Rather than the typical U Tuber of Women of our Age, I find your Vids more interesting than most. You have relatable conversation, interesting and a cracking sense of humour. I’m finding that some U Tubers on here have let it all go to their heads. A few, in my view, have changed their Personalities somewhat. It’s laughable really. They are ordering hundreds of pounds worth of Clothes and prancing around their Living Rooms with Faces Full of Makeup. They started off coming across as very nice relatable Older Ladies and have morphed into, well something else. Keep doing what your doing.
I think you mean Divas! You're right all they can think of is if they've been gifted this or that, or it's sponsored by Temu... or somebody else. They just want you to spend your hard earned money IMO.

Re charities, i don't give money as the ceo gets most of it but i do donate goods to the shops. Last year i got rid of a lot of Christmas things too x.

Hi Linda I totally agree with you about some charities, I give to Salvation Army each Christmas which I pay for two people to have a bed for the night and a Christmas Dinner. Doesn't cost me much . I feel exactly the same about the donation thing. Nowadays when they stand outside a shops, they expect you to pay by machine or sign up, then if you ask if they have a pot that you can put change in they say no. So I say sorry not this time. When I was younger I didn’t worry about age but now I’m pension age, I worry about it all the time.

Hi Linda, Isn't it a great feeling when you get an overdue chore accomplished? I felt really virtuous after de-moulding the bathroom tiles this morning, as if I should be awarded a gold star. I don't think it's going to net me an MBE but I feel I deserve one for all the dedicated years of service I've given to meaningless household jobs. Amazing that you have a toy-boy husband too. I knew yours was a little younger than you, but not by how much. Well I can cap you! My 'current' is 18 years younger than me, and I'm not bragging as it's quite exhausting trying to pretend I'm a 50something like he is. But bless him he doesn't mind my being ancient at all. Aint love grand? I agree that UA-cam is a crowded market these days and often I can't see any rhyme or reason why some channels streak off and other equally good ones just can't get a foothold. I think you are doing great and shouldn't worry too much. You are doing it for enjoyment, so just do what you do. If you are there.... they will come! Sometimes it just take a little longer. Carry on doing what you are doing so well. I really like your candle lantern thingy so I hope you find a candle you like. I didn't like how yellow the light was. it needs something whiter and brighter, I think. I'll happily and readily give a cash donation at Christmas, and especially charities like the Salvation Army, but I am absolutely against donating by card, as it leads to massive amounts of requests. I absolutely would not sign up to anything at the door either. But I don't like signing up in the street either. Giving now seems much more calculated. I only give what I can afford. Give me those lovely people in Sally Bash uniforms collecting with tins while the band plays. I know, I know it doesn't net as much money but it's kinder and more human. I agree with the doorstep callers and in this day and age it is not wise to give out our details to anyone!! Also hate the false friendliness and my face shows that too ! One of the things I love to do is decorating {as in painting etc} and my family say "what are you doing now"?? I say well I will do it ( while I can at 71 )and the end result gives me so much pleasure so why not? Just almost finished my spare room ...lol

I've never had charities knock on my door but whenever I go into town there is always someone trying to sign me up for so much a month. I'll give to charity but I won't donate by direct debit ❤

She gets lots of walks by other household members. I am definitely an evening person not morning. Hi Judith! The dog walking thing started in 2020 when I had hip replacement surgery. Current Husband works (and worked all through lockdown) and I had no-one to take them on their late morning walk. As I was going to be on on crutches for 6 weeks, I looked for and found a lovely lady to walk them Mon-Fri. It was £100 a week, so I was always going to stop using her when I could do it again myself, but I thought it was good for them to have doggy friends, so I kept her on one day a week! I'm not a fan of GRWM either! See you next week x
Hi Linda, It's a funny thing... age. I am very fortunate that at nearly 73 I am on no medication, only supplements. I do have arthritis as I'm sure most people have at that age. I don't feel old, I'm still young at heart... hopefully, and can remember how I felt as a teenager, a young mother and all those problems that were associated with that time. Sometimes I think that if we see ourselves as others see us, I'm sure we wouldn't step out of the house! I can look in the mirror and think I look OK... I don't look bad for my age, other times it's like I'm staring back at my mother. At the end of the day, if you have your health and all your faculties.... you're doing OK 😊

