i think they do not consider the unstable platform because it is a crash test and they rate a car when the car crashes, all the stars all the ratings are awarded on the basis of the performance of the car during a crash. although i totally agree with you that if a structure is unstable it must be penalized as it will lead to an unfortunate incident due to its structure. so a stable structure will help in reducing these crashes. imo all the passive safety features like ESC, EBD, traction control shall be discarded if they are not penalizing the unstable structure, or in other words they should only focus on the performance of a car based on a crash.
Very informative, would like you to shed light on myths and realities about panoramic sunroof especially regarding safety. Apart from it I want influencers and auto journalists like you all to promote safe driving since at the end of the day even the cars with 5 star rating can't save you if you are going beyond serious three digit numbers in speed.

Really appreciate the video, and thanks for sharing it. In short, irrespective of the rating, we should focus on our driving habits. Kudos to Maruti for providing the base variant.
This is the only video I have come across in a long time that makes logic sound good when it comes to crash tests. I always had similar doubts in my mind but I decided to be quiet after a humiliating altercation with one of my own cousins who was an andhbhakt of a safe car making brand without having any knowledge of automobiles. We are living in a country where making best use of your knowledge for yourself only makes sense. When you try to enlighten someone with proper information and logic what you get in return is hatred and negative criticism. But thanks to you for bringing up the information. It will enlighten at least a few minds. But please don't expect much from the biased community.
If it is Tata-Mahindra, then it is REAL 5 star safety rating. Anything else is false rating. Buy Tata-Mahindra for best ownership experience and best performance with best in class fuel efficiency❤ Jai Bharat🚩
I feel like somewhere some people whose main focus used to be SHOWOFF and BRAGING their cars 6 airbag and 5 star are not able to digest that now middle-class car is providing 5 star and 6 airbag that too in base varient.
This Is Most Important Area That You Discussed With Us, It's Very Much Important That Each Of The UA-camr Should Cover This Important With Every Car Or Vehicle Review !!!
Whether 5 star or not but it should be made with high strength steel, pillar should not collapse in decent speed ofcourse seatbelt and airbags are more important or necessary
Sometimes buying VW or cars like Ford makes complete sense at they are actually best when it comes to safety. E.g. there are multiple situations like when a car is hit from behind, or the car should avoid roll overs etc for which the tests arent done currently. So I've seen in so many VW cases that people have actually survive even when in between trucks. Scores are a good reference, but sometimes human experience and feel of things tells a lot😊
I think all brands must send their base model in GNCAP or BNCAP. Indian Government Should make rules for companies like without 4 stars they won’t launch new car.
There must be a 100 point system with a set weightage for all the safety measures. Ranking of all the rated cars must be published based on this score. Also, the scores should be revised after every couple of years based on the latest security standards so that a car rated 95 in 2022 be scored again basis 2025 safety features to keep the rating updated. The government should give incentives/monetary benefits(tax cut) to manufacturers for submitting the base model of their car to get tested by GNCAP(or any other standard organization). A part of this monetary benefit paid by govt to manufacturers should be paid as a fee to GNCAP to keep up the operational costs.
Ek or tareka hai results janne ka just look out or notice car platform and chassis if they feels compact and stable just after the crash you can consider them safer whether its 5 star or 3 star you get some idea of the level of protection but everyone will not able recognize car in crash test
a well informed video. thanks for keeping us aware & making us concerned about how this ratings work, it's been high time to only judge cars by stars[no matter the brand]. hope to see more of this content & thanks for being yourself.
I agree with a few points and disagree with a few -GNCAP should specify whether it is sponsored, they should also use an adult dummy for the rear passenger, and they should subtract points for an unstable structure. But, I think it is correct to deduct points if your frontal stability is not good, as too high points for side stability will increase stars and can give you a false picture when your car is too bad in a frontal impact, which I think is more important. But anyway, thanks for this video.
Bhai I personally don’t agree with GNCAP deducting a whole star if they find the side of the car stronger. How about appreciating that and scoring accordingly so that a manufacturer focuses on both frontal and side protection.
