      So I am curious. Did you leave her? If not has the last 26 years been good, bad or the typical rollercoaster life of good and bad? Has she been faithful ever since? Where and are you two religious people, like did you attend church on a regular basis and practice your faith? Just curious and I don't mean to bring up bad feelings, so if you are not comfortable answering then don't.

      IQ has a large component consisting of pattern recognition. So the kid seeing something unusual, ie: not the normal daily pattern or when she got her gift [bribe] outside the normal timeline [pattern], she was quick to recognize that which then resulted in a, seemingly, out of the blue vocalization of the change in her normally observed patterns.
      So in this story, it actually makes a lot of sense to me that the kid has a high IQ, maybe outright, maybe just for her age, and was easily able to spot abrupt changes in daily patterns around her and then told her daddy about it because it stuck out to her.
      If her natural abilities are nurtured from a young age she could grow up to be very intelligent.

    Its absolutely wild to me how cheaters can argue that you shouldn't "give up a 6 year relationship" because of cheating.
    You don't "give up" said relationship. You try to make peace with the fact that your partner was fine with destroying it.
    There is just no point in having a relationship with someone who doesn't value the relationship.

The Olympic, one of the identical sister ships of the Titanic, gained a very good reputation and got the nickname the "old reliable" by safely making it through many dangerous situations, especially during the world war up until 1935, when it was finally put out of service.
      But your point still stands. Its usually better to try a new approach instead of using an old one that failed in the past.

      You know I hear this crap of "Kids are resilient" and yes they are. How about I come over and shoot you with my 44 magnum in the shoulder, because I know you won't die and you are resilient? This is HORRIBLE for the children, and one step better than an abusive relationship. Guys guys guys, you are kidding yourself if you think like this. Just one stat, for you. The vast majority of women who are lesbian had a traumatic experience in their childhood. Of this a painful divorce counts. We are talking over 75%. It is actually significantly higher but certain groups are working hard to hide this data. So let this sink in for a second. Even if you are cool with lesbians, you have to at least admit that number is staggering. If the data was more easily available I believe we would find it is closer to 90+%, but again 75 is staggering.

      To understand this you require some knowledge of the particular evolution of human sexual biology.
      Have you ever noticed that while most female mammals display their ovulation status, female humans do not. This is rare amongst mammals and leads to particular problems with how to identify the males who have the fittest genes to breed the next generation. Those majority species that do display have the males gather to the female when she displays impending ovulation. The males compete in a way that shows who has the fittest genes... that male gets to mate and breed.
      Most males of every species are not the fittest to be passing on their genes, so humans had to solve the selection problem, and did that via the woman selecting the man that instinct tells her she should breed with.
      It's believed that this strategy developed as we grew big brains that take many years of nuturing to train. Human babies are normally born about 9 months premature .... they have to or the head would never be able to exit the birth canal. This is why for the next 9 months a baby is extremely dependent on it's mother. Compare this to a foal that within the day of birth is up on it's hooves and starting to learn to run about.
      Ok, so this means that a pregnant woman requires a long period of protection and provisions between being heavily pregnant and starting to have some independence from the baby. Even after that, she and the child need support and protection for a number of years. Essentially, she needs a pair-bonded man at her side or the breeding effort may be lost to the local sabre-toothed cat's dinner.
      Our biology under went some evolution to support the forming of pair-bonds, in particular, hyping up the sex drive so that the couple can mate regularly without the ovulation status trigger. This keeps the man happily with her, being rewarded with mating as he desires and in the hope that by chance, one of the matings will match the ovulation point to conceive a child.
      But as I pointed out earlier, most males are not fit to sire the next generation. Here evolution has stepped in and selected for the behaviour of those women who can sneak away from their pair-bonds to mate with the highest sexual valued man that is available to them. They bring back the resultant child for their cuckold to raise, as the limited number of high value men cannot provide for all the children they must father to ensure enough of each generation is breed from a good enough gene pool to keep our species from becoming extinct.
      Now, for a woman to sneak of to mate with another man is risky, the alpha may be a stranger and likely be a large, strong aggressive man and if caught by her pair-bond man she was most likely to be killed.
      So evolution has provided women with blinkers to enable her to readily follow her mating instinct. Devious sneakiness, ability to gas light to cover her tracks, ability to absolutely deny everything even when caught with the alpha still inside her... to try to avoid being killed... and most importantly, she gets a heightened sense of sexual pleasure by knowing she is cucking her pair-bond.
      Men notice this and call it affair-fog. Beer googles for women. It literally forces a woman to normalise/rationalise what she is doing despite her attachment to her pair-bond. Natures aim is to get her inseminated and safely home to a good man who is taking care of her.
      So she usually does genuinely love her pair-bond but cant stop a raging need to mate with just the right man who appears at just the right time AND she has a huge fear of death if she is faced with her pair-bond ejecting her. Remember that it is usual for a woman to leave her family, clan, tribe, valley to go and live with her pair-bond... even if her pair-bond doesn't kill her on the spot, being thrown out of the community to the wolves of the forest would likely be fatal anyway.
      You can see exactly this evolutionary programme in the woman of this drama. She was exposed to just the right man, she had a cover story of him being there to check on the house (no cover if spotted at a hotel or his place), manipulating the daughter to ensure that if she is carrying her alpha's child she can safely get her husband to help raise it. Her panic on being discovered and her desperation to maintain the pair-bond relationship. (In the past, and sometimes even in modern times, the ejection of the woman also meant the death of her existing children because the man can no longer be sure they are his). It's way more than just her wanting to keep her comfort zone.
      The major point is that the temporary alteration to her brain chemistry evaporates pretty quickly once the alpha has done his purpose or she is shocked by discovery. This is seen in this story, but she doesn't understand what had been going on in her head so she tries to explain herself but doesn't have the the accurate words to do so, so she sounds self-serving and illogical.
      While she was with her alpha her brain was telling her that everything was ok, she must mate and it will be over soon and this doesn't hurt her relationship with her pair-bond, because he doesn't know about her alpha couplings and his purpose is to help raise ALL of her children.
      And usually it is true that women doing this really don't like their alpha as a person. They do love their pair-bond and don't want to hurt him and don't logically choose to betray him. You see this even in cases where the woman separates from her pair-bond and moves to her alpha and this new relationship soon fails because without the affair fog she starts to see her alpha as a real person with real flaws that she cant stand.
      All women have this programming, the women caught cheating are not some sort of group of moral delinquents or flawed. They are actually acting as true human beings and what they are doing is important for the long term survival of our species.
      Most woman are strong minded enough and have pair-bonds of high enough value that they can resist desires they feel toward the quality men around them. But the weaker, lower masculinity of their pair-bond, the stronger the pull if a high quality man catches her eye.
      There is no such thing as a woman who is totally trustworthy and unshakably loyal. They are on a spectrum depending on their self control, the masculine strength of their pair-bond and the quality of the options around them.... so beware.... always.

