THIS WAS WRITTEN BY L. E. WHITE AND R. MOODY. NEVER HEARD OF EITHER OF THESE SONGWRITERS NOR THE RECORDING.
JERRY'S RESOUNDING BARITONE REALLY SOUNDED SUPERB. IT DAWNED ON ME THAT I HAVE OFTEN FORGOTTEN TO INCLUDE HIM IN MY LIST OF ICONIC COUNTY VOCALISTS WHO HAVE BEEN REFUSED ENSHRINEMENT IN THE CMHOF. (SHAME ON ME.🙈😫🥺)
SEVERAL OF THE PHOTOS ARE FROM HIS APPEARANCE ON THE DICK CLARK SHOW, AROUND 1964, LIP-SYNCHING HIS HIT "IN THE MISTY MOONLIGHT." (He caught some flack and treasing over his experiment with the "page boy" hair style of "Medieval Times." A "page boy" was a young male attendant of noble birth who worked for other noble families. They were often attendants at weddings and for Knights. This hair style had a resurgence of popularity during the early 1900's, then again in the 1960's and 1970's. Lots of females wore it, such as Toni Tennile.) HE HAD ANOTHER GREAT HIT, "SHUTTERS AND BOARDS," WRITTEN BY AUDIE MURPHY. HIS FIRST COUNTRY RECORDING WAS
"LIFE'S GONE AND SLIPPED AWAY." HIS "TO GET TO YOU" IN 1972 GARNERED HIM A NOMINATION FOR "COUNTRY ARTIST OF THE YEAR" AWARD. I CANNOT RECALL HIS RECORDINGS EVER FEATURING A PEDAL STEEL GUITAR. IT WAS THE SAME WAY WITH SONNY JAMES, EXCEPT FOR ONE RECORDING I FORGOT THE TITLE OF. YET BOTH WERE "COUNTRY TO THE BONE!"🌠👍👏🌠
"PRIMROSE LANE" WAS HIS BIGGEST POP HIT, (#8) BEFORE HE WENT EXCLUSIVELY COUNTRY. HE DIED AT AGE 79 IN 2008 OF CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE.
(CAN YOU POST DAVID ROGERS ON "I'D BE YOUR FOOL AGAIN."(?) IT'S ON THAT "TOPIC" CHANNEL THAT DENIES COMMENTS, AND ON AOTHER CHANNEL, BUT THE AUDIO IS POOR; THE TREBLE RESPONSE IS VERY WEAK.)😊

Good morning Milton! Great information you’ve posted here, some of it I’ve read before, but not all. I hope you’re doing well. I have fallen I fractured my left elbow my first fall with injury. It happened on the sixth and I’m still waiting for a cast! I hope you have a great day.

On some of his album cuts he had steel but his singles didn't, kinda strange i guess, he reminds me of Leroy Van Dyke, i think i have the David Rogers song, L.E. White I've heard of but not the other guy, thank you for listening, Milton
