"Denmark is a socialist country and it's doing great" "It's not its a capitalist country with strong welfare nets" "Ok so let's do that" "No thats socialism"
Yeah but the main reasons those countries can pay for those social welfare programs is A. Great amount of taxation and B. The United states relieves the burden of military spending on a grand scale
@@braydonbryan6901 Danes also have much lower income inequality and higher standards of living Investing in welfare via considerable taxes makes sense because poor people don't ship it all off into tax-free ISAs. They spend it on goods and create economic movement rather than hoarding wealth Denmark has recently upped its military by 4.5b kroner, is a NATO member and sent thousands of soldiers to Iraq and Afghan I think you have a contradiction there also, in the sense that you imply Americans somehow manage to upkeep a gigantic worldwide military complex while simultaneously paying little in tax Just don't spend more on your military than the rest of the world combined and start spending that shit on bread and homeless shelters
@@thestonedabbot9551 Okay I rly appreciate the response, but I'm confused are you saying that the u.s does not give great relief for European countries helping them pay for social welfare programs? Secondly I meant Denmark has something like a 50% income tax rate, which also explains why they can afford these programs, also I dont feel income inequality truly plays a big part in poverty, I've been broke and on top of it denied welfare, my family got out of it though, if you're broke forever in this country you suck with money, the u.s is unique from Europe, but in my opinion its better, I'm very tired rn but I will say you saying giving money to the poor and them putting it back into the economy is compelling, but I judge its morality, and it seems to good to be true, there'll be a catch, lmk what u think
@@thestonedabbot9551 I jus feel it's a dangerous game to play when implementing all of these social programs, like even healthcare for example, I think the free market has higher upside than government controlled healthcare, I feel it's better for the free market to succeed on it's own. I think poverty is a problem but I wonder how much of it is inevitable, if we leave people to their own devices and let the free market make the lives of consumers better than at that point you've done all that you can do, everyone earns their keep and may move up the latter based on the choices they make, it seems to be a uniquely western idea but it makes the most sense, the free market has already created the greatest economy ever, I think if we can continue to minimize exploitation our greatness could grow exponentially
@Siena Moreno I saw this late, but also, I honestly feel like if the U.S withdrew all support in Europe I feel Russia could wage a legitimate war on Europe, u let me know how u feel about that, I guess my curiosity lies in - if the u.s had no military involvement in Europe, would nordic countries specifically be able to fund these social programs
I seriously don't understand the point of having a series called "Change my mind" involving a person who is firmly set in their ideological beliefs. Crowder is never gonna change his mind even if someone makes an objective point.
@J P I love when people call other people stupid despite completely missing the very obvious meaning of their very simple sentences. Everybody understands what "Change my mind" is, you impossibly unself-aware child. What your superior far-right brain was not able to process is that even though Crowder is quite clearly told in the simplest of manners how he is wrong, he will never admit being wrong. It actually physically hurts me that I have to explain that out to someone who calls other people idiots. Not understanding that is impossible. Maybe you just didn't want to understand to make a moot point of your own. Just like Crowder does. Oooooh, now I get it.
@J P Oh my fucking god. Are you serious? You actually believe my username is NOT an ironic parody of an edgy teenager nickname? IT'S GOT A FUCKING APPROVED BY CHINA IN IT YOU DIMWIT. You're beyond help, thanks for showing what kind of people stand behind Crowder. As if we needed yet another confirmation. God fucking damn, this is beautiful.
it’s all entertainment. crowder will never change his mind. but the dumbass college students who try to debate him are just jesters for right wing youtube to laugh at. yousef here is actually not an idiot and crowder doesn’t know how to deal with it?
The kid talks in paragraphs, and brings up 2-5 points in one monologue, and Crowder knows that if he takes them on one at a time, the kid will branch it off into other points, not allowing him to explain the other points brought up, giving the illusion that he can’t combat them.
Right of Left link? haven’t seen it so im quite curious and you realize that destiny has been trying to debate shapiro for god knows how long right?? bens just too busy capitalizing on kids still in college lmao.
No, you want the person to reiterate the definition within their context - even if the word definition appears to be obvious. That is a good way to solidify a common ground with which to start the debate. Without such clarification, the debate is likely to get messy and provides the person a chance to wiggle his way out of his initial definition to save his face - which only creates even more confusion. Everyone, including destiny, takes the same word and puts it in his own context for a debate.
douglas carpenter what? what did he even say that was reflective of his personal beliefs i’m sure you could never define socialism without looking it up
It's true, scandinavian countries don't have minimum wages set by the government for the people, but unions in all 3 countries are extremely powerful, and almost all guarantee a minimum wage.
From Basic Economics, by Thomas Sowell: "Just as businesses seek to have government impose tariffs on imported goods that compete with their own products, so labor unions use minimum wage laws as tariffs to force up the price of non-union labor that competes with their members for jobs." Union members don't try to impose minimum wage out of altruism, but to benefit THEMSELVES. If you actually want as many people to be employed as possible, you start by opposing minimum wage.
American social democrat: I want socialism Republican: Oh so you want Venezuela? Nice. Social democrat: Oh no, I meant more like Scandinavia. Republican: Uhhh actually Scandinavia is capitalist, just like us! They just have more of a social safety net but their economy is great. Social democrat: Ah, okay. So I want that. Republican: Uhh wow so you want Venezuela? What the fuck.
Yes but liberals, for whatever fucking reason, continue to insist on calling it "socialism," when that's not even really what it is, and that word triggers people on the right the same way "fascism" triggers people on the left.
@@natebruffett857 You're missing the point, it isn't actually socialism where they take all of your property away and give it to the state, but I see what you mean.
Crowder does that same "you talk in paragraphs, you say so much, blahblah" but in reality actually says way more than the other guy and constantly interrupts him over the course of the debate. So slimy.
"Bernie Sanders is not going to be elected by a rich country" I wouldn't be surprised if we would've elected him here in Norway. He's quite popular here
"Bernie Sanders is not going to be elected by a rich country" Then why is it that so many Scandinavian countries have already implemented policies similar to the ones he's promoting? Watching this was fascinating.
Steven rambles on while claiming the kid speaks in paragraphs. Meanwhile the kid is only allowed to say a sentence or two before Crowder takes the mic back. This is because Crowdy can't keep up.
@@thebossmana Sure but then Americans need to stop calling all Left-wingers socialist. Anytime anyone supports universal healthcare or education or minimum wage standards, you have people on the right yelling "socialist!" and then anytime someone points out that these systems run well in other nations, you have people yelling out "but that's not socialism!". You have to pick one argument, you can't have it both ways. On the other note, the "socialism is evil" was already a loaded statement and clearly he had no intention of changing his mind.
Crowder's whole "I'm debating you rationally and I'm not upset at you, despite you insulting me (but he still brings it up 500 times a minute) and I'm pretending to steelman you and I've heard it all anyways" persona is so obnoxious. It's obvious he's just wasting time because he can't think of a rebuttal, so he has to resort to that time the kid called him autistic, because that's the only thing he got.
He does spend a lot of time reframing the argument into something he's prepared a cookiecutter defense for. Its funny to see things he hasn't prepared for being brought up because he just ignores them
He also can't let the kid talk for more than 20 seconds straight, because then you'd actually hear a coherent theory and not someone interrupting over and over again to make sure that you both use the same definition of words (which was never an issue to begin with here).
The kid didn't even call him autistic, he said the line of thinking was somewhat autistic (poor choice of word, in my opinion) but the point is, that he was referring to the fact that people often think of economics in terms of theory, while ignoring how it actually works in real life.
He backed up before this guy... the microphone didn't reach and we had no sound. People complained that Crowder was not giving the guy the right to speak and everybody the right to listen. I guess people complain if the microphone can't reach or if Crowder is ''in this dudes lap'' Or you can complain about how the 'dude' sat down... Just complain!
personalgao Or you know, he could just give the microphone to the other person and stay at a comfortable distance from them, while giving them a chance to finish their argument instead of immediately taking the microphone away to start another point.
Norwegian here, Destiny is correct on unions. They are an integral part of our labor system, and the representation of workers rights to mobilize into unions is written into law. We have a union organization (LO) that is EXTREMELY well established and represented by numerous political parties (mainly the left parties obviously).
German here….we have BOTH strong unions and a minimum wage. Because something has to cover areas which aren't unionized (ie field workers really don't have much of a representation).
Unions are good until they become political. No union should be able to make donations to political parties, that should be illegal. Unions also shouldn't be allowed to publicly endorse political parties because they end up alienating workers represented by the union. So yes Unions are good, but they have no place in politics, that's called corruption.
@@mr.universe1907 What if one party wants to dismantle unions and the other preserve them? Then would it not be logical for unions to endorse the party that will prevent their demise no matter which party some of their workers support?