      Very common with caught cheaters. She never intended to leave her husband (“it’s just sex, it means nothing”) or have her home life change in any significant way (“as long as he doesn’t find out then he’s not getting hurt”). She just planned to f*** this guy behind his back. She was probably telling herself that once the repair work was done then they’d go their separate ways and she would just go on with her life as if nothing ever happened. She also probably really did believe in her twisted mind that she still loved her husband. The mental gymnastics of treacherous partners is Olympic-tier.
      They call these people cake eaters, a reference to the phrase “having your cake and eating it too.” The plan of people who do this is to have their spouse for stability and financial support and a comfortable home life, while also having their AP or multiple APs on the side for living out pornographic sex fantasies. You might ask why they don’t simply do that with their spouses. They’ll give a million excuses, but what it usually boils down to if you read between the lines is this: the betrayal is what makes it thrilling. If it’s legitimate then it’s not taboo and therefore not fun.
      There’s a whole subreddit for them. Don’t visit, it’s extremely depressing how utterly delusional, selfish and entitled those people are.

      I am not sure he was all that mature. While I can respect most of his actions. I mean telling his parents that can never understand what he is going through, because it has never happened to them. Well that doesn't sound very mature to me. In fact, it sounds pretty childish to me. Maybe to a teenager, or people in their 20s or even 30s it does. Before you think of me as some old boomer dude who is past it, and doesn't get it because life was easier and less complicated for my generation. Think again. I am not married, I don't have children, and life has given me it's fair share of kicks, from growing up poor, to cheating girlfriends, to murdered family members, to medical malpractice, and a whole lot more. I have also had success in sports, in work, and on and off financially as well. Sure their have been people not capable of understanding, but there have also been others that given far deeper insights on situations, I never thought possible.
      I am pretty sure he made it more about himself, than his friends, his parents, or even his children, for a while there anyway. Still his actions for the most part are commendable, I just hope he comes to the realization one day that he is not the only one suffering becuase of that act of betrayal from his ex wife. Still he is a great example for his daughter. She will look at him and realize oneday that she better not make the same stupid decisions her mother made. He has taught his children a lesson on morals, that for me is the best that you can hope for in a situation like that.

