got brezza AMT 3 months back, and all of these three problems encountered. But the last one I got by my self so technically first 2 problems was there also asked with the Maruti serviceman they replied that it functions like this only.... not a satisfactory answer... THANK YOU very much to address this issue and giving this hack. The Uphill thing nearly got me crashed but thankfully controlled the car in that wheel spin so basically avoided that uphill road, much better now the handbrake trick worked nicely. Again THANK YOU !!
I had manual Amaze, it was really amazing car, powerful and good mileage but due to manual I changed to AMT Celerio and the started my nightmare BUT I my own understood how to handle such situations and managed control over it. My story is almost like yours, I had a Honda Civic 7th Gen manual, amazing car I sold it on 116,000 miles still on 1st clutch. Now I have Honda Civic i-shift (AMT) not even 60,000 miles and the clutch is already worn. What a nightmare, I will keep this car until end of 2023 and if I'm alive, will trade for a fully manual car.

Excellent! I normally drive a Benz which has a DCT gearbox and hill assist. Recently I bought Kwid which has AMT transmission. I was confused why the car was rolling back even in "D" mode and vice-versa. I thought the AMT is malfunctioning. Good that this video exists. Now I know why! Government should make Hill-assist function mandatory. Its nothing short of a safety feature.

The problems on incline and decline are not only in AMT but also in manual transmissions. You need to handle them with hand break in AMT Cars just as you handle them with a combination of clutch and break in manual. I drive daily on steep inclines and have no problems.
By calling me an inexperienced driver won’t prove any point. People have been facing multiple issues with their AMTs be it the judderring, slow-feedback and calibration related issues are very common. Did a test drive of new baleno AMT with hill hold assist. It was very good and reliable! Gave enough confidence for a guy who has driven manual for almost 15 years
Nice video 👍 The first three problems can be encountered in a manual transmission as well. Usage of handbrake in uphill stopping scenarios is a good technique to put less pressure on clutch and the brake pedal. Also, use of just the clutch to get that initial rpm in case of manual, is also a good practice.

@@ananyachaudhuri3715 AMT GEARBOX is nothing but a manual gearbox which is made automatic So if you need sudden surge of power or have to overtake or climbing a incline/hill quickly press the accelerate pedal all the way to down and relase Therefore car would downshift 👌🏻 Upshift it's not a feature but whenever you lightly tap the pedal the car would upshift very useful in highways better mileage
First 2 problems r with MT also think thats not a problem in every vehicle first 2 things r common and third one is not a problem but u have given a solution i have tried this 6 years ago
@A J hmmmmmmm, swift is a very good choice. CVT is obviously better than AMT but it costs way more. As in the new 2020 honda city costs 16 lakh. For a CVT btw. CVT is used only by honda and hyundai uses DCT. If you have any doubt you can ask me.
@@RAJEEVBU CVT has its fair share of problems, but it's is indeed smoother that amt. But again it has some problems as well. The best gearbox is definitely dsg. But it's much more expensive than the other two because it is much more complex and much better.