I was in my local Aldi when someone asked me to donate , I went to get change from my purse and they said , oh no would you mind sighting up to a direct debit ,I said I’d rather not, they lost out on a donation which I think is a shame. Also like yourself I’m an over thinker and a people pleaser , I just can’t help it🙈. Keep the videos coming they are very enjoyable and not at all boring 👍x

Hi Linda, when you spoke about donating to charities I recalled the little books we used to bring home from school for our parents to tear out the child’s picture we liked to look of and put cash into the paper packet…… they were called Sunny Smiles do you remember these? It has stayed with me for all of these years …perhaps that’s why these companies do this, but I am of your opinion that I give only to my personal choices one being The Salvation Army the other I choose as and when. Oh I’m always saying sorry I’m very guilty of this. I took instagram off of my phone I’m not being pulled into this along with other ones. I like your videos please don’t think you’re boring. I have stopped buying things i don' t need. I always over think things and am always beating myself up over things, i get on my own nerves. I am 71 and very often trip and fall as i have foot drop from a stroke i had over 50 years ago. I used to love walking as it makes one feel alive x.

Pre lit xmas tree 🎄 is a great idea. No more struggling to get the lights on only to find they look lop sided etc; lol ! Never had anyone want me to sign up for charity donations at the door I would think they weren't honest. Didn't think it was allowed anymore hence the suspicion 🤔 I guess it would be nice to be more laid back the older I get but I'm not bothered 😂 never fazed by age numbers either as long as I can still be active and not in pain then jobs a goodun 😅 like your lantern thing btw. Hi Linda I don’t get any callers for cold calling about charities as someone from my housing association takes them for me which l helps me out greatly. I can please myself what time I go to bed etc and wake up. Sometimes I find difficulty sleeping and getting comfortable due to pain etc. My cousin does not realise what this is I have as I told her I would swap with her willingly lol. The trouble with donating money is that you are paying the CEO and not the cause. You can donate in other ways. Someone I know who is elderly like us all and she was doatiing to the dogs home and someone rang up after this person had passed away and was asking the son if they wanted to Increase the amount that they gave. I think he told them in no uncertain terms what to do with the charity as that is cheeky. Anyway have a nice weekend and see you in the next one x

I still work (I'm an oldie 73) p/t for a charity and do realise how important donations are but I don't think doorstep calls are right. There's loads of people who really enjoy what you share/talk about. Me included. We are all the same Linda. Could l suggest more cooking videos and baking. Bulk cooking, compare supermarket prices. Taste test Linda. For example extra strong chedder compared to another , different brands. Hope you don't mind me suggesting..😊

We have NO cold callers knocking round here. Our County Council have put out a "Door safety" sticker (prob for older people) to stick on the window/door. Ideas for safety are visible inside BUT on the outside it stipulates No Cold Callers/No doorstep sales!! Linda its you thsts booking stuff into your day. Just do NOT book stuff to make you run around. So yes you can stop rushing around!!! I have!!!
I agree about the charities knocking on the door very invasive. I just say I have my own charities that I donate to. My son passed away from systemic Lupus erythmatosis eleven years ago so I donate to Hobbs Lupus charity and to our local cancer charity. I look forward to your videos. X

I’m definitely a night owl I hate early mornings. I think most people don’t like cold callers to their door I’m always polite but a firm no thanks. Never give to go fund me either as they take a huge admiration fee. A few years ago we decided to stop sending loads of Christmas cards instead we sponsor a Guide dog we are on our 3rd and also do The North West Air Ambulance. Hi Linda (again!) I just wanted to add my comment about "charities"... I agree with everything you say, you shouldn't be intimidated by anyone on your doorstep. But what I don't like is, the sad advertisements which show homeless people, neglected pets/animals/children and other sad things that are going on in the world. I've often wondered instead of showing those images, why don't they show the good that they are achieving by receiving our donations? Or am I the only one that thinks that? I hate being bombarded by all the misery that's going on in the world. I choose to give to the charities I want to, which mean something to me... sorry for going on, but you definitely hit a nerve with your experience of people knocking on your door and asking you to sign your life away for a £5 a month... cheek of it!'
Far too many YTers doing "hauls in my haul" videos. Ive stopped watching them as we keep see the same old clothes on fat /thin/tall/short bodies. Especially M & S who keep sending out their new collections. They dont really want your opinion on the best dress/colour/fit etc I've never worried about my age. I do not give to charity per se. We buy a monthly lottery ticket supporting the Air ambulance & RBL Heroes/poppies. Your tree lights are lEd & theres no issues with them as you cannot change them- if too many go out just ditch it in the bon