I really appreciate on what you do as a auto journalist on you tube. How about you file a PIL, and let the court decide, what is right or wrong, just a suggestion.
lets put car at one side , if we train drivers carefully then accidents can be reduced . Accidents doesn't happen on its own it requires personal touch touch of a human. Many drivers in india dance on roads with big led lights and without the use of indicators , moreover they keep driving rules on there dic . we want safe cars but more than that we need safe and sound minded drivers . I don't know the (good) videos you guys make , can it really change the behaviour or driving style of a person who has no capability of understanding (likes of rajat dalal) .
Fact Check : It is way easier to make body shell more stable in side impacts. But if NCAP starts rating based on side impacts then manufactures would ignore frontal impact & would focus on side impact as it would ensure them maximum ratings with minimum efforts. The thing they do is good, if you check the data, the percentage of lives lost due to frontal impact is humongous in comparison to side impact.
Great video I think you should also address how brands are using the 5 star rating as a marketing ploy instead of actually focusing on making cars safer to drive. How having a good adas system is better than having any crash test rating and other things.
man I dont know why people are hating on him.....he has been critical of ncap for years just the difference is the now instead of tata fanbois maruti ones are butthurt
❤❤Very detailed video, which I generally want to see after Dzire got 5 star. If anyone calls me some fanboy or no, but I got some doubt regarding crash test. First is if Dzire got 5 star rating, then why Suzuki is not advertising in their commercial or even in print media. None of them are showing that. Do they really got 5 star or some people says like it is for international version, not an Indian version, if it is True. Second my question is in many videos we have seen that due to A, B or C pillars Tata cars do pretty well while major accident. Anyone can see and imagine the thickness of all pillars, but if we see same thing in Dzire, I do not see much improvement. So as a general car user, can it still behave in terms of cabin safety or bodyshell intact except engine? And third point which I see about body roll, i don't know if the car can be trustworthy when you are going 100-120 kmph on highway? Can we get this stability same as in all 5 star rated cars. This is major issue because even Alto can run 110+, but only point you trust is if you apply brakes at that speed how the car should behave. I know my comment is lengthy, but I think it is too detailed observation by me, and I will wait for your comments on that also. And Suzuki lovers don't give gaali😂, I have both brand cars and I know both cars positives and negatives very well.
Testing vehicle for safety is an expensive endeavour as such gncap wants car market to sponsor their car themself that's why they reserve 5 star rating. It's no scam, Companies interested enough in safety to earn 5 star themself sent their car to gncap instead of waiting for some non profit charity to sponsor it.
Hello sir, been following you since years but I believe this video should have been uploaded much before than today. UA-camrs today don't talk about brakes, overall stability. Even in bharatncap when Nexon was tested by side impact it was about to topple, in side pole test it was almost broken into half and no one talks about that. When Suzuki achieved 5 stars then all becomes educators that it is sponsored non sponsored.
Does that make the logic incorrect? I didn’t criticise Maruti for scoring good here. This video isn’t about a particular car/brand, but lack of transparency on GNCAP’s part.
@autoyogiofficial Sir didn't meant that your logic is wrong but I insist that these sort of informative videos should be out before. All the other brand cars who scored 5 stars are sponsored only and all the influencers promoted safety on the basis of that and the frontal head on test takes place at the speed of 64km/hr which in reality doesn't usually occur. A sub 4 meter 5 Star crash test rated high ground clearance hatchback so called SUV is considered to be one of the safest but doesn't have worthy brakes. So that should also be put into the reviews this is the only request. Been your regular followers and I expect this from you for your opinions are genuine and unsponsored.
1. Tyres are very important, people dont even check the tyre conditions and drive with 100+ on Indian roads. Nowadays just to save 5 mins they drive non stop 3 to 4 hours 2. Maximum accidents are because of over speeding and at the same time watching cellphones..or typing messages, that brings the topic of basic civic sense. 3. All these ncap testings are totally fake. Many accidents in india doesn't happen like the way ncap is tested 4. Pedestrian safety is important..but many a times accident happens because of pedestrian obstacles or lane cutting.. basically something comes all of sudden..then why metal quality is not important? Why these materials are made of fiber? 5. Most of the cars are now either sub compact suv or plus. Which are 110 bhp plus with equivalent torque figures.. everyone wants to speed up without maintaining proper distance...again basic driving sense. !!
