Hi Linda. Im so sorry you lost your sister at such a young age. Addiction is very sad and difficult to see in our loved ones. Its clear from the way you talk about her how much you loved her. I did chuckle when you said she thought she was posh and questioned having lasagna with chips lol. Its nice you have good memories of her. X

Thank you for sharing the story of your sister, Linda. This was so sad, and made me think about the traumas and struggles in peoples' lives, including my own family XX
You’re right Linda, you just don’t know what to do to help someone with an alcohol or drug addiction. In my experience’s you can talk to them and advise them until you’re blue in the face, but at the end of the day, if they don’t want to stop, then they won’t! It’s heartbreaking watching loved ones destroying their lives like this. But until they have hit rock bottom they just don’t want to listen or do anything about it. Even after that, a lot go back to their old ways. Thank you so much for sharing your sister’s story with us. You were both beautiful children and adults. Lovely photo’s. My heart goes out to you 😘🩷xx
Thank you for sharing your sisters story Linda, what an eventful life she had, it was so lovely to hear you were so close as you got older and that you had each other. ❤️x

This reminds me of my brother’s stepson , who I remember being such a lovely lad.Sadly, in spite of lots of love and support from his family and friends , the drink and drugs caught up with him at only 40 yrs old, when his heart gave up. Another wasted life 😢😢

