I think people are sometimes unnecessarily suspicious just because a website is Chinese. Amazon and other stores import the same Chinese stuff and puts their own stickers and packing on it. There are so so sooo many who do this. Wallmart, Flying Tiger, Dollarstore and other chains like it. You're just cutting out the middle man, all you have to do is pay attention to reviews and seller reputation. For anyone shopping at Aliexpress choose the "choice shipping". It's the most reliable, not all sellers have it so find one who does. It's completely trackable and pretty quick. I think you only need to buy for like 10 or 12 bucks to get it free. I usually buy buy other things on there like toys and Lego tho. I've been curious about crafting materials tho since what stores carry here in Sweden is very lackluster and usually focused on kids or generic painting materials and sewing materials. You can't even easily find Copic markers which annoyed me greatly when I used to draw.
Thank you! I never knew that tip about shipping!! I agree that the quality of craft materials from Chinese websites are just as good or even better than stuff you find in stores, especially in Europe. I think people underestimate just how many things are manufactured and exported from China...literally 99% of all the objects you touch on a daily basis even if it's branded or assembled in a different country. And to state the obvious, I'm Chinese myself and I know that the vast majority of people in China aren't scammers or criminals. They just want to do business and earn money like everyone else. All the sellers I wrote to in Xiaohongshu were super nice and it was exactly the same vibe as shopping from Etsy.
It is not at all about that. People who have a brain do not support sweatshops and it does not matter were it is from sweatshops are terrible and I do not support them.
Yep, I’m European. The Amazon European options are TRASH. Ugly, expensive and most are also false advertising. So I buy everything from alibaba/aliexpress. I’m literally buying the same product for much much cheaper. Recently I started to also buy technology and electronics. I wish Europe was on that level. We care too much about preserving small businesses that won’t survive this market or century. But big companies also have a big monopoly here in Europe and I literally just want the best product, I don’t care if I have to pay more, just give me what I ask for and the best you have. Chinese products (if you know how to look for it) are the same quality if not better. And cheaper. I would literally be crazy if I bought my cute phone case for 22 euros instead of the 3 euros it costs me to buy a much cuter design from China. All the cute stuff here is so ugly, I hate it here. I’ve also bought a lot of exclusive Chinese and Japanese merch of certain brands, just cause the merch is cuter in Asia. I only have good things to say, and the bad things also happen with European products, so for me it’s a win-win
@@maqaroon underneath another one if your videos I left a comment (now deleted) being overly suspicious, this might seen odd, but I just want to apologize as I have thought it over (and even ordered a taba off of aliexpress which u had overall good experiences with) and realized I was incorrect, I'm sorry that people are putting you under so much scrutiny for the websites you use.
Id like to point out that curing time is NOT the same as working time. Working time is how long it takes until the material is too sticky or stiff to work with. So like, 3 hours until youre no longer to touch it without causing damage to it. Curing time is how long it takes to fully cure. You may be able to take it out or handle it before then, but it wont be fully cured untip that timeframe is up.
Yes I forgot to mention in the video that some of the gels did come with working time instructions as well. The working time for these silicones is around 15-20mins (some up to 40mins) which is quite good and gives you sufficient time to mix colours together.
Thank you for doing this because i get very confused by all the different bottles/ non brands. I also get my stuff from all over, so dont worry about people being weird about where you buy stuff from. If they don't wont to buy from these platforms then they don't have to.
while it’s fine that you don’t mind not knowing what a specific product you’re working with actually is, i really doubt that a lot of people are going to similarly enjoy not knowing what product they’re using for a specific craft. at best it’s a waste of time and money, at worst it could be actually dangerous if they’re not taking the correct safety precautions when working with it.
I always love how you explain everything so thoroughly and show us the many results in detail! I remember long ago, i discovered your channel looking at craft stuff like felting and such. Then it was driving me nuts trying to figure out how i could make my own squish so was glad to see you get into that too. But the materials were much harder to get so i haven't done it, but now it seems way more accessible and easier. I want to try this, i have so many molds i can try.

Yayy new video!!!!❤ Btw..What are your views on the slime trend. It dawned upon me the other day that the slime craze has slowly faded away like the fidget spinner trend. But i do think that slime can come back into trend due to its versatility and can be included in other projects. What are your views on this? I was thinking about something combining taba+slime. Ik this is weird but to be honest i really miss the slime trend😅 Btw great video!!❤
I think slime is coming back again! It's become a sort of viral/nostalgic meme for the kids who watched it back in 2015 and are grown up now. And of course, there's a new wave of gen alpha kids who also want to know how it works. I actually bought materials for a new slime vid shortly before the taba thing started.
The point is not that people have had bad experiences( though most have), it's that these companies are scammy, exploitative, and steal people's designs and artwork with very little quality control and promote fast fashion with is a multilayered bad.
Fair point however I need to balance the priorities of my viewers with broad views on what type of retail behaviour is "good" or "bad". The vast majority of my viewers want to learn new DIY techniques and also want to know where to buy the materials that I show in my videos. If I made a blanket decision never to mention Amazon or Aliexpress due to the fact a few sellers on those platforms infringe intellectual property rights in areas entirely unrelated to my channel or content, then my viewers lose out a lot of value of what they're coming here to learn.
Fun fact: Poor crafters REALLY don't care about all that. I know I don't. I've never had a bad experience or known someone that did. If I had the money to care, that would be great. But I simply don't.