Hi Linda, Isn't it a great feeling when you get an overdue chore accomplished? I felt really virtuous after de-moulding the bathroom tiles this morning, as if I should be awarded a gold star. I don't think it's going to net me an MBE but I feel I deserve one for all the dedicated years of service I've given to meaningless household jobs. Amazing that you have a toy-boy husband too. I knew yours was a little younger than you, but not by how much. Well I can cap you! My 'current' is 18 years younger than me, and I'm not bragging as it's quite exhausting trying to pretend I'm a 50something like he is. But bless him he doesn't mind my being ancient at all. Aint love grand? I agree that UA-cam is a crowded market these days and often I can't see any rhyme or reason why some channels streak off and other equally good ones just can't get a foothold. I think you are doing great and shouldn't worry too much. You are doing it for enjoyment, so just do what you do. If you are there.... they will come! Sometimes it just take a little longer. Carry on doing what you are doing so well. I really like your candle lantern thingy so I hope you find a candle you like. I didn't like how yellow the light was. it needs something whiter and brighter, I think. I'll happily and readily give a cash donation at Christmas, and especially charities like the Salvation Army, but I am absolutely against donating by card, as it leads to massive amounts of requests. I absolutely would not sign up to anything at the door either. But I don't like signing up in the street either. Giving now seems much more calculated. I only give what I can afford. Give me those lovely people in Sally Bash uniforms collecting with tins while the band plays. I know, I know it doesn't net as much money but it's kinder and more human. Here we go, another book written so I won't comment on the 'things to give up'. I'd love to... I have an opinion.... Of course I do.... 🤣 But I won't! One of the things I love to do is decorating {as in painting etc} and my family say "what are you doing now"??

You do make me laugh Linda, you say things i feel. I’m 77 and feel very lucky to be here and don’t have to take pills but it’s funny when you meet friends and instead of talking about our kids etc we talk about medications and their alarms go of on their phones cause it’s time to take their pills xx

I've never had charities knock on my door but whenever I go into town there is always someone trying to sign me up for so much a month. I'll give to charity but I won't donate by direct debit ❤
I quite agree Cindy, they'll only pester you to increase your amount and I know I can't always afford to do that x

I bet that lady who's stopped doing everything sends them away with a right flea in the ear😂 I just say, sorry I've chosen my charities to donate to thank you very much, which is true. She gets lots of walks by other household members. I am definitely an evening person not morning. Schedule of feeding know that one 😂 Just saying don’t bother with a get ready with me as I just wind them forward. I don’t like my own face in a morning so no appetite to view other people’s haha. Re the Christmas thing I m not that in to it but enjoying your prep vicariously. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

The dog walking thing started in 2020 when I had hip replacement surgery. Current Husband works (and worked all through lockdown) and I had no-one to take them on their late morning walk.
As I was going to be on on crutches for 6 weeks, I looked for and found a lovely lady to walk them Mon-Fri. It was £100 a week, so I was always going to stop using her when I could do it again myself, but I thought it was good for them to have doggy friends, so I kept her on one day a week!
I'm not a fan of GRWM either! See you next week x

It's a funny thing... age. I am very fortunate that at nearly 73 I am on no medication, only supplements. I do have arthritis as I'm sure most people have at that age. I don't feel old, I'm still young at heart... hopefully, and can remember how I felt as a teenager, a young mother and all those problems that were associated with that time. Sometimes I think that if we see ourselves as others see us, I'm sure we wouldn't step out of the house! I can look in the mirror and think I look OK... I don't look bad for my age, other times it's like I'm staring back at my mother. At the end of the day, if you have your health and all your faculties.... you're doing OK 😊

Hi Linda, I agree with the charity thing . I was in my local Aldi when someone asked me to donate , I went to get change from my purse and they said , oh no would you mind sighting up to a direct debit ,I said I’d rather not, they lost out on a donation which I think is a shame.
Also like yourself I’m an over thinker and a people pleaser , I just can’t help it🙈. Keep the videos coming they are very enjoyable and not at all boring 👍x

Hi Linda, when you spoke about donating to charities I recalled the little books we used to bring home from school for our parents to tear out the child’s picture we liked to look of and put cash into the paper packet…… they were called Sunny Smiles do you remember these? It has stayed with me for all of these years …perhaps that’s why these companies do this, but I am of your opinion that I give only to my personal choices one being The Salvation Army the other I choose as and when.

