Actually, they did so well because back then they were still honouring the brexit referendum. Labour could have been led by a dead fish and all they would have had to do at 2019's election was to support brexit and they would have cleaned up.
This is downright creepy, making people sign pledges is weird as hell. The only pledge any politician should sign and the only oath they should make is to their country and to their people, if a jew is a citizen of the UK, he is British, and he is subject to the same laws and benefits from the same protections as everyone else, simple as that.
I hope and pray that Rebecca Long-Bailey and Richard Burgon become the new Labour Leader and Deputy Leader. As a staunch Tory with those 2 in charge we will win in 2024, and 2029😁😁😁😁
That is the reality of it , they "Labour " need to start and be honest with themselves they are not good enough and they turned their backs on 17.4 Million people .
Why should the UK be relying on the UN to decide whether or not to respond or not respond militarily? If a British embassy is attacked a measured response should be decided upon by the elected government of the British nation. Good god do any of these Labour politicians believe in the idea of countries governing themselves?
That was complete rubbish. Pledge 8 does not mean he cant talk to fringe groups. What it means is they cant talk to fringe groups and ignore the main groups. Like when corbyn decided to tackle anti semitism by finding fringe groups of jews that hated Israel and then saying look I'm talking to jews...

He's not unambiguously opposed to anti-semitism in the Labour Party because as a left-winger he is too close to the Palestinian lobby within the party.
Israel was founded by betraying our nation and murdering our soldiers and officials. I have no time for the modern Labour party in general but they are right on this one, anyone who supports Israel, or bows down to the international Jewish lobby, is a traitor to Britain.

This is very frustrating. The wording of the 'ten pledges' has been altered here. The wording presented here is of course perfectly reasonable but the wording of the actual pledges is a little more controversial. If Richard wants to put his head above the parapet, he really needs to get better at calling out media tricks such as this. It's not the first time I've been dissapointed with Richard's handling of Sophie Ridge. In another interview with Richard, Sophie describes Corbyn as a 'friend and ally' of Hamas without being challenged by Richard. There has never been any indication at all that Corbyn is an 'ally' of Hamas so why are comments like these just left unchallenged? The inability of the 'Labour left' to call out these inaccuracies is, in my opinion an important part of why they've failed so badly electorally. Nobody is going to vote for a party that is perceived to be antisemitic, anti-British and supporting of terrorism. The next leader better get much better at media management if they want to win in 2024.
So relived that this clown didn’t win the deputy leadership. Not even a shadow cab position. In 2024 hopefully we can put forward much better candidates.