And it's a genius idea, because everyone knows the average person has very little information on a given topic PLUS the vast majority of people do not have debating skills. On top of _all_ of that, he could easily edit out someone that makes him look bad or doesn't push his agenda. It's an incredibly disingenuous segment. If a Lefty was doing this, I'd be saying the exact same thing. (example: Jimmy Kimmel's pedestrian questions)... There were people they questioned to name ONE country and they couldn't.... Yeah.
I wouldn't even say people have very little information right, I mean they just don't have statistics and Crowder asks for impossible straw-man examples (keeps asking for a 100% socialist successful country when no one is trying to push for a 100% socialist country) and Crowder prepares for days or weeks for these conversations and then essentially gets his crowd to force people in the chair who have to dig into the back of their head to try to find statistics and data meanwhile Crowder pushes disingenuous questions and data as well and resorting to dirty tactics like nitpicking people's definitions meanwhile he'll never even agree to basic definitions like gender being different from sex
I like the idea of the "change my mind" segments but I do hate the way that Crowder debates. He commits fallacies constantly and appeals to the crowd. I remember thinking that this one was particularly awful, though. Destiny should debate CosmicSkeptic. That would be outstanding.
Well you should know that the entire, "Change my mind" idea is garbage anyways. Crowder goes into these debates, rehearsed on the subject at hand with a book of definitions, against random strangers who didn't expect to debate, "Socialism bad" or "Wall good". If Crowder really wanted to display new ideas and either debunk or evolve them he would debate somebody who is knowledgeable and prepared, but he doesn't. Not David Pakman, or Sam Seder, or even Kyle Kyulinski. He instead just vyes for clicks by tripping strangers up on logical fallacies.
@Polo Loco Alternatively your lord and savior can debate an actually prepared person, such as Sam Seder, David Pakman, Kyle Kyulinski, Shaun, Three Arrows, etc. You're missing the point I'm making in favor of worshipping him.
Americans should be banned from using the word "socialism" until they understand what it means. They seem to think that any kind of free social programs like universal healthcare, or the armed forces are a form of socialism when they really aren't. This kid is more of a social democrat than anything, and he and Crowder haven't discussed anything of substance here. They're essentially discussing the role of government as opposed to any sort of debate about the nature of capitalism or socialism.
Of course, but in America we don't want people to figure out what socialism actually is. Half of the last century was nothing but a propaganda war against any county that attempted to use their wealth for the benefits of the actual people rather than for the endless profits of Wall Street. The results of this are still apparent to some degree even in the younger generation.
I can tell you exactly what socialism will bring you. Getting taxed upp the ass and you get fucking shitty govermental services at ableit lower cost for the population. Country where its almost as affordable to be not working than actual working. Yes socialism is great.
Right at the beginning, the kid wrongly defines it as when the state redistributes wealth. That's social democracy. But, immediately after that, Crowder actually gets it partially right when he defines it as collective or governmental control of the means of distribution or production. They may have wandered away from that definition for the entire rest of the conversation, but for one moment they were actually talking about some form of socialism.
I used to be a fan of Crowder, let's just say this debate forced me to start thinking about the content creators I was watching. I started look through the videos of Crowder, Shapiro, etc. and for the first time in my life I chose to watch these videos as an open minded viewer rather than as a strictly conservative/hella biased viewer. For the first time in my life I had to face the fact that all the issues I had with the left, were just as prominent (and in some areas significantly more so) on the right. Needless to say, that started me down the path of actually challenging the positions I held, and then realizing that I lined up far more with the left (in other words I realized I'm actually a human being who doesn't have a cold heart of stone void of empathy and sympathy) than the right. Just a bit of advice for anyone who is watching this video and thinks that their viewpoints are set in stone, don't. I highly suggest that you challenge your beliefs to see where you stand. I suggest this regardless of what side you lean towards. If you haven't challenged your own beliefs, then you can never be sure if you actually have those beliefs.
Well this kid debating Crowder is actually pretty far right when it comes to social issues. He went on Nick Fuentes show and basically advocated for an ethnostate.
@@charlieday6425 He admits to being vehemently anti-immigration. He is culturally conservative. I think the fact that he chose to only talk to Nick Fuentes directly after this somewhat viral moment says a lot about his politics. I don't think he ever actually uses the word ethnostate, since it's not something a person advocating for an ethnostate would say. But he is definitely not a culturally left leaning whatsoever.
@@yedidyamajor1456 As someone who is right leaning and very much immersed in right wing culture and circles, I can assure you this is not true. Most people, regardless of their political leanings aren't intentionally malicious or cold. Whether you understand it or not, conservativism -as an ideology, is principled and concerned about the well being of others. It just doesn't agree with the left's propositions to tackle these issues. I think it's a lot easier to dismiss people you disagree with as acting in bad faith, than trying to understand how they arrived at these beleifs, and risking having your own assumptions challenged. But honestly, most people are good, or at least want to be good. Once you start writing them off as "heartless" and "cold" due to your own prejudices, you risk becoming heartless yourself.
Just as a Scandinavian, I feel like I have to jump into this comment Crowder made about Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland not having a minimum wage. Because that's such a slimy argument. Yes, we don't have a minimum wage determined by law. It's because we _don't need_ a minimum wage determined by law!!! A McDonald's worker in USA earns 8 dollars an hour. A McDonald's worker in Norway earns 20 dollars an hour. Crowder is such a slimy fuck for not mentioning this. That's more than twice as much! In addition, the Norwegian worker has _far better_ rights; he has the right for parental leaven when having a child(including male workers), he has the right for 6 weeks _paid_ vacation each year, he has progressive taxes meaning he pays _less in tax_ than the American worker, he has free health care, etc. Yes we don't have minimum wage determined by law. But that's because it's the labour unions which determines the wages! The workers has a say in their own wages!!! Why would you need a minimum wage, when the wage is negotiated between workers and employers? The whole Nordic model is based on this, this is the main thing that sets Scandinavia apart from the rest of the world, this is the reason for the Nordic success; we don't even _need_ a minimum wage.
@@bageda3109 My sources says: "After four months training the salary is increased to NOK 156,03 per hour (19,63 USD)." Whether or not that's actually 20 dollar, is something that's up to how strong the Krone is, which is up to how high oil prices are. Now we have low oil prices, so it's more like 18 dollar at the moment, but when I wrote this 1 month ago it was 19.5, and between January and April 2018 it was 21 dollars. Before the fall in oil prices a couple of years ago it was even above that. So it's more a matter of exchange rate than anything else, but I say 20 dollars is reasonable, but if you want to be really specific then "between 18 and 21 dollars" is more correct..
I don't like that he's having people off the street debate him. They are not nearly as debate ready as Crowder and disappointing. One of his last CMM's had a lady who defended her political knowledge by stating she watches FOX and CNN to which Crowder congratulated her on getting a balance. Meanwhile she's getting 100% corporate news. There's people of more intellectual weight Crowder should debate like a certain bestiny we know.
That's the point. He debates low hanging fruit, and destroys them, and his audience laps it up like he's a fucking genius of debate, and proves that Liberals are fucking stupid. Honestly, part of me wished Noam Chomsky or another Leftist of Intellectual weight and power, would take guys like Crowder, Molymeme, Shapiro and Peterson to town. These idiots have no business spouting their bullshit.
Zel's 4K Emulators and Archive yeah, and the fact that he basically has all the cards is kind of annoying. He wants to debate people who are unprepred on hot button issues, ensuring that there will be things said that will cast a negative light on his debate partner. Its like he expects them to come prepared, and if not he can point and laugh later if they get flustered or cought up in the moment, like "haha, look at dumb sjw's being dumb. Lol why can't they just debate well like me." (yes that's verbatem, I totally didn't strawman him at all).
It's pretty obvious that the purpouse of the "Change My Mind" show is to prove that most people don't know what the fuck they are defending, not to prove that his point is correct. He has other shows which purpouse is to debate a point, where he brings supposedly prepared people. Also, no one has to engage in a debate with him if they don't want to. Not being capable of understanding what is the purpouse of something so simple just goes to show that you might be his target audience when doing a change my mind.
zillafire101 "He debates low hanging fruit, and destroys them, and his audience laps it up like he's a fucking genius of debate." TBF, how is Destiny any different?
The entire premise of 'prove me wrong' is that Crowder thinks he can mostly push inexperienced students around verbally and seemingly beat them in an argument. In this case he was a bit of a snowflake, but the other chap could have just said "pure ideology" instead of autism. As if the moral basis for Crowder's world view is very objective to begin with.
Yeah, If the kid picked his words better, I don't even know what Crowder would have done. he wouldn't have had a reason to end the debate and would just continue to get smashed

