It is generally better to do all rough cuts first as it releases any tension in the grain which may cause the smaller section you are cutting the timber into to spring and bend. A smaller section is also lighter and less laborious to handle as it goes over the surfacer. Hope this was useful, have a nice day 😊
@@davelindsay8833 When I do these jobs, the first thing I do is create a straight edge on my FELDER AD951 before taking it to the K740s. You should always start with a dead straight edge and that is the first thing to create in my opinion. Doing it the way you did if your blades are new and don't create burn marks. Then again, what do I know?
There are few things that I love than seeing a true craftsman take a couple of pieces of wood, in this case, walnut and with the right tools and skills turn them into a magnificent work of art. My hats off to you sir. Job well done.
Great job. I guess all the carpenters in the world use the same technique. Some has access to latest tools some uses ancient one but we should appreciate them as they make your furniture and wood work more attractive.
Not sure why I watched it but it's interesting to see how someone else makes the door. I have different machines so the process is different for me. Same result in the end.
Bonjour, Merci pour cette belle vidéo ! Quelle essence de bois avez vous utilisé pour cette porte ? Votre chaîne YT est très inspirante, continuez. Bonne soirée
I wonder how many hundreds of doors you've made...and how many thousands in this establishment...and for how many years...Truly an industrial level shop making beautiful doors. This one was walnut?
Where are you located? I need some doors on an old house replaced. I love your craftsmanship! It reminds me of the woodwork that my beloved Scottish grandfather used to do.
Work looks great. Only two issues I saw and they scared me for you. 1) no riving knife on table saw, kick back can happen even to the most experienced pros 2) running the boards with no router sled and same on table saw for tenons. Great stuff but still dangerous and can be prevent possible harm.
The video could be longer covering the assembly and finished product. Other than that a highly engrossing watch. There is something about raw wood turned into art
Need to time lapse these videos I didn’t need to watch you cut, plane and surface every board Let’s get on with the build! Isn’t that what we came here for?
Why did you not joint or plane on your surfacer a straight edge and then run that against your fence in the beginning? Nice job in the end though!
Maybe next time thanks

Is that a interior door? The wood is some beautiful stuff, looks like black walnut? What for finish?
Thank you for your interest, yes it is an interior door, finished with varnish.

may i ask what type of wood and what the cost of this door was good sir?
The wood type is Sapele and the cost of the door is approximately $600, thank you for your interest.
Where did you get the jointer with the side mortise attachment?
The side mortise attachment is with the jointer from the factory and the brand name is Griggio Woodworking Machinery.
Thank you. That's a great idea for a multi tool