Problems mentioned are actually NOT problems. I also own Maruti Dzire 2017 model and have never found any such problems in past two years. 1. In an Uphill or downhill situation the car may slightly move in opposite direction but it's not to that extent (same problem can be experienced in manual transmission also. So it also depends on driving pattern). Though the handbrake trick shown can be quite useful. 2. AMTs are fully compatible for heavy traffic, where we should use the creeping function. "Using accelerator unnecessarily In traffic" doesn't make any sense of owning an AMT car. Very useful video for new owners of AMT Cars. 👍
I would sacrifice ease of use AMT for manual. Coz it's better to be in control than to be dependent on something u cannot properly control according to ur need.
there is no flaw in maruti suzuki AMTs these tricks are already told by the salesman during trial but really helpful for the ignorants otherwise your video editing, voice quality etc make you a professional video maker
Purchased, Wagner Zxi AGS, 2022, this one has improved on this 3 shortcomings, the hill assit doesn't take the car backward,the Crawl mode is good during bumper to bumper traffic & the speed low to high can be tackled also
Great video! Minor correction on creep function... AMT kit dose not have self learning for creep function. Also, renault does not have creep function. Hand brake and launch on grades is considered to be the best practise and it helps in long life of clutch, vehicle juddering.
I live in a hilly state where the roads are really narrow and steep. The traffic is congested and constantly pressing the clutch is tiring. I thought AMT would offer a cheap alternative. But after seeing your video I felt as if AMT are not suitable for hilly terrain. But meant to be driven on plain areas with light acceleration. Thanks for the video.
No car in AMT segment in India has AI based self learning ECU... mapping can be changed via connecting ECU to a external computer which has the required software to recode ECU..but loved the way host mentioned that..lol😂
@@Aditya-wt9rz not really Aditya. Electric handbrake and Hill hold are two different things. A vehicle can have either or both and both are independent systems. Hill hold just activities brake for a few seconds when the sensor detects incline. This allows driver to take the foot off the brake pedal without the car rolling back or forward, based on slope direction, and press the accelerator. The moment sensor detects that, the car moves forward without slipping back. Electric hand brake or parking brake simply is an easier and convenient way to apply handbrake, though I prefer the old fashioned lever 😊. Hope that helps.
@@Aditya-wt9rz this is introduced in Dzire 2021, I think. Also Dzire is given a little bit more features compared to Swift like rear ac vents, flat bottomed leather wrapped stering wheel, faux wood cover on dash board to name a few. Both products have different meaning and placement.

AMT is boon for drivers who is frustrating with half clutch,gear and break. No need handbrake, just use left leg on break pedal and right leg on accelerate pedal and control them both. I tried it and never face such situation in hill station driving

Thanks for the information...for the last part where you need to overtake, in general more speed is required so how come downshift of gear will help here...pls suggest.
AMT is cheapest among auto gear. Go for CVT or DSG by paying 30 or 70 % more price if you want more smoothness, power etc. For me AMT is fine - a lot more easier than manual at only about 10 % cost than same variant manual.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes with a hill hold now as per the website. That will really help in ghat driving 👍

@@Aditya-wt9rz not really Aditya. Electric handbrake and Hill hold are two different things. A vehicle can have either or both and both are independent systems. Hill hold just activities brake for a few seconds when the sensor detects incline. This allows driver to take the foot off the brake pedal without the car rolling back or forward, based on slope direction, and press the accelerator. The moment sensor detects that, the car moves forward without slipping back. Electric hand brake or parking brake simply is an easier and convenient way to apply handbrake, though I prefer the old fashioned lever 😊. Hope that helps.

@@Aditya-wt9rz this is introduced in Dzire 2021, I think. Also Dzire is given a little bit more features compared to Swift like rear ac vents, flat bottomed leather wrapped stering wheel, faux wood cover on dash board to name a few. Both products have different meaning and placement.

@@f4350 I do have a car without ABS. But airbags is a *safety feature* and every car should have it. And power steering is common now. You can't avoid that.

Usually in manual cars will push lmto start in 1st or 2 nd gear what about AMT
syed farhan you can do same push start in AMTs also. Conditioned your vehicle is in neutral gear before you start pushing the vehicle.
Call a crane get ur car towed there is no such thing as push and start here

AMT is boon for drivers who is frustrating with half clutch,gear and break. No need handbrake, just use left leg on break pedal and right leg on accelerate pedal and control them both. I tried it and never face such situation in hill station driving

Internationally most of the cars are automatic and we have very negative information about automobile transmission but I m driving for 2 years their are more advantages over these disadvantages
They use CVTs, Torque Converters and DCTs, and not AMTs. Get your facts right?
Sure but AMT is cheap compared to such transmissions, customers have to pay more for mentioned transmission and cost is the biggest factor

AMT is cheapest among auto gear. Go for CVT or DSG by paying 30 or 70 % more price if you want more smoothness, power etc. For me AMT is fine - a lot more easier than manual at only about 10 % cost than same variant manual.
Majority of AMT cars have hill assist features, nowadays.
The only mass-segment AMT that has hill hold is XUV300. Rest others are either CVTs or torque converter automatics.
