@@88darnell No, if you have ever worked with wood, the condition and sharpness of the tools reflect the quality of the woodworker and hsi skill level. He has a good eye for design, just not a skilled habit of craftsmanship.

Perfection! Total enjoyed every single step. A wealth of knowledge of watching a true craftsman at work, showing the true nature and use of every wood working tool at its proper and intentional use, less the million dollar high end workshop investment seen these daze.
Nothing against those workshops if you lack this craftsmanship of this obvious Western termed Journeyman...
I watched with patience in its entirety, loving every moment. The labor, skillset, and ability to use almost every single piece of equipment and then some, will be easily $20,000. Oh did I mention the quality of wood?

I AM truly lost for words on this creation - this 70year old craftsman must have lived several generations to learn and have the time and patience to put this unique creation together is definitely unbelievable but magnificence. Has he got time to give the glory to GOD ALMIGHTY for the provision of the material he used. It's truly a 'masterpiece' fit for a palace setting.

A very good job done by the carpenter, especially considering its age. I missed the door and the shelf inside the drum under the table top. You could store good wine or caffe there.

I especially love the patterned top, really beautiful !!! Still wondering which wood glue allows for so much 'open time' before the clamps can get on. For the frame below it, adding a bunch of dowels instead of just relying on glue and screws, would have made things quite a bit stronger. Still, a super result ...

Love the basket weave top! That would be a great pattern for a brick walkway.
Lots of things I would do differently. Definitely going to be some glue starved joints.
Time to sharpen up the tools and put a new blade on the bandsaw.
Total lack of protection/safety is very prevalent in most of the eastern manufacturing. Gives me the willys!!
The top was worth the watch though!

I think this is a beautiful basket weave and I think it's awesome that they're using a thick base to put the blocks on to make sure it's secure. I don't know about the gluing practice though but this is helping me to learn how to make stuff like this.

I see a lot of complaints here but most would drop several hundred to several thousand for a table like this, at a "reputable" store or website..
As for the "dull" comments, it could be that the wood is just that dense.
Not everyone has a commercial grade tools and workshop to work in.
