I just watched this film. My friends make fun of me for watching old films. But I let my self be me and just sit back and watch them. It makes me realize of how the time of the past used to be, how real and genuine everything was. It’s a shame for what the world has become. I imagine if we brought the old souls back to life, they’d cry to die again. This film is an absolute masterpiece. The story, the power that it holds is incredible. Gone with the wind as like the air has no way of it, you just flow for where it takes you with it. That’s how this whole film for me.
Old films are really great! I love watching silent films, especially the few surviving films from the 19th century (1800’s). It’s a wonderful window to look into the past. I just wish the technology had been developed much sooner, so we could’ve seen films from even further back in time. 🥰
The fact that this film still holds up to this day even after released in theaters in 1939 shows how this movie is one of the greatest movies of all time.
My grandmother used to love this movie. She just died of covid-19 and I'm overseas, devastated and hoping she's in a better place... even though this movie's legacy has recently been questioned and I feel for all who feel slighted by what it represents, I can't help but feel like it will always keep me connected to her.....

It's a win-win for the industry as people will simply go get it on another platform, ie dvd bluray instead of digital. That tells more about the growth of inflation than anything else. If they rated the films by tickets sold most current or recent films in the top grossing list could be lower in the list.
@@starhunterterra9849 Plus, in 1939 a movie ticket was 5 or 10 CENTS,,,,it is now more than 100 times that! So the actual comparative gross of "Gone" is like $39 billion !!! By far the "most seen" film of all time.
I love this movie with all my heart. In this day and age when Hollywood is churning out CGI trash, this movie is a masterpiece and nothing will ever top it in terms of the craftsmanship, music, direction, storytelling, costumes & above all acting. Leigh & Gable were born to play the roles of Scarlett & Rhett.
This may have elements of the original 1939 trailer, but the first image we see references the centennial of the Civil War., That dates the trailer to the 1961 re-release.
It's definitely NOT an accurate depiction of slaves in the South. But that is also NOT what is at the heart of this film. It's about Scarlett and her relationships both familial and romantic. How SHE views her world during that turbulent, awful time in history. It's still my personal favorite film I've ever seen. It was brilliantly done and it still holds up today.
Scarlett O'Hara is a strong, resourceful, cunning woman who stops at nothing to go after what she wants and values. She would probably read "Leaning In" as a young woman in today's world. As for not being politically correct, the film doesn't really echo the racism that was so prevalent during the Civil War or even later when the movie came out. Hattie McDaniel was quite sassy as Mammy, telling Scarlett that her behavior wasn't fitting while she was not treated all that well in real life decades later when she won the Oscar and wasn't even allowed at the film's premiere. I think we should watch historical movies for what they are, interpretations of a time in history that we can never experience ourselves. Even if the time period had its flaws (just as ours does today), we can enjoy this film for the entertainment it provides. We should definitely not ban it just because it doesn't fit a certain political viewpoint.
Undoubtedly one of the greatest movie ever made in Hollywood.Great starcast, direction, photography n composition.Olivia De Havviland n Hattie McDonald acted pat excellance against Clarke Gable n Vivian Leigh.Above All Margaret Mitchell novel.👍👍👍👌

Girl this came out 82 years ago 😒...but it is a really good movie though. 😍
@@DisneyGirl23 na bruh I thought it was scheduled to be released 2030

The estimated gross after inflation is $3,700,000,000.00, as the biggest inflated price in theatrical movie history.
Stephen Chase 6
This may have elements of the original 1939 trailer, but the first image we see references the centennial of the Civil War.,
That dates the trailer to the 1961 re-release.
The fact that Clark Gable did not win the Academy Award for Best Actor: JOKE.
The GREATEST film ever made, hands down!
Still, the highest grossing film, adjusted for inflation, in the history of cinema.
Leo, Brad and Margaret brought me here.
Oops, I meant Margorot* but from the 4 likes I got I think you guys knew what I meant ☺
You won't believe...I came here for the same reason 😅
Derya Yilmaz Margot*
Derya Yilmaz what?
Nice interview
Me tooo
Very good classic movie 🍿
It's definitely NOT an accurate depiction of slaves in the South. But that is also NOT what is at the heart of this film. It's about Scarlett and her relationships both familial and romantic. How SHE views her world during that turbulent, awful time in history. It's still my personal favorite film I've ever seen. It was brilliantly done and it still holds up today.
Seriously highest grossing film and six comments
US GH 😆😆😆😆😆😆 i was thinking the same 😆😆😆😆😆
US GH My thoughts exactly.
They need to watch more old movie
The best Movie ever made !!!
i was 8 years old when i watched "Gone With the Wind"
How old are you now mam?
Me too
R.I.Peace Olivia de Havilland! 💔
This movie is way more clear than 1990’s Bollywood movies.
Agreed with respect
She has lived a great life ❤
Scarlett O'Hara is a strong, resourceful, cunning woman who stops at nothing to go after what she wants and values.
The greatest movie ever made.
Possibly.
@@LukeLovesRose no it is, 10 academy awards, in today's money it made 3.4 billion dollars.
@@frankcastle9691 3.4 billion dollars, adjusted after many re-releases. And Titanic won 11 Oscars plus earned 2.2 billion after only 1 re-release. And Titanic is the greatest movie I've ever seen

UA-cam has rearranged all the comments so that we wont see that everyone is mad about this take down. I am black and I'm against this take down
Im full white and i want it taken down
jasin biggs / We’ll, it isn’t going to be taken down. I watched it last week and it was as enjoyable as the first two times I watched it.
Yeah it’s a pretty boring movie but it doesn’t deserve to be taken down.
I'm also black, and I'm outraged about crazy PCs who want to knock down this movie.
@@NotHarpoGroucho cause you were probably born in a different generation and already sucked up all these high quality movies... it happens I remember liking Howard the duck and I tried to rewatch it and I couldn't do it it was so horrible and a completely different story than I remembered

Clark Gable. He plays a professional vulture and nobody suspects a thing. Yeah, this is a good movie. Well done.
My All time favorite movie wonderful superb great. Clark gable
I wasn't into classics like the really classic movies but this movie change that . . And I have learned to love older movies and realized how crappy some movies of today . . . I honestly fell inlove with Gone with the Wind. I love Scarlett.😆 She's funny.
Rename the movie to "Gone with the Political Correctness".
It was protested against since it released in theatres
A movie that portrays Southerners without horns on their heads. How scandalous!
I bet this PC MF’s are definitely crying with this trailer. 😄😄😄
Jeong-hun Sin Or rename it “I’m pouting because a movie made 80 yrs. ago, while not celebrating slavery, had the nerve to reflect that there was slavery in the 1860’s, but was actually a love story, should be Gone With the Wind”.
Jeong-hun Sin
Common Sense has 'Gone with the bloody Wind'
who's watching this in 2019
Ronalds Bērziņš I watch it every Christmas
Lighten up, it’s a movie about another time made in an even different time.

i was watching the trailer and reading comments to see if I should watch it or not for the first time, since I’m in Jefferson City in Texas and they have the house of the movie, or something like that, it’s a museum 9 min from my rented house 😅. I’ve never heard of it before and I’m 34yrs old !
Rest in peace, Olivia de Haviland 🤎