Evil is a subjective term, but communism is the goal of socialism. Marxism has led to the death, tyranny, divide and murder of hundreds of millions over the course of last century. So people well versed in this fact will most likely call Marxism evil. But killing for some is aok if it fits their idea of posterity . There is no reason to have minimal wage in Norway, or most scandinavian countries because of the welfare state. The state is willing to pay their citizens when they don't work and for businesses to entice a working force they have to pay more than that. That is effectively a dynamic minimal wage, ensure that the minimum wage never drops down below a living wage. On top of that, like Destiny points out. These countries have strong unions that set criteria for minimum wage. You do not even need to be a member of any union to ensure you get the same wage rates. Because companies will want to uphold those standards to entice their employees to not become members of a union. You will see different practices from different businesses, but bigger companies will almost always follow the union rates and such will be stated in their contract.
i am taking criminology and we learned about income inequality and how it increases crime rate and other stuff like immigration decreases crime rate in the community
Stealthy Prime but immigration doesn’t. Immigration adds more strain on the lower and working class I.e the majority of crime takes place within these classes. Don’t know what your professor has been smoking I’m a sociology/criminolofy grad myself. What truly lowers crime is high employment and strong communal bonds. I.E white suburbs. With the exception of white collar crime which is both hard to quantify and in general less likely to happen
Immigration is a huge cause of crime. Not to mention the trust in a society is broken when u have hordes of foreign people, who do not want to contribute.
As a dane I crinched through this Steven Crowder 'debate'. So I really enjoyed the reactions of Destiny. There's just three things that needs to be adressed: 1. We do have minimum wages for people under 18 2. Our prime minister is from the right wing, so people should be aware of his bias when he is saying Denmark isn't socialistic 3. We do indeed have progressive taxes

