to how not having a period is NOT normal. Thanks for all your wonderful content you share!
I’d love if you shared a study about the z-no-estrogens! I never knew that candles/lotions can affect our hormones in that way. I’d love if you shared where you discovered this!
The Hormone Cure is also another AMAZING book that addresses the 6 main hormone issues a woman may have, then gives natural steps on how to cure those specific issues. I’m reading it right now and I’m HOOKED. 🧡
Thank Youuu!! Had no idea that all of this was affecting my period so hard. Your in depth explanations are amazing. Please keep educating us. Much love.
My cycle went from non existent as a teen(managed with birth control), to every 3 months coming off of birth control to regulating to about every 32 days for the last 4 years. I got the think dirty app and I’m slowly trying to switch to more non toxic products. As well as eat healthier. I know I’ve been eating too much junk lately. What do you recommend to someone who is interested in essential oils but finds the smells too powerful or overwhelming?
What are you’re thoughts on birth control? I’ve been on various types since 15. Since 22 I would say maybe later on but my periods again are irregular or disappear. I have BAD pms (mood swings, irritability, depression, anxiety, migraines, lethargy, bloating…) and I have PCOS (I have cysts, difficulty getting the rest of my weight off/easily gain weight, depression/anxiety, hair thinning)…I also am hardly ever “in the mood”. I feel like I’m a complete mess. I also just had a paratubal cyst and my fallopian tube removed while in the hospital. I feel like I’m just completely out of whack. I don’t even want to be on BC anymore because my fiancé and I want to try for kids a year after we’re married and we get married this November. I have my post op OBGYN appointment tomorrow morning. But from a RD perspective I really appreciate holistic advice.
Advice for diet changes for someone like me who has pcos ? My pcos is makes it very challenging to lose weight and I keep trying different diets and nothing seems to help. I work out almost every day and I’m loosing hope that I’ll ever be able to get my hypothyroidism and pcos in control
Could you talk a bit about the oils that you use from YL to help with your cycle and how to use them? I used the Pro+ for a bit and it really messed with me
My periods were always very consistent from the very first period when (I got my first period when I was 12). When I was 19 my parents had a high conflict situation in our home and my periods stopped for 12 months then it got back to normal. When I turned 41 the conflict situation happened again within my family. My periods stopped again. Since then I haven't had my periods. I'm not sure what's going on with me other than I have been stressed out for a very long time. (..by the way, I'd like to be clear about the reason of my family conflicts. My family is involved in the Jehovah's Witnesses cult and *the JW cult manipulations are only source of all the conflicts.* I've never had any relationships.) Can I have hope to have my periods again? (I was a JW myself before.)
Hello.. You must break those generational curses in your bloodline.. Pray to God and ask him to guide you. Do this asap!!! You cant break the curses without Him!!
I’m having a hard time because I went off the pill almost 2 years ago and have switched most of my products to non-toxic. I only got my period (after waiting a year) when I took Clomid to induce ovulation. I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS but I have “normal hormone levels” so I am so lost of what to do. Any advice? I obviously don’t want to go back on the pill even though that’s what’s recommended by most physicians😞
Kate Noz I wouldn’t say I’ve “tried” anything for PCOS specifically, and I’m still not convinced that I actually have it. But over the past few years I’ve traded out almost all of my products for non-toxic ones. I exercise regularly (weight lifting and cardio), prioritize my sleep (7.5+ hours a night), and eat a mostly whole food diet. I’m just not interested in taking the usual drugs to mask the symptoms of PCOS and have a fake period, so I’m stuck at the moment! Have you found anything that has helped you yet? If you don’t mind, may I ask what your symptoms are? My doctors have said only 2 of 3 criteria need to be met for a diagnosis. The ones I fit are no period and cysts on my ovaries (although my naturopath disagrees). I used to have bad cystic acne but I would not say that’s an issue anymore and hasn’t been for a while.
