- "Having travelled world over performing and conducting workshops for youngsters and others aspiring to excel in music, I was so impressed by the talent that lay within each of them. I was convinced that there must be a better platform for them to showcase their music and thus was born the idea of ‘Spotlight’! To put a spotlight on their talents and present them to the world.
The golden period of music distribution was when we had cassettes, double albums and video discs released. But as technology has progressed and widened the reach in such a simplified manner, physical releases seem to have got redundant.
Social media has the most widespread reach and the ability to multiply its viewers with ease. Hence this mode of presenting talent from Sudhaarnava Academy." - Sudha Ragunathan
The second episode in the Spotlight Series features the Shri Sisters Madhuvanthi Vijayaganesh & Sumedha Vijayaganesh who are students of Carnatic music and Violin.
The first Guru for both the sisters was their father Shri Madurai M Vijayaganesh.
Madhuvanthi is under the tutelage of both her father & Smt Kalpalathika Ravishankar. Sumedha is under the tutelage of both her father & Smt Bhavya Hari. Both are undergoing advanced training under Sangita Kala Acharya Smt Suguna Varadachari through Shrutilahari Master classes of Sunaadalahari. They are also undergoing Advanced Vocal Training from Padma Bhushan awardee Smt Sudha Ragunathan through Sudhaarnava Academy
The sisters are aspiring Carnatic musicians completely committed to the learning of music and also gradually performing thro encouraging music platforms. They have participated in many competitions and won prizes, including the Shravya contest by Sudhaarnava Academy.
Some of their performanceas are:
1. Mahaperiyava's "Twin Language Rendition" of popular songs (viz., Sant Meera's pag ghungroo, Sant Tukaram's bOlavA vittala pAhavA vittala, Shri Shri Mahaperiyava's Maitreem Bhajata) to spread the value and beauty of the lyrics and music

This channel belongs to one of the brightest stars of Carnatic music in India, Sudha Ragunathan. Her distinctly stunning vocal style has ignited musical imagination and spirit across languages, frontiers and ideologies. Among the first in her generation to receive many prestigious awards including the Padma Bhushan and the Sangita Kalanidhi, her mastery over vocal techniques and complicated styles makes her one of the most sought after artists. Her authentic renditions of ‘kritis’ and refined elaborations of ‘raagas’, the élan with which she breezes through the ‘kalpana swaras’, her command over the octaves and her supremely confident stage presence combined with unstated humility has given her an enviable pre-eminence in the world of carnatic music. Sudha has performed a range of concerts and festivals worldwide, and has released over 200 albums with leading recording companies. Sudha Ragunathan is the only Carnatic musician, second to Barat Ratna Dr. MS Subbulakshmi, to have sung at the United Nations.