8:00 Vikas bhaiya that's not right they're mainly test minimum safety features. Yaa they're not transparent, but we somehow trust them even at 70% of numbers 😅
They test base variants only when they buy it, when manufacturers sponsor it - they usually send top trims. It’s only Maruti that has sent the base variants
@autoyogiofficial I saw Scorpio N and XUV 700 carsh test frontal test and side test were tested on base variants, and their rest of test like esc and pole test they use higher variants.
That’s the whole point, this gives unfair advantage to brands if they sponsor the tests. They should technically test base variants of a car so that people are aware about the bare minimum safety they will get no matter what variant they choose.
Global NCAP can share Adobe PDF format detailed downloadable reports on their website. Rightly said, unstable shell cars should be penalised and wrongly done penalisation should be avoided.
@@autoyogiofficial tests for people who drive with care.. not rash driving.. so these are standard driving condition.. even Mercedes can't save you.. when you drive with 100 plus speed.. some organization working for free like global ncap.. never criticize for views..
Hello Sir, if all of us know, also report shows maximum fetal accidents happen due to high speeds, then why do we manufactur cars with high speeds... 80 kmph is more than enough... that will reduce fatality. lives are important than time
Why are u guys talking about it now…it was always known the ncap ratings are not at all true for real life…NCAP test are always done in controlled environment with set speed limits and set amount of weight but in real life it is never the same….and all car enthusiasts know this from very beginning but why are you educating now, which you should have done a always from start………Tata and Mahindra actually built their customer base by selling their safety rating story and no doubt many in ecosystem benefited from it….but why now??

When you try to enlighten someone with proper information and logic what you get in return is hatred and negative criticism.
But thanks to you for bringing up the information. It will enlighten at least a few minds. But please don't expect much from the biased community.
Gadkari😂 is responsible 4this .. no road no accident..
That's why we don't need highways 😂
Much Needed ... Do not buy any car blindly seeing the 5 star being "Eat 5 Star Do Nothing ! 😂"
If it is Tata-Mahindra, then it is REAL 5 star safety rating.
Anything else is false rating.
Buy Tata-Mahindra for best ownership experience and best performance with best in class fuel efficiency❤
Jai Bharat🚩
Much appreciated your efforts for clearly declaring the issues in GNCAP system
Thank you for watching and appreciating the video. 🙏
Whether 5 star or not but it should be made with high strength steel, pillar should not collapse in decent speed
ofcourse seatbelt and airbags are more important or necessary
Sometimes buying VW or cars like Ford makes complete sense at they are actually best when it comes to safety.
E.g. there are multiple situations like when a car is hit from behind, or the car should avoid roll overs etc for which the tests arent done currently.
So I've seen in so many VW cases that people have actually survive even when in between trucks.
Scores are a good reference, but sometimes human experience and feel of things tells a lot😊
Autoyogi is known for his direct questioning. Like the way you pick topics and analyse them.
Glad you found the video useful.
Detailed Safety Report Explainer should be a mandatory seciton in reviews for all cars
The actual number of road accidents is much more because sometimes police complaints are not registered by vehicle owners
a well informed video. thanks for keeping us aware & making us concerned about how this ratings work, it's been high time to only judge cars by stars[no matter the brand]. hope to see more of this content & thanks for being yourself.
If car body structure is unstable then it should be awarded zero stars and also banned.
Another way to look at it is by making the sides of the car weaker compared to the front, which could result in better crash test scores.
@@autoyogiofficial One question, would you have a car with safe front or a safe side? You can choose only one.
Bhai fanboys hamesha hurt hi rehte hain. Unki fikar karte toh content banana kab ka band kar dete 😅
Very true & good information to understand this global NCAP zool😅
Thanks, I’m glad you found the information useful.
