In this video, I'm opening up about the transformative journey of becoming a mom of two. It's a candid discussion on how motherhood has reshaped my view of myself, especially in my crucial first few years. They say "motherhood changes you" and boy, are they RIGHT. I'm personally SHOCKED by personal transformation after becoming a mother to two littles. Motherhood changes your sense of self, but I had no idea it was to this degree!
Here's a sneak peek of what's in the video! One positive shift I've noticed is the emergence of my playful side. It's fun being around so much nostalgia, and getting tok re-live childhood memories. There's something magical about seeing the world through you own child's eyes. I've found joy in reliving those simple, carefree moments and embracing a more lighthearted approach to life.
On the flip side, being a parent is a reflective experience. Toddlers have this uncanny ability to mirror your habits, both good and bad. My therapist at BetterHelp has helped me see myself through a motivational lens, not a judgmental one, and it has helped me blossom into closer to the mom I want to be! Having someone I can talk to honestly has been pushing me to break negative patterns and grow as an individual. I've never been too good at being vulnerable.
Once again, head to betterhelp.com/mommingwithmig... for 10% off your first month.
With tools from my therapist, I've been navigating this process, learning to self-regulate, and striving to become the mom I've always envisioned. I'm getting so good at putting other people first, but also maintaining personal boundaries. I know that there will continue to be evolution in my self-image as a mother!
If you've ever wondered about the profound changes that come with motherhood, or perhaps you're on a similar journey, I hope we can connect in the comments over the unique experiences that have shaped us as moms. It's a beautiful, messy, and rewarding journey.

Yes! We all have these little behaviors or reactions that fall under a pattern - but we are too close to be able to see it.

Too close. and once I saw it clearly, for a bit I was too hurt from going through what i went through as a child. It just hits SO personally.

I have an almost two year old and 4 month old. I really needed to l hear this today. You articulate the experience so well. Having a child really opens your eyes on how you react to situations and how if you want your child to behave, you also have to display good behavior. ❤

@MommingwithMigraine Yes, I fall short daily, but every day is a new chance to do better. Some days are harder than others, especially when you aren't feeling well.

Hi Jen, I just stumbled across your channel looking for service dogs who do what mine does. I was so surprised to find someone else with IIH. I've had it consistantly for 14 yrs now. I opted for no shunt & so take Diamox every three hours up to 4500 mg daily. Some days are worse than others.
It has been a long road as I know you can attest to. For about 10 yrs I had a website & Facebook for others w/IIH. I've spoken to many others around the world but it got to be a bit much keeping up. However, I do miss communicating w/others who live it daily. Just wanted to let you know that there are others of us out there & finding your channel brings comfort in knowing... none of us are alone in this.