    Actually, in today's world, when it comes to marriage, this is about as happy an ending as a man can hope for. It's just another great story for any guy considering getting married. What actually stands to me is how the daughter, Sammi, is actually more mature than the mother, Deedra. For proof I will refer to "The Stanford marshmallow experiment was a study on delayed gratification in 1972 led by psychologist Walter Mischel, a professor at Stanford University. In this study, a child was offered a choice between one small but immediate reward, or two small rewards if they waited for a period of time""As the years rolled on and the children grew up, the researchers conducted follow up studies and tracked each child’s progress in a number of areas. What they found was surprising.
    The children who were willing to delay gratification and waited to receive the second marshmallow ended up having higher SAT scores, lower levels of substance abuse, lower likelihood of obesity, better responses to stress, better social skills as reported by their parents, and generally better scores in a range of other life measures." I was amazed that Sammi refused the gift, preferring to wait for her birthday. Talk about delayed gratification. Deedra, the mother, on the other hand, displayed all the behaviors of instant gratification risking her marriage. I think most people (not just women) are of this mindset....so most people learn to hide their basically childish immediate gratification true selves so they can fit into society and cheat when they think they can get away with it. What this story convinces me is that this trait is inherent...the daughter had so much integrity she couldn't lie to her father no matter how much the mother tried to bribe her. The shame is that so many men have to go through divorce to learn what kind their wife is.

      The part that his ex-wife still doesn’t realize is that her daughter told on her and she did it again anyway. He waited until she did it again even with the danger of getting being found out again, she thought it was worth it. That’s the ultimate nail in the coffin. He’s never going to fold, because she’s obviously not a reliable, trustworthy woman that even knows how to play the odds of life.🤷🏾‍♂️😎

    If she had not cheated before, it was just because she did not have the opportunity. (I don't believe it). She was very matter of fact that as long as she kept him pleased in bed that it did not matter if she got some extra Vitamin D. In their bed with the kids in the house.
    And for those people that you will get over it.. I caught my ex doing some shady stuff 39 years ago and we were divorced then, and it still bothers me. It is not all consuming, but probably why I am listening to these stories all these years later. That kind of betrayal just changes who you are at a base level.

    I separated from my xwife in 2010 when my son was 2 the divorce was finalized the end of 2012 I’ve raised my son every since 100% by myself. He’s 14 now and an absolutely amazing kid! I did have to talk to her some but not much. So yeah it can be done it’s just hard to do as a man.

    Great story! I suspect that due to time limitations he couldn't cover many of the usual things we see in stories of infidelity: DNA the kids, STD tests, returning to the dating pool, etc. My guess is that this wasn't her first rodeo.

      The more that I think about this story, he needs to DNA the kids, even though he may not want to know if he's not the biological father. In the case of an emergency down the road where he or they need blood transfusions, bone marrow surgeries, kidney transplants, etc., I hate for him to find out he/they are not compatible donors. The other thing I'd want to find out from his ex-MIL why WW cheated (kind of like an exit interview); later on, his oldest will realize her mom and window man weren't actually "napping" and will want a full explanation. He needs to be prepared with one.

She KNEW something was up when her mother tried to bribe her with gifts to cover up the mother's cheating. She's more perceptive than many full-grown men!     His wife is the hardest type of cheater to catch because she doesn't change her behavior with the husband, happily f'ing both of them probably on the same day. The cheaters that can't cheat on their AP are the ones that give it away with their behavior so he was lucky his kid ratted her out. But marriage should be dead in the west as it makes no sense at all for guys, even having children really should be a no go except if you do it with a surrogate. Lastly he should have vetted her better, I would bet that she was a party girl all during her college years and probably a cheater during those years as well but he jumped into a marriage with her right away which will cost him years of child support.

    IQ has a large component consisting of pattern recognition. So the kid seeing something unusual, ie: not the normal daily pattern or when she got her gift [bribe] outside the normal timeline [pattern], she was quick to recognize that which then resulted in a, seemingly, out of the blue vocalization of the change in her normally observed patterns.
    So in this story, it actually makes a lot of sense to me that the kid has a high IQ, maybe outright, maybe just for her age, and was easily able to spot abrupt changes in daily patterns around her and then told her daddy about it because it stuck out to her.
    If nurtured correctly this girl could have a very bright future.

    I am female, & I've 2 young male relatives, growing-up without a positive alpha male in their lives. So, I seek wisdom/perspectives from channels like yours to educate them. I found it odd that Daddy was more closely attuned to Sammi than mommy! She behaved as if she were detached, with little regard for her family, until she got caught. She just felt OFF to me. I think she may have had a lot more OFF behaviors hidden away.

    You can't say that marrying too young is bad, while simultaneously saying that women with HIGH BODY COUNTS are red flags. You have to risk one or the other. I married my wife when she was 19, I was guy #8!!! I KNOW that if we hadn't married, she would have been on guy #40 by the time she was 25. She's fairly well damaged from the first 8, at 25y/o she'd have been a total basket case. In reality, the ONLY good scenario is to marry A VIRGIN who has had no one else's DNA spliced into her. Yes, sperm deposits DNA into women and their unfertilized eggs. We have been lied to about this not being the case. Each DNA has its own frequency and THAT is why they get crazier and crazier the more guys that they are with. The emotional damage comes from biological(genetic) processes NOT just "feelings". Hell, I've had many women and had my heart broken a few times but that has never affected how I view reality or how I treat others. I could meet a fine babe tomorrow and fall deeply in love as I did the first time I fell in love. Women can NOT do this, they are biologically injured with each passing exposure. If you weren't her first, you'll NEVER be her 'first pick'.