Bravely told Linda. I can feel your love for your sister. This was a difficult and sad story to tell, but you really did it justice and your sister credit. . She deserved to have her story told and I hope she'd be so proud to know that you took the trouble to tell it. And although it is a difficult life story, you clearly had your happy memories too. Hi Linda. Wow! What a life your sister had. It was nice to hear she had love and some stability later on in life. I'm sure she is so proud of you. I also, say died, and it irritates me when people say they have lost someone....no you haven't lost them, that Implies they could be found!!. Thankyou for sharing that Linda, must have been a difficult one for you. Hard to see you getting choked up, I wanted to give you a hug. Your sister sounded a lovely human being bless her heart xx
Trying to cut a long story short, my late brother (who was 16 years older than me), was a heroin addict. He eventually had two major strokes which disabled him completely. At one point he asked me to leave his pain medication within his reach so he could end it all and we had pretty much the same conversation you had with your sister. My brother meant the world to me and his life ended after a series of small strokes over the course of a fortnight then a final massive one. I miss him every day. There are so many stories to be told, so many memories. When you cried I wanted to reach through the screen, take your hand and cry with you. No words, because there are none. Just hold hands and cry together.
Awwww Linda what a lovely story teller I'm sure if your sister is listening she will be so proud of you. I wanted to jump into the screen and give you such a hug 🫂when your emotions got the best of you bless you Linda it's very understandable, no need to apologise my lovely 🫂I very much related to parents those days not doing the hugging thing, mine were the same, never had a hug from mine either and I always wonder why. My mother also had pleurisy and double pneumonia and died at an early age of 52 when I was 17. Thank you for sharing Linda life can be bitter sweet sometimes very sad but happy memories too ♥
Hi Linda, Thank you so much for sharing your sister's story, and the struggles she obviously endured. My relative had a different addiction and she also died in 2002, and there isn't a day goes by that I don't think of her, and whether you believe or not I feel she is with me... especially if I think of doing something silly, like climb on a chair to get something out of reach, instead of getting the step ladder... I hear her say "don't be daft, get the step ladder" 😄 I would have loved to have seen her one last time, but it wasn't to be. They say time is a great healer, but it isn't... you just learn to live with it, because life goes on, and I'm sure they wouldn't want us to be miserable... I'm a great believer in talking and writing things down, so I hope this viseo has helped you, it has certainly helped me... big hugs to you ❤ xx
Hi Mary. I certainly feel she is with me, not in a spooky way, but I get it when you say about the 'step ladder situation'. I used to ring her house phone to hear her voice on the answer machine, but her bloke soon changed the message. Thanks so much for your message x
Oh Linda what fab memories of your sister and I can tell how much she was loved by you. My dad is 1 of 9 and his dad was an alcoholic and as such most of his siblings have had issues with alcohol and he's lost 2 brothers to it so I know only too well the affects it has on families. Wow Linda that must have been hard for you to tell us your sisters story. So sad and tragic but with lots of love and laughter between I hope. Hello Linda, how compassionately you voiced your sister Lesley's life struggles and 'demons' . It was clear how, at times, throughout when you were talking , that your emotions were close to the surface. It is strange , perhaps we don't realise how poignant and upsetting , the struggles that a loved one has endured , until one day , when we speak it out loud , the gravity of all that they went through , hits us. So sorry for your loss .You have been and continue to be a loving supportive sister , by all that you did and how tenderly you spoke of her and her life experiences. My Mother, was born into a very dysfunctional turbulent , family and all the children 'suffered ' in one way or another as children and in their adult lives. Mum's half sister , suffered with an alcohol addiction also. Terrible disease. You were so brave to share her story . Thank you so much x Janette
@@LindaTee70 No, thank you Linda. You honoured your sister and the care and love you shared , through a difficult life journey. Always interesting to listen to your videos , you give such a variety for all of us that follow you! See you next time. Have a good weekend x Janette
Thankyou for sharing your sister’s story it’s so sad what people go through ❤ l lost my brother to suicide 😢 I still like you get upset even now, take care Linda sending love to you xx
Such a sad but interesting life story. Its lovely to hear you talking about her in such a loving way. I love the " funny " reminiscences with you remembering her so fondly x From one Linda to another - my sister is called Lesley too. Our story is so different in many ways, but there is still love there - on my part at least. My Lesley hasnt spoken to me since 2yrs after I had bowel cancer & 2 yrs after my Dad died. (Yes this happened within days of each other) Her son was 33 & he died from the same cancer as I had survived. I get a cursory happy birthday/anniversary/ christmas text from he but that is all. Ive tried but keep getting put down, just like you tried to help your sister. Why are our lives so contorted this way? We must be so strong to keep going back & going on. Sending love to you - keep on keeping on. Never mind the tears, they are healing bit by bit xx😢
Oh, Linda, I'm so sorry for all the very sad things you have going on. The sister relationship - especially if there were only the two of you - is a unique one and I feel lucky that, as adults, we had lots of laughs together and she was very stoic about dying so we could talk about it together. I'm still sad, but very lucky to have had her x I hope things mend for you xx
Hi linda what a great story about your sistet i have a sister 6 yrs older than me our mum lost a babt before my sister was born she was difficult a rebel still is i was quiet goody two shoes so didn't get on when younger she got depression when older i seemed to look after her then shes better now we live near each other now so get on better now we wre older funny it goes like that
Hi Linda, thankyou for sharing a difficult time. I lost my brother who was 49 in 2020 who was an alcoholic, and also suffered from bipolar. He was a difficult person from an early age.
Thank you for sharing ❤ Some people's true lives are more interesting than fictional stories. You mentioning about different accents from the same family - that's like my family. My eldest brother has a nice neutral speaking voice and yet the rest of us sound cockney. In my current household, my husband is from Yorkshire with a northern accent, I'm a Londoner with a cockney accent and my son (born and raised in mid-Kent) has a lovely speaking voice (neutral, but a few people say he sounds posh 😉). Take care 😘
Thank you Angela. Yes, the accent thing is odd. One of my granddaughters speaks completely different to her parents and sister. Weird. Good to hear from you x
Oh Linda! How did you get through that. I admire you for staying so strong. A good life just blighted by booze, happens to so many. Photos are a blessing, to remind you of loved ones and you were both a pair of lookers too. Thank you for sharing something so personal. ❤❤❤
Yes I remember spitting in the black eyeliner it came with a little brush. My brother in law went through a similar story and drink turned into drugs it was hell trying to help him but he was such a lovely man, died about 20 years ago after being beaten up by two young lads who didn’t like a drinker!! Very sad. And I feel your pain I know how it feels to live through the sadness of it all, even speaking up for him in court being frightened after he came home drunk and our son asleep in the other room. That took some guts to tell your story online, I do hope you’re ok after this video Lynne. X😊❤
@@carolschobs2621 Thank you Carol. I've heard many stories from my lovely audience over the last couple of days and many are far more heartbreaking than Lesley's story, like yours. But the common thread is a life wasted, isn't it?. Lots of love x
Hello Julia. I think dealing with a child with addiction problems must be even worse, but I suspect the helplessness is the same. Thinking of you and thank you for writing x
Morning Linda,no this must of been so hard of you to tell this story of your sister it showed the love you had for your sister and no it was so sad to hear you talk about her, i really don't no why some people have addicted personality but it doesn't stop them been good people i could hear in your voice the love you had for her really good to lision too ❤
Hi Linda Thank you for this vlog. I can understand why the hospital kept your mother in hospital in for a while as they may have suspected Tuberculosis as they did then going back in the day Your sister to me was insecure as a child not having the attention of your mum and I don’t think that they bonded very much.. This story is so heartbreaking for her as I think she had been let down so many times that she thought that life wouldn’t be worth living for. She had depression I think for her to contemplate suicide as it has to be something that triggers this as I have seen so many people in drug and alcohol unit with this. It was basically a 1:1 interaction with them . This is why you needed to keep a close eye on them. Some of the people had no family so we were their family . Hard job but rewarding but when you have family it’s a totally different ball game and I know it’s years since she passed but am so sorry for your loss Will see you in the next one Linda xx
Very sad story Linda and I’m sure you felt helpless sometimes. I can’t relate to a lot of what you said my cousin was an Alcoholic. She used to really like Brandy but drank Vodka as not much smell like you said , she’d drink that thinking we all thought it was a soft drink. I remember once we went on holiday together a few days before she’d been on a real bender . Everyone thought we should cancel but I said no she’s promised me she’ll be good. One night at the pool bar this guy says to me are you 2 lesbians , as you never take your eyes off her. I said no actually we are cousins and she’s an alcoholic when I buy the drinks she has a lime and soda but when it’s her turn she gets them to put Vodka in it. He just looked at me so I said she had Vodka in the drink you bought her so he nodded. I said a word of warning , last week she said a taxi driver tried it on with her got very messy, so I’d be careful as the Spanish police are totally different than back home. Needless to say he never offered to buy her a drink again. Very sad she died 6 weeks after her 60th birthday that was 11years ago. Xx
Hello Linda , not been at all well so forgive the lack of comments . Just to say my sister was 38 when she died of cirrhosis and Pneumonia caused by her chronic alcohol addiction . I miss her every single day , and her story is the main reason I do not drink . I’m so sorry about your sister , sometimes our love and concern is just not enough . Bless you Linda 💐
@@suesmith3744 Thanks for taking the time to comment, Sue and I hope you start to feel better very soon. It sounds like we share the same sadness which never goes away x
Hi Linda, Thank you so much for sharing your story of your sister it was very nice of you. I'm sorry to see you so upset. 😢 I think that your sister would have been very happy that you still think and talk of her and obviously love her very much. Life does sometimes come to try us. I, too, have had sad life but in a different way. I sometimes sit and wonder how I've actually got through it all and came out the other end. Lovely photos of both of you together. You looked like great friends as well as great sisters. Have a nice weekend. X❤
@@LindaTee70. Thank you Linda , very true , my sister was a depressive like me and our mother ( we have different fathers ) and my sisters dad and grandad both liked a drink . I medicate with food , she medicated with alcohol, and it didn’t help that she was in a long term relationship with a drinker . There was violence on both sides and they were drunk much of the time . I lived over two hundred miles away at the time and was poorly myself so there really wasn’t much I could do in a practical sense , I begged her to get help and we had many late night emotional talks over the phone . I remember the day she died as if it were yesterday , it broke my heart , I just thank God there were no children involved …. 💐