Safety ratings are just gimmicks!!! drive safe drive responsibly will be only good option
The most logical questions raised, Good job.
The real build quality is shown by two youtubers who post accident related videos
And how do they analyse the speeds at which crash has occurred.
1. Tyres are very important, people dont even check the tyre conditions and drive with 100+ on Indian roads. Nowadays just to save 5 mins they drive non stop 3 to 4 hours
2. Maximum accidents are because of over speeding and at the same time watching cellphones..or typing messages, that brings the topic of basic civic sense.
3. All these ncap testings are totally fake. Many accidents in india doesn't happen like the way ncap is tested
Using the phone while driving feels like Pushpa, Hero, Bazigar, Shehanshah etc etc
Amazing Work Yogi bhai... Need such awareness in society about facts ❤
Waiting for this, really important for every car users 👍👍
Ek batao … jaise hi maruti ne bhi 5 star score kar liya tabhi logo ko 5 start se bharosa uthh gaya. Maruti k saath itna bhed bhaav kiu ?
Why this all is coming out when Suzuki got 5 star?? Why ? This shows the mentality of India 😂😂
Thank you Yogi ji ..its informative , can you please also add what are the old and new norms for test.
GNCAP Got into trouble because how could it give 5⭐ to Dzire 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My favourite and honest youtuber I like the most, I only trust Yogi bro
Underbody crashes ke liye government ka law hai. But, if people follow hi nahi karenge, to GNCAP ho ya BNCAP koi kuchh nahi kr skta.

Thanks for the support, it means a lot.
video starts at 7 min.. 😂😂 bro purchased creta and defending 3 star creta with Global nacp five star 😂😂😂😂...
Haaila aapne toh mujhe expose kar diya. 😅 Media units naam ki ek cheez bhi hoti hai.
@@autoyogiofficial tests for people who drive with care.. not rash driving.. so these are standard driving condition.. even Mercedes can't save you.. when you drive with 100 plus speed.. some organization working for free like global ncap.. never criticize for views..
Very crucial video.
Kudos to Autoyogi✌️🤩
Glad you found it useful.
Hello Sir, if all of us know, also report shows maximum fetal accidents happen due to high speeds, then why do we manufactur cars with high speeds... 80 kmph is more than enough... that will reduce fatality.
lives are important than time
First criticize for safety rating
If it is five star then say safety rating is nothing
"जागरूकता ही बचाव है!"
Agr koi exam me pass hota hai to beshak he usme strength hai.
Aisa nahi kah sakte ki har exam pass hone wala dhokhe se pass hua h.
Much needed video
Kudos to take the stand by Gagan and You!
How can we assess whether Dzire is really 5 star rated and a safe family car?
Why are u guys talking about it now…it was always known the ncap ratings are not at all true for real life…NCAP test are always done in controlled environment with set speed limits and set amount of weight but in real life it is never the same….and all car enthusiasts know this from very beginning but why are you educating now, which you should have done a always from start………Tata and Mahindra actually built their customer base by selling their safety rating story and no doubt many in ecosystem benefited from it….but why now??
Fact Check : Even in sponsored test, it is mandatory to send a base model.
I don’t remember when did Mahindra, Tata, VW/Skoda sent their base variants.

Thank you for the appreciation 🙏
focus on BNCAP and try to improve that which affects us directly
Lekin koi to kuch to kar raha hai. Hum humesha usiko criticize karenge jo kuch to kar raha hai. Lekin Maruti ko nahi karenge jinki unsafe cars ke wajah se lakho log mare ja chuke hai.
Lekin hume kya Global NCAP ki izzat utarenge. Jo sahi nahi par kuch to safety par data samne la raha hai.

Thanks for this excellent deep understanding for safety

This will n more help us to select model of car
VW/SKODA car/Xover gets 5 stars with rear drum brakes while suzuki cars with all disk brakes gets 4 star????
When tata was marketing its 5 stars everything was good.
