I would love more videos like this. You explain and break everything down so clearly. I so appreciate you taking the time for these how to videos. I love that you not only paint for us but you tell exactly what your doing. By the way I could watch you paint all day oh wait that’s what I have been doing😂. No just kidding...(kind of). I’ve waited other artists and it seems like they just assume everyone should know exactly what to do. They neglect to mention you need more water for one technique or are not clear on what stroke they are using. Your an amazing teacher thank you!

I'm so glad I found you. I studied painting in a group with a private instructor while in high school and took a minor in painting in college but no one ever demonstrate brushes or how to use them.
I like your work-you are definitely one of the best on UA-cam. And you are an excellent teacher. You explain things in a simple way, without making us newbies feel stupid. I've really learned a lot from you. I never thought I could learn to do art at my age, but I've actually got a few finished that I think turned out well. Thank you for sharing your time and talent.

I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. I love your work and have been inspired to have a go. This video came up as my gesso was drying. Perfect timing! I would really love you to do more videos like this one, I learnt such a lot from it. Particularly I would like you to show, slowly, how you use the chalk brush in your fantasy paintings.
Thanks Jean! I’m having issues with my large chalk brushes, bristles are falling out onto the canvas..:( I’ll have to wait until I can find some more that are better quality😘

Love it, this is awesome. Many of the strokes I use have been from watching your videos. I have been practicing much in the way of techniques. Lots of trees lately, the making of branches and leaves. Highlights and soft tones. My gesso has been used a lot lately.

This is good when you don´t know how or for what a certain brush are used for, and when you´ve seen someone else use it, it´s less scary to try them out yourself.

I was one of those who found my fave brushes kinda quick, though, I´m still trying new ones just to see if they work for me too, like the soft makeup brushes ;) lol cheap and very handy!

Very recently I started painting as a result of a work dinner involving painting. It was the first time I picked up a paintbrush in over 35+ years since leaving college. I used to be very good at art throughout my school years, and after our painting at the work function it renewed my interest. I feel my artistic side has been reawakened. Ive found my newest brush to such great shading .im so amazed to be able to do it with the fan brush..wow such great results..i can draw freehand of just about any drawing i come across but with your training im starting to do more with the acrylic art form of painting..and im loving my new clouds im blending im makin now.What you do is "your Art is a door and your soul escapes thru your eye's" an im "the rainbow of Light wen the skies are cloudy" both see beauty an i thank you

That was an awesome video. Always appreciate different uses of brushes. Sometimes someone will say use this brush, but I prefer a different brush, like how u love the Filbert brush id like to see clouds. I love them and would like to paint more differently thank u joni. U r so talented and good to us, always encouraging but never imposing has to be a certain way. Thank u cathy

I finally found the makeup brushes you use for the mop brush. I was so frustrated with loosing hairs on my canvas with the traditional brushes Can’t wait to try them.

I did learn quite a bit from this video. First off, I want turquoise! what a beautiful color.... your blending technique example made such a pretty beach scene. I was trying to make ocean waves the other day and think the fan brush would be helpful there. Thanks for taking the time to show us these brush strokes.