@@lauracastro6967 Hi! I don't have PCOS, but I HIGHLY recommend reading "The Period Repair Manual" by Lara Briden! She covers a ton about PCOS and how to go about getting diagnosed correctly, and if you do have it how to manage it. If I'm remembering correctly, if your hormone levels are normal (especially androgen level), then I don't think you qualify for PCOS diagnosis and there is something else going on.
@@amandaadams5786 Thank you so much! I have heard of that book but I didn't realize it specifically discusses PCOS. I will definitely give it a read :) That's what seems weird to me! My physician said it's all about balancing my hormones, but my hormones appear to be balanced so I don't have a clear direction...It's hard to find people in my life to talk to about this because I'm the only one of my friends/family interested in more natural ways of approaching health. I really appreciate your reply and recommendation!
Laura Castro you’re so welcome! I honestly think it’s an amazing book to learn how to repair your cycles naturally. I just checked and there’s a solid 30 pages of info about PCOS! And honestly it doesn’t sound like that’s what you have, so hopefully this book can give you some answers! I read you eat a diet of mostly whole foods, are you consuming enough carbs? That’s the first thing that came to my mind. If you aren’t eating enough carbs it may cause your body to bring your period to a halt.
Wow this came at the perfect time. I threw up this morning because my cramps were so bad... Hoping to balance out my hormones and take some ideas from this video.
I’ve seen the Lola brand before at target but I was so hesitant to purchase it because I know what works best for me with no leaking but I’ll definitely give it a try!
I have a video suggestion. I see an article going around about heavy metal toxins in baby food. To my understanding they are there because the toxins are in the environment they are grown in or some naturaly occurring. Yet many are outraged at the food companies. Can u shed light on this and maybe the heavy metal toxins in jarred vs homemade. Since they are in the food themseves.
I thought the same thing when I saw that article today. It’s not just baby food that these heavy metals are in, it’s in the food we eat. The article is so misleading and trying to scare everyone. It’s a pretty known thing that rice and juices (particularly apple juice) have arsenic and heavy metals. They are some of the largest offenders. I read soooooo many comments where people are angry at the companies for it. So sad that the mass public is so misinformed and uneducated on what is in their food!
@@Simply.KiraMarie yes and when i explain that they would be present in homemade versions because they are in the produce itself i got called ignorant. Really i hate how pople believe a media article but not science.
Another idea might be how the advertising fools people. For example chicken claiming they dont use growth hormones when supposedly they have been banned for a while. Or how food labels itself no added nitrates or nitrites. Yet they add celery juice which has them naturally occuring so is it heathier
Thank you for this video!! I shared it on my FB because this is so important and a big reason why I broke up with candles, perfume, and other toxic products. Switching to essential oils has been life changing!! Also- can you add the links for the books you mentioned?! :)
Bookishhorsegirl I use 100% pure essential oils from Young Living.. they’re not toxic, they’re made from plants 👍🏼 If you buy oils at the grocery store.. then you might have an issue. Candles that contain artificial fragrances are toxic.
@@AccordingToAlly Sorry but just because it is young living doesn't make it better. So it is only better to buy oils from them then at a place like Target? I don't by it. Lighting one candle won't do any harm. Again too much of anything is bad for you. You have your opinion and I have mine. You can't be paranoid about every little toxin though it is important to be aware of some. Most of the ones who use Young Living are just trying to sell a product.
Unfortunately Lola or the other organic tampon company that sells in Target, doesn’t offer “ultra” (super duper high) absorbency. They only offer “super” & maybe “super plus.” This is why I haven’t bought Lola.
Kate Noz yeah I haven’t seen her have it either but as a RD I feel like she’d know more of the why, and if the cons are the reason she doesn’t. Just curious 😊
Larissalilox no!! they have fragrance in them. Even though the front of the bottle says made with essential oils there is still fragrance and there is no way to know the quality of essential oils they are using if they are using them. Bath & body works is highly toxic 😭😭
One Bath and Body Works candle or scent isn't a bad thing. Essential oils have fragrance too. Again just because it is young living doesn't make things better. Too much of anything is bad for you, even essential oils.
