📌Hey April. So I learned this Home Decor tip awhile ago. Pay attention to the shapes in your room/space. Your bed, dresser, night stands, window/door frames and TV are ALL square edges/90degrees. In home decor they say that you should balance out your space with rounder objects. It balances and softens the space/room. So your lamps and clock are your only round objects (play with different shapes) The lamps help to balance out that section of your room by your bed. Now. The reason why you feel like the plant doesn’t fit in that corner is because it is also a square. You have too many sharp edges/90 degree angles going on over there. (stand by your door and look in that direction) An oval or round pot would balance and look great there. (Try “At Home” stores, if you have them by you). They have huge floor planters and vases that come in different textures. The brown compliments the room tho (but you can spray paint any color you want if you don’t find a brown one). Also, another home decor tip. To give your room a Grander effect/make a smaller room feel larger hang curtains higher above window frame (but of course you need to have longer curtains if you decided you wanted to try that look). Gives the illusion that you have higher ceilings because it pulls the eyes upwards. Happy Decorating🤎🤎🤎

Markeila Brooks That’s happened to me before. Got a stank reply when I was just telling her. “The wall above her bed need bigger wall art to fill that large space” She even shared she wasn’t sure about if the space needed more pieces.Smh. She came back at me so stank. So I was a lil nervous with April.😂I have to share my knowledge with my sistas tho. Sometimes it takes a fresh eye to open your eyes. Once I found out those 2 tips. Game changer.
Lady LaTre'viette Phantumhive You’re are so welcome. When she got the 2 huge Euro pillows from Target I said yassss😁. Notice how it immediately upgraded the bed and made it more luxe. Yes.“Higher End Hotels” And who wouldn’t want to permanently have the Hotel feel right in their home. Perfect🙂

Not trying to tell you what to do,but try the long gold pillow in the place of the long brown one. Over all I love love your bedroom.
Yes I was thinking the same thing. Incorporating the yellow in the room gives it a pop. I have a turquoise and grey theme room and I added yellow pillows for that “pop”

Would love to see those vintage chairs upholstered in a print to accent the beautiful blue headboard, but whatever you decide we know it’s gonna be fly!

@@Ashley_Brown85 google cabinent knob template or jig and there are tons of options. They make replacing/adding knobs much easier. Good luck.

Hello April and Everyone Watching/Reading! Just a slight suggestion, hang the tv, remove the stand the tv was sitting on and move the 6 drawer dresser in the place where the tv stand once sat. I believe you may find it creates a better flow. Just my 2 cents 😚 Your room is so airy and light, love it!
I agree. It’s a lot of large heavy items in that space. I think mounting the tv and placing the dresser under it would create more room and better flow. Especially if she’s going to put chairs in there too. They would probably look nice where the dresser currently is if she decides to put them in the room. I look forward to her videos every week ☺️

You should’ve installed the curtain rod near the ceiling to give the illusion of high ceiling walls. Ive done that all around my house it makes a huge difference in the feel of the space 💕
Your room is beautiful!😍 I would place the flower pot on a stand for more height. (it'll slim out the heavy, squished feeling in the corner) I love the white pillows, the two tan square ones but I think the contrasting gold looking one would be perfect!! Break up the repetition of square pillows and the neutral palette! I love your home!!❤❤❤

I changed my hangers as well and it really made my closet look more polished. I gave all my old plastic ones away for free this lady was happy to take them off my hands.
I love the color of that one lumbar pillow, that color looks great with that blue headboard

A little HomeGoods (and it’s subsidiary stores) tip: get the style number from the tag of something you like and ask customer service to see if other stores in the area have it on their floor.

That's so touching you keeping the chairs from your grandmother she know you love her she's smiling down watching you hold on to her chairs my grand mother past I have this crystal bowel set I only put it out during holidays that makes me fill she still here watching our family during the holidays I watch as much as possible when people pick it up I tell them to get food out the bowels they don't have to pick it up just scoop the food out . I’m excited to see how your fluid pour artwork turns out! I got into it about a year and a half ago after an awful breakup...it was so nice to have an outlet and it’s something that doesn’t have to be perfect or you don’t have to be super duper artistic to do!

Just a suggestion...those malm night stands and the dresser you got from ikea, you can purchase the glass top so that the wood would be protected/preserved...

Not sure if someone mentioned this but for the curtains with the stains and threading issues, maybe hang them on the other window. That way some (hopefully) of the threading problems will be behind the nightstand. Just a thought. Loving how it's all coming together!
Ever think of moving the dresser where your tv stand is and mount the tv like you said. Make it a little less busy in that corner. Not at all telling you what to do. Just an idea as i watch. And the clock maybe over your bed. Not sure if the size will work there. Loving it

Girl I’m watching this for the second time. I noticed you doing the same thing I use to do. Buying pillows and put them right on my bed or couch. Until one day I saw a person taking them and wiping there hands on them laying there faces on them. Now I pop them in the wash on a gentle cycle. Not to mess up the form of the pillow. But to just to get whatever may have been put or wipe on while it was sitting in the store. You just never know for sure.
2 things... 1. You can put empty toilet paper rolls in between the back side of the curtain grommets to give them a fuller effect.
2. This was just me but my dining room had gold accents so I had to search for curtains that had gold/bronze grommets especially since my rod was gold. But you have the silver mirror so the mixed metals would work.

April have thought about putting glass toppers on your bedroom furniture or thin plexiglass for protection.

You should use the seam ripper to remove those threads in the curtains it's better than tweezers cuz tweezers you'll pull the whole string and kind of it will kind of rip it open versus taking a thread out
I actually have the have the gold fruit rack from Target. I to started out with the same plan to do one room at a time. However, after trying to get shower rods for over a month due to covid. I just started buying stuff as seen it because it will be who knows how long before it will be back in stock. I just put it away until I make it to that room. My husband and I recently purchased/built our first home.
I can’t wait for next week to see how the painting turned out.