Throughout my time listening to crowder, I never got why he always thinks socialism is an inherently evil ideology. I’m a capitalist, but I’ve never got why crowder thinks that the idea of socialism is evil when its obviously not
It's actually much worse than just believing socialism is evil. I can completely understand not liking socialism as a system. He's arguing that striving for equality is evil, even though there have been studies that show high rates of inequality correlate with lower standards of living in almost every way between those at the top and those at the bottom. The more unequal society the worse it is.
"Wealthy people cant get rich off people and make them poor." So slavery didn't exist? Slavery is the ultimate capitalist outcome almost 100 percent profit off of workers because they are not paid. Corporations strive to make profit it's what they are started for. They depress wages and costs as much as possible to maximize the money that goes to the owners shareholders and board members. CROWDER WRONG AGAIN.
What the fuck is your point, clown? Like, have you ever heard of pigs advocating for slaughterhouses? Slaves for slavery? People act in their own self-interest. This is basic textbook Marxism.
@Jack Dictatorship of the proletariat, a.k.a. communism. It's considered the second stage of communism, where the first is just called "socialism" and is a sort of intermediary economy where some capitalists are allowed to keep ownership of some stuff alongside a nationalized economy. The thing with the names is confusing even just sticking to Marxist definitions, but much worse when you get "Berners" who think that social democracy is also socialism (it's fuckin' not).