I very much appreciate this, Janette, thank you x
@@LindaTee70 No, thank you Linda. You honoured your sister and the care and love you shared , through a difficult life journey. Always interesting to listen to your videos , you give such a variety for all of us that follow you! See you next time. Have a good weekend x Janette

Thankyou for sharing your sister's story
Such a sad but interesting life story. Its lovely to hear you talking about her in such a loving way. I love the " funny " reminiscences with you remembering her so fondly x
From one Linda to another - my sister is called Lesley too.
I'm still sad, but very lucky to have had her x
I hope things mend for you xx

Hi Linda, thankyou for sharing a difficult time. I lost my brother who was 49 in 2020 who was an alcoholic, and also suffered from bipolar. He was a difficult person from an early age.
Oh, Julie, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Thank you for the kind comment x
Thank you Linda for sharing. So sad. X

Oh, Joan, I can't begin to imagine how painful this is for you and your loved ones. Sending love X

Thank you Carol.
I've heard many stories from my lovely audience over the last couple of days and many are far more heartbreaking than Lesley's story, like yours.
But the common thread is a life wasted, isn't it?.
Lots of love x
That was so very sad Linda ..it's all around us now isn't it .I am going through it with my son .he is 57 ..no light at the end of the tunnel ...❤❤❤

Hard job but rewarding but when you have family it’s a totally different ball game and I know it’s years since she passed but am so sorry for your loss
Will see you in the next one Linda xx
Thank you Rhian. I don't think there was much help or sympathy for depressive people back then and I agree, she must have suffered with depression x
Xx
A lot of this sounds familiar, Wendy. So sorry for your family and thank you x
