Thank you for this. I just got a Vanilla Orchid vine today and I am researching proper care . This was straight to the point as far as pollinating the orchid if it does bloom. Love the tropics!!!
Well dear... this might be a small quick video but it's the clearest one I've found!!! Now I understand how to do it!!!... all I gotta do is buy me a plant 😍
Wow....awesome vanilla flowers, it looks like a orchid flower !! , this is my first time to see vanilla flower, I was vanilla plant before but have never seen flower/s. Yesterday I bought vanilla plant, I hope it will grow flowers next time. Thanks for sharing yr video and yr beautiful garden and I saw one cocoa fruit, love them.
I will NEVER stick my fingers in my mouth again 😳 but seriously...thank you for the no stupid, fluffy stuff people seem to do in videos.....PERFECTLY done explanation.
Another fascinating video. I had no idea about this. My big question was, "how does it happen naturally if you don't do the pollinating?" and you answered it! Thanks, Gabe. Beautiful gecko, too!
greetings from us conventional Indonesian vanilla farmers🇲🇨 who are still learning. oh your support and knowledge. to improve our vanilla cultivation method and our better channel. thank you
you did a great video and made it a bit more clear as to how to try to pollinate a vanilla plant, thank you! where are you located? your landscaping and sound of birds in the background is like a dream... and doesnt come off as in north america/US... hopefully you see this, thank you again!!
Gday mate! Thanks for the upload. Just wondering what conditions the plant needs to survive please? Does it need shade, semi shade lots of water? Thanks
you should try growing green tea and some more shade plants! Im pretty jealous of the climate there I live in Washington where its too cold to grow anything cool and exotic like that
Hey where and how to sell the beans? I’m planning to farm it here so I’m doing some research. It would really help me out if u can share ur experience. 😋
How are they pollinated in the wild? Are the bees that meticulous that they can lift and then smash that part into the sticky part? If so I would like to see it.
Would love a cutting! I just moved to Oahu and used to grow it on the mainland with varied success - okay little success! I couldn't bring any of my plants with me so am trying to learn a lot about the local flora! Where do you recommend I buy a cutting?
Wahy would it not be a good idea to import some of the necessary honey bees to help the pollination process. My brother in law is in apiary work and through him I know that bees, hive kits and queens are mailed all the time.
Are you pollinating because you don't want to rely on the insects to to it for you? Also if you don't pollinate the flowers, does that mean the beans won't grow? Like the video. You go into details with the pollinating that a few videos don't do close up shots 👍👍👍 You just answered some of my questions
Wow! Nice. Does that mean that you don't really need to sit around and wait for the flower to open as many suggest? Are you not risking pollinating then vanila before it's ready to pollinate.? Excuse my ignorance.
I live on Saipan which has a tropical climate and would like to try to cultivate vanilla plants. Is there a good source of starter vanilla plants that I can order from? Thanks!
actually this is some quite rare footage there are not much Pictures of vanilla flowers even not in botanical descriptions even thou it is a common crop. if you are lucky(chances are there) you have a unnamed subspecies of vanilla tahitienses or vanilla fragrans if you are not willing to go through the pain of taxonomy, royal horticultural Society is always interested in samples or even Pictures... btw you ma get better results in pollen acception and actual capsule development by taking the pollen and actual moving it from oneplant to another and it also can help not to take off the petals but wait untill ist fully opened
In the last part of the video, you are talking about a species of middle American bees which can do the pollination the natural way. You don't know by any chance the name of the species? Thanks!
Just curious, how did vanilla ever grow in the wild if it must be hand pollinated? Is there some animal or insect that does in nature what you’re doing by hand? Never mind! As you got to the end, you answered my question. There was a bee that does what you do by hand. Creation is amazing!

Ps: why you didn't collect the vanilla petals and make homemade perfume or Essential oil? you also can mix with other flowers to make it, how's that?
Your videos are making me homesick. So I subbed :)
Can you dead head the blooms to encourage more blooms and thereby increase the yield of the plant???
Thank you! I tried to zoom in to try to understand how better to pollinate. Do you have a zoomed in video?
Vanilla bean ice cream is one of my favorites.

Never mind you answered my question before the video ended. bout the bee
you should try growing green tea and some more shade plants! Im pretty jealous of the climate there I live in Washington where its too cold to grow anything cool and exotic like that
gonna do tea soon
Most tea varieties prefer a higher elevation setting. Up by Mountain View or Volcano, for example.
Camellia Sinensis will grow anywhere if you look after it, not just in the tropics or higher altitudes
Hey where and how to sell the beans? I’m planning to farm it here so I’m doing some research. It would really help me out if u can share ur experience. 😋
The best way to sell your beans would be online or at your local farmers markets, you'll get the best price for your beans that way.

Wahy would it not be a good idea to import some of the necessary honey bees to help the pollination process. My brother in law is in apiary work and through him I know that bees, hive kits and queens are mailed all the time.
bees don't help
the world dose it by hand
Do you have to pollinate all the vanilla flowers for a harvest?
Thanks for the demonstration. It was very clear and useful. However, what time of the day is best for pollinating.?
Very nice vanilla.how long the vanilla flower will come out from the day of planting bos?

Hello Mr
10
Unfortunately the pretty flower has to go...
Goodbye pretty flower... Make a vanilla bean!
They are not beans - they are seed pods!
Pollinating by hands thousands of flowers will be a great burdensome. Let bees, butterfly or flying insects do the game.
