I just got my instant pot last week and tried your arroz con gandules and it was fabulous, I never ever made it as good as my mom until now. The only difference is that I used chicken broth instead of water and my instant pot for some reason would not let me change the time on that feature so I did it at 12 minutes and it was perfect. I need to take the time to see how to adjust the temperature for rice because I can adjust it for other things but it wouldn't let me for the rice. thank you for taking the time

I have an instapot too and I’m making this recipe right now. I was hoping to see if there was anyone else who couldn’t adjust their rice time from 12. I’m glad to know it works at 12! Thank you

Be careful putting a towel or anything over the top when releasing the pressure. Instant Pot explained that doing so automatically voids any warranty due to know issues that is causes. I know several people that had pots die or get sensor errors that make the unit useless and each one used to cover the vent or use the vent caps to redirect the flow. It can mess up the internal mechanism which can effect the pressure and sensors.

I would never have thought of making arroz con gandules in my instant pot! However, For first timers, I don't recommend removing the pressure from where you're standing, I use a pot holder and I release standing in the opposite direction to prevent getting an accidental burn. Great recipe Aida!
