WOW...what a great demonstration. I have just discovered you, and I'm so glad I did. THESE are the things that are so valuable to learn...especially for those of us who can't always afford the pricey 'solutions'. I've always believed, that all the new products that come out, are no different than what's already out there...but a new name allows them to become a pricier product.
Thank-you EVER so much for doing the footwork.

Given that the base of both Mod Podge and Elmer's are primarily made of PVA, I would have actually expected this result. Since the Elmer's tends to be slightly watered down from most of the higher end PVAs used in book binding, and Mod Podge is thinner/runnier yet, this also meshes well with your results. (it should be noted that both Elmer's and Plaid add things to their PVA base to create a proprietary formula... It is generally those additives that can result in yellowing and other changes over time)

If you coat your laser printed picture with mod podge 3 times letting it dry in between each time then coat whatever with a layer then lay dried photo on top ink/3 layers mod podge side into new layer and yes has to dry overnight but it really comes out incredible. Never had luck with one layer on mod podge. But looks like original with 3 layers before the 1 layer you attach it with to canvas, wood, or whatever type surface then 2 layers on afterwards. Looks crisp and bright and as original. Also you have to use laser prints not inkjet or will smear, and seal with clear spray paint, I like gloss for best results. But glue is fine but if you add too much water to the paper backing it turns to mush and smears, where once mod podge is dry it won't get soluble again, and I can't seem to get off the backing without doing that with glue.

Calm down Nitsa. I have found Modge Podge needs to dry overnight for transfers. I have never tried Elmers for transfers. I use Elmers all the time for gluing things. I don't like the school glue, water softens it too quickly. I like the extra strong formula. You are so cute in the bloopers.