The claim that socialism takes away things away from those who do the labor is so fundamentally dumb. Capitalism is defined by people needing profit. Now for people to make profit of owning things people need to do things with what you own. Now most often the thing that you need that property for is the act of labor itself. People make products or services and then get paid for their work but they per definition don't get paid all of the money because their is profit going to somebody not for doing labor but for owning the means of production. Technically socialism doesn't even mean everybody is treated equally because ones labor could still be considered more valuable or ones need greater meaning one has priority when it comes to certain resources. This isn't somekind of crazy theory this is literally how humans interact naturally. This a fact so fundamental that most fucking companies use the structure of spreading things depended on need. You can argue this doesn't scale well and humans become trash as the group becomes big enough for people not to notice but that doesn't make it evil that just makes it kinda misguided.
socialism doesn't take away things from those who do the labour. Labour has nothing to do with it, it's about value. Steve Jobs didn't do much labour but he was the most valuable employee at apple because the ideas he hatched were extremely profitable and no competitor had better ideas than him. Hence, his value is much higher than the guy who designed the CPU or whatever, there are probably thousands of people who could've done that but there's only one Steve Jobs. Capitalism rewards people with high market value and socialism takes away things from people who create value, not labour.
Im a David Packman Patreon supporter and Im absolutely in love with this game streamer hybrid of political debates. Thank you for these videos Destiny.
Although there is no general minimum wage in Norway, minimum rates of pay have been introduced in certain sectors: Construction sites (for construction workers) The maritime construction industry The agriculture and horticulture sectors Cleaning workers Fish processing enterprises Electricians Freight transport by road Passenger transport by tour bus Hotel, restaurant and catering
Im a libertarian and I want the flow of labor to come from the 40 million unemployed american citizens and not illegal immigrants that greedy corporations can take advantage of.
(5:50) The point about the union market is very true at least here in Sweden. Probably every job I've worked in so far has had a union plan for everything from starting to progressing wages. I was literally handed a book with union rules when I worked in the paper industry, eveything from working hours, paid vacation, parental vacation, everything was clearly stated. Also I believe every working shift unit of around 11 people had one union representative as well as one devoted to security question with both the union and the company. I don't know if this is the norm in america but we also have pretty much unions for university as well (I'm an engineering student). And outside of the union I have regarding university question I'm also connected to another union when it comes to outside questions. Many of my friends who are currently in the army (I dropped out when I started uni) are also members in a specific union only for soldiers and officers... Might seem like a clusterfuck but it's actually really effective. Lastly one point that capitalists wouldn't want mass immigration even though there is a minimum wage I think is not true, there are other things that can be changed with an increased workflow such as competition for the skill of the labours as well as possibly be able to bypass the unions if people get desperate enough for work. This could be all false and if anyone has information on the latter part not being true I would non-ironically like to see that information.
I moved to Uppsala, Sweden 8 years ago and I still cannot fathom how certain issues like gay marriage, free education and universal healthcare on one side are gigantic political issues in the US and on the other side something 99,9% of Swedes just take for granted because there is nobody fighting this. Immigration is a huge political topic right now, tightly followed by the growing housing crisis and a potential Swexit has been talked about more on TV debates but there's literally nobody going "maybe we should look to the US and copy their healthcare model" And the funniest part of it all is that it doesn't even matter if you're right wing or left wing, not even the Christ Democrats (yes, thats one of the parties in parliament) are against gay marriage and not even the Liberals (which are more like Libertarians but not as hardcore, not liberals as in libs) argue against universal healthcare
8:55 So Crowder doesn't want free speech as a right because then the government could take it from you???!?! His reasoning doesn't hold with other rights that he does support
I think the 2nd amendment proves him right, for as long as rights are granted by the government, they can be taken away. If for example a government shut down all private or charter schools, removed voucher programmes and simply had public schools accommodating a catchment area, if you don't like the school you're a tad screwed. It's like as Destiny mentioned ISPs not being a free choice, neither would your childs education, outside of saying "just move".
@@TheBalfrog By his logic, he is against the 2nd amendment because if you don't have the right to bear arms, then the government can't take it away from you.