I'm new to the world of squishies, so I have a really silly question that I can't seem to find a straightforward answer to (maybe you have a video that mentions this?)... are any of these suitable for a squishy toy that is NOT meant to be confined in a baggie?
Yes you can definitely keep them outside a bag as well! They're quite sticky so they might pick up dirt more easily. If you add flocking powder, cornstarch or glitter then it reduces the stickiness a lot and they become easier to play with
The one I saw on Taobao shopping app were labelled as 食品级捏捏硅胶 with red A bottle and blue B bottle. Quite different than what you showed here. Both written Watery Pinch Silicone on the label as well. I'm not sure if they're legit taba squishy silicone but based on reviews many reported they have successfully made their own taba squishy with it. Around ¥100-¥165 for full set squishy DIY kit. Still not sure if I want to buy it.
I'm not interested in making squishies but I might try using this stuff to make my own knitting needle grips! Edit: also, you may have had the issue with the control squishy because you may have used a pigmented paint, not a dyed paint. Paint pigments are granular and sometimes have a tendency to settle in a solution. Despite being lower quality a dyed paint would probably work better
Yes I realised I used a resin pigment in the purple squishy instead of a silicone one! The labels are virtually identical so I didn't even read the writing on them
Not sure if I’ll get an answer, but I’ve been noticing that with taba squishies, no one really plays with them outside of the packages; are you able to? Why does no one do it?
Its mostly because they are coated in flocking powder And also because the packaging is very aesthetic so i see people mostly avoid taking them out to so as to not ruin the aesthetics of it. But its totally fine to take it out if its not coated with flocking powder.
Yes it's totally fine to take them out of the bag but I think most people don't want to ruin the packaging. Especially if it's stapled, it's a hassle trying to open that. Also, flocking powder doesn't always feel good on your skin...it can feel weird and itchy. So I prefer playing with the flocked ones wearing gloves or inside the bag.

I used the 'big square logo ones' from AliExpress so 3rd one in your picture at the start. I used 1:1 ratio and the same colour pigment as you well the bottles look the same it says morandi pigment paste perhaps its wrong ? and it hasn't cured at all and I noticed the colour didn't mix in properly at all it just stayed in balls of colour and bubbles or colour. Do you know what I might of done wrong ?
Just wondering I wanted to buy the meetcrafts resin and tried to search for it on the app as it is easier to buy on there but it wasn't there but the link says that it can deliver to australia so I'm not sure why it's not showing up. Is there a way I can use your affiliate link on the app to purchase or is it only purchasable online?
If the squishy gel A and B parts don’t have an expiration date, then how can you tell if it’s not good to use anymore, aside the color? Also, is it possible to fix squishies with holes from the air pockets?
I find that silicone has a very long shelf life and I've used gels that were 5-7 years old without any problems. As long as it looks and smells normal, it should usually work. Unlike resin, they are not prone to discolouring so I have not idea what happened with that brand from the video. It would be theoretically possible to fix holes but it depends on the location and colour. If it's an easy colour to match (eg white) when you can apply a tiny bit into the hole and position the squishy in a way so it doesn't leak out whilst curing. Fixing holes in areas like the hamster ear would be trickier since it's not enclosed
I’d like to politely point out there is numours pieces of evidence as to why people should not trust TEMU. It’s not racist or discriminatory to think so either, there is genuine stories and evidence where people have had hundreds if not thousands of dollars of their hard earned money straight up stolen from their bank accounts and where TEMU also refused to refund said money as well. I wouldn’t trust TEMU period.
Hii im not from mexico but im pretty sure these are new toys/js got popular so they probably are still otw to get popular in mexico, in my country they used to be hard to find but now are kinda popular on online shops i use!
Yes it means "bundle" in Japanese, probably because classic taba squishies are packaged inside a bag with labels and decorations so it creates a bundle of textures. However I'm almost certain that tabas were invented in China, not Japan, because that's where this new type of silicone is manufactured.

Does anyone in Mexico knows why they don't ship here? :"(
Hii im not from mexico but im pretty sure these are new toys/js got popular so they probably are still otw to get popular in mexico, in my country they used to be hard to find but now are kinda popular on online shops i use!
Does the word taba have a meaning/translation?
Yes it means "bundle" in Japanese, probably because classic taba squishies are packaged inside a bag with labels and decorations so it creates a bundle of textures. However I'm almost certain that tabas were invented in China, not Japan, because that's where this new type of silicone is manufactured.