    Feeling what OP feels towards your cheating partner is VERY HEALTHY. Heck, it's even healthy to physically hurt your partner and their AP a bit, but of course that will go against you when the police get involved.
    It's not healthy to obsess over it, especially over a long period of time. That is the unhealthy part, not the anger, hate, or resentment towards the rascal who backstabbed you.

    A man gets cheated on. He sees it as "Why should I pay for pu$$y? I take her out to dinner, help pay the bills, take her on vacations, give her emotional support, etc... Why should I give 100% when she's giving me 80%? Why should I put up with her giving this other guy pu$$y for free?" A woman gets cheated on. She sees it as "I've completely failed him in every way, and he's found my replacement. He's unhappy with my cooking, cleaning, s-word performance, my body, my personality, etc.." This is why a woman will go ballistic when her man cheats on her- "How could you do this to me, to us, I cook, I clean, I raise your children!" And the best part: This could be the same woman who is also cheating, but won't admit it to her partner.
    A woman will rationalize cheating by convincing herself she's not doing it to replace her partner, but to augment her s-word life. She's just fulfilling a s-word FANTASY- s-x with the neighbor, a threesome, doing it with a grungy biker, doing it with a much older or younger man, etc... It's never done to hurt her guy, but done for her own needs. Her partner could give her great s-word experiences every time they "do the deed", and she could also cheat in order to fulfill the number ONE female craving- ATTENTION. This is why she will freak out when caught. Her security, reputation, lifestyle, income, family, and life-balance are now threatened... all because she needed to feel younger and more youthful, or because she didn't let a fantasy stay a fantasy.
    Once caught and threatened with breaking-up, separation, or divorce; it's not uncommon to see her begging for forgiveness and offering the one-sided open relationship for her partner. This is a strategic move for her. She knows her partner will have a much more difficult time finding "lovers" because women typically aren't interested in "hooking up" with men who admit to being in open relationships. Women call BS on this and accuse the guy of wanting to cheat on his wife or girlfriend. She's banking on this! And all the while taking advantage of keeping her "relationship" in tact with her partner... tapping all the "resources" he's provided her with.

    The big point to me is that she is sorry she got caught. She now realizes at some point that she will have to get a job and go to work every day. This makes her sick. No more staying at home.

    People that cheat have something inside them that is broken. To best understand cheating it is important to remember the act of cheating is the last link in a chain of events. Normal non-cheaters know how to break that chain early. I know of a female that is an alcoholic and over her almost 15-year marriage would start drinking again. Would not contact her AA sponsor in time. This drinking then led to hanging out in bars and this led to the backseat of cars. The husband discovered her cheating and forgave her with the promise she had to stop drinking. Of course, she did not, got drunk again, and landed in a downtown Richmond Virginia hotel. They are now divorced. A person can feel neglected and land in the arms of an AP. I'm just saying that once you are a cheater you are ALWAYS a cheater given the exact same circumstances that led up to the first time you cheated. Time and time again I see this. In that first female response, I would be willing to bet my next dividend check she is in a loveless marriage where she and her husband are just roommates! One last point. This woman is the mother of the OP's kids. Still, you can't allow her to use making herself unalive holding your morality ransom like that! My GF is a family law Attorney in Virginia. She has told me many times when her client transmits to her a threat to cause self-harm she tells them THEN to call the proper authorities and have that partner admitted to a psychiatric hospital. It's sad, but you can't let her hold you, hostage, like this.

    The Temporary Insanity excuse had me chuckling. You could have fun with that one.
    If you went insane once, what's to guarantee you won't go insane again? The next time you go crazy, will you just cheat - or will I end up with a knife in my back?
    If I went temporarily crazy, would you ever feel safe around me again? Any answer other than "no" is met with "you're lying and we both know it." When she answers "no", that's when you say "exactly - and that's why we can never be together again. You're lucky I don't use your insanity confession to take away our kid from you. What court would allow an insane parent to keep her kid? STUPID.
    All that said, the silent treatment is best here. Do not engage. There is nothing but toxicity in engaging with someone who disrespects you like that.
    Edit: that final update only proves she was selfish to the end. While she was offering him everything, the one thing she refused to give him was the one thing he wanted - freedom from her. #Irony #Consequences

    I know that I would not acknowledge her again unless in an emergency. My ex did something very similar only she was taking our young sons to the guy's house and having his nanny take the kids to a nearby park while they had sex. Then she instructed my sons not to mention any of this. I was horrified that she was not only cheating but including our innocent children in on the lie.
