it almost seems counter-intuitive where business's that don't make money are bound to fail, but it's true that you have to add passion/soul into it. it might not be as tangible as talking about profit-loss and performance and efficiencies but it's important

I think he's leaving a lot out though. I mean, I'm actually gaining a lot of clarity by making a business plan. And it's stimulating a lot of new ideas too.

Yes it does help with ideas but I think his point is don't get too caught up on the business plan instead of just starting and making mistakes and you're more like to get an investor that way

I think he agrees with you 3:45. The key seems to be that while it might be a good exercise its a horrible communication tool, at least when looking for angel investors. I live in China where the investors seem to have the attitude he speaks of.

@@JungleEd17 Totally! Chinese investors don't care about numbers, it's more about being a rock star person, that's what they're buying! I'm in China too, my friend! )

@@Raccoonov Any advice on how to achieve the "rock star" persona? I was thinking recording videos would help. I can't hold my liquor and don't join in other sorts of night time activities, hopefully this doesn't exclude me.

Great speech! The are lots of essential details that are not and cannot be reflected in a business plan. Business plans professional writers may hide or misprsent a lot of essential information.

Hey sound person, turn the bloody gain/trim knob down on the mixing desk, it's the one usually found at the top of the mic channel.