"Denmark is a socialist country and it's doing great"
"It's not its a capitalist country with strong welfare nets"
"Ok so let's do that"
"No thats socialism"
Yeah but the main reasons those countries can pay for those social welfare programs is A. Great amount of taxation and B. The United states relieves the burden of military spending on a grand scale
@@braydonbryan6901 Danes also have much lower income inequality and higher standards of living
Investing in welfare via considerable taxes makes sense because poor people don't ship it all off into tax-free ISAs. They spend it on goods and create economic movement rather than hoarding wealth
Denmark has recently upped its military by 4.5b kroner, is a NATO member and sent thousands of soldiers to Iraq and Afghan
I think you have a contradiction there also, in the sense that you imply Americans somehow manage to upkeep a gigantic worldwide military complex while simultaneously paying little in tax
Just don't spend more on your military than the rest of the world combined and start spending that shit on bread and homeless shelters
@@thestonedabbot9551 Okay I rly appreciate the response, but I'm confused are you saying that the u.s does not give great relief for European countries helping them pay for social welfare programs?

Can't unionize with there's mass immigration to cut down labor costs
From Basic Economics, by Thomas Sowell:
"Just as businesses seek to have government impose tariffs on imported goods that compete with their own products, so labor unions use minimum wage laws as tariffs to force up the price of non-union labor that competes with their members for jobs."
Union members don't try to impose minimum wage out of altruism, but to benefit THEMSELVES.