I have stopped buying things i don' t need. I always over think things and am always beating myself up over things, i get on my own nerves. I am 71 and very often trip and fall as i have foot drop from a stroke i had over 50 years ago. I used to love walking as it makes one feel alive x.
I feel the same` Valerie - I get on my own nerves on a regular basis! You're right about walking - I don't go far, but it clears your head and gives a sense of the seasons, which I love.

Pre lit xmas tree 🎄 is a great idea. No more struggling to get the lights on only to find they look lop sided etc; lol ! Never had anyone want me to sign up for charity donations at the door I would think they weren't honest. Didn't think it was allowed anymore hence the suspicion 🤔 I guess it would be nice to be more laid back the older I get but I'm not bothered 😂 never fazed by age numbers either as long as I can still be active and not in pain then jobs a goodun 😅 like your lantern thing btw. Have decluttered loads too but it seems buying more tat is inevitable for me 🤭 take care have a nice weekend and kisses for doggies 🐕 getting one soon we hope. I don’t get any callers for cold calling about charities as someone from my housing association takes them for me which l helps me out greatly. I can please myself what time I go to bed etc and wake up. Sometimes I find difficulty sleeping and getting comfortable due to pain etc. My cousin does not realise what this is I have as I told her I would swap with her willingly lol.
The trouble with donating money is that you are paying the CEO and not the cause. You can donate in other ways. Someone I know who is elderly like us all and she was doatiing to the dogs home and someone rang up after this person had passed away and was asking the son if they wanted to
Increase the amount that they gave. I think he told them in no uncertain terms what to do with the charity as that is cheeky.

Yes I agree with you re charity knocking on your door...I probably wouldn't be as polite as you Linda. I still work (I'm an oldie 73) p/t for a charity and do realise how important donations are but I don't think doorstep calls are right.

There's loads of people who really enjoy what you share/talk about. Me included. We are all the same Linda. Could l suggest more cooking videos and baking. Bulk cooking, compare supermarket prices. Taste test Linda. For example extra strong chedder compared to another , different brands. Hope you don't mind me suggesting..😊

We have NO cold callers knocking round here. Our County Council have put out a "Door safety" sticker (prob for older people) to stick on the window/door. Ideas for safety are visible inside BUT on the outside it stipulates No Cold Callers/No doorstep sales!!

I agree about the charities knocking on the door very invasive. I just say I have my own charities that I donate to. My son passed away from systemic Lupus erythmatosis eleven years ago so I donate to Hobbs Lupus charity and to our local cancer charity. I look forward to your videos. X

I’m definitely a night owl I hate early mornings. I think most people don’t like cold callers to their door I’m always polite but a firm no thanks. Never give to go fund me either as they take a huge admiration fee. A few years ago we decided to stop sending loads of Christmas cards instead we sponsor a Guide dog we are on our 3rd and also do The North West Air Ambulance. Honestly Linda you are never boring far from it you always manage to make me laugh Wendy x

I just wanted to add my comment about "charities"... I agree with everything you say, you shouldn't be intimidated by anyone on your doorstep. But what I don't like is, the sad advertisements which show homeless people, neglected pets/animals/children and other sad things that are going on in the world. I've often wondered instead of showing those images, why don't they show the good that they are achieving by receiving our donations? Or am I the only one that thinks that? I hate being bombarded by all the misery that's going on in the world. I choose to give to the charities I want to, which mean something to me... sorry for going on, but you definitely hit a nerve with your experience of people knocking on your door and asking you to sign your life away for a £5 a month... cheek of it!'

Far too many YTers doing "hauls in my haul" videos. Ive stopped watching them as we keep see the same old clothes on fat /thin/tall/short bodies. Especially M & S who keep sending out their new collections. They dont really want your opinion on the best dress/colour/fit etc
I've never worried about my age.
I do not give to charity per se. We buy a monthly lottery ticket supporting the Air ambulance & RBL Heroes/poppies.
Your tree lights are lEd & theres no issues with them as you cannot change them- if too many go out just ditch it in the bon