That's one of the most crudely unskillful uses of apophasis you'll ever see.
His reliance on the crowd to support him is hilariously pathetic as well.
The kid didn't even call him autistic, he said the line of thinking was somewhat autistic (poor choice of word, in my opinion) but the point is, that he was referring to the fact that people often think of economics in terms of theory, while ignoring how it actually works in real life.

Norwegian here, Destiny is correct on unions. They are an integral part of our labor system, and the representation of workers rights to mobilize into unions is written into law. We have a union organization (LO) that is EXTREMELY well established and represented by numerous political parties (mainly the left parties obviously).
Only the left parties dude
German here….we have BOTH strong unions and a minimum wage. Because something has to cover areas which aren't unionized (ie field workers really don't have much of a representation).

Unions are good until they become political. No union should be able to make donations to political parties, that should be illegal. Unions also shouldn't be allowed to publicly endorse political parties because they end up alienating workers represented by the union.

It's literally a debate thing that has a crowd that backs him up, not an actual open minded discussion.

This kid is more of a social democrat than anything, and he and Crowder haven't discussed anything of substance here. They're essentially discussing the role of government as opposed to any sort of debate about the nature of capitalism or socialism.
wandering wanderer they were establishing to what extent the government controlling and providing a good or service is considered socialism.
If an entire country is banned from saying a word. Who will be the one to enforce that?

Depends on the circumstance. The side you’ll lean towards is obviously based off of the information you have. If the information amount is tiny, less is required to make you switch sides. For example: Maybe you finally figure out the underlying personality of someone in the time span of just a few seconds, and a lot changes, just like that. You piece certain things together in a different way, and so much makes more sense than it did previously. You switch.
It can be extremely impactful. Sad, but at the same time empowering.

I love how defined evil as "immoral" instead of "harmful to society" as if the best definition of immoral isn't "what's harmful to society"
Another way to put it is "Does it promote harmony and fluidity? No? Then it's not good." Chowder's logic is basically "it's bad because it takes things from me." Which is by no means entirely accurate or grounds for something to be "immoral". Otherwise Police seizing property for evidence is "immoral" and "socialist".

Evil is a subjective term, but communism is the goal of socialism. Marxism has led to the death, tyranny, divide and murder of hundreds of millions over the course of last century. So people well versed in this fact will most likely call Marxism evil. But killing for some is aok if it fits their idea of posterity . Hitler would be a perfect example of this, so would Mao and Stalin and Che and Fidel Castro. This is why people are so against leftism. Only the young want it, but the young are less experienced, educated, more likely to be indoctrinated, so its important to try to spread awareness. Trust me, young marxists do not know everything, they have much to learn. After all, I used to be a little leftist.

1. We do have minimum wages for people under 18
2. Our prime minister is from the right wing, so people should be aware of his bias when he is saying Denmark isn't socialistic
3. We do indeed have progressive taxes
Denmark is not "socialistic". It's a capitalist country with a more palatable bribery scheme for the very small, very white proletariat.

He's using loaded language
You didn't earn it tho!!!! (But I thought with true Christian values, no one actually earns anything because it is all God's....but ya know...)
It's actually much worse than just believing socialism is evil. I can completely understand not liking socialism as a system. He's arguing that striving for equality is evil, even though there have been studies that show high rates of inequality correlate with lower standards of living in almost every way between those at the top and those at the bottom. The more unequal society the worse it is.

the kid is right about income inequality even Jordan Peterson said something similar and he gave evidence!(that it causes more crimes n shiit)
Indeed. Data shows income inequality is detrimental in a huge number of ways not only related to crime
It has a huge impact on individual psychology as well as it has been proven that humans compare ourselves in a relative way to others.
C L no doubt, social media definitely exposed that part of our humanity
This misrepresentation of anyone who wants to clamp down on illegal immigration as being against all immigration is such bullshit.

Immigration is a huge political topic right now, tightly followed by the growing housing crisis and a potential Swexit has been talked about more on TV debates but there's literally nobody going "maybe we should look to the US and copy their healthcare model"
And the funniest part of it all is that it doesn't even matter if you're right wing or left wing, not even the Christ Democrats (yes, thats one of the parties in parliament) are against gay marriage and not even the Liberals (which are more like Libertarians but not as hardcore, not liberals as in libs) argue against universal healthcare
