Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One on 10 December 2020, and will come out for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021. The story takes place in Night City, an open world set in the Cyberpunk universe. Players assume the first-person perspective of a customisable mercenary known as V, who can acquire skills in hacking and machinery with options for melee and ranged combat.
Cyberpunk 2077 was developed using the REDengine 4 by a team of around 500 people, exceeding the number that worked on the studio's previous game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015). CD Projekt launched a new division in Wrocław, Poland, and partnered with Digital Scapes, Nvidia, QLOC, and Jali Research to aid the production. Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith was a consultant, and actor Keanu Reeves has a starring role. The original score was led by Marcin Przybyłowicz, featuring the contributions of several licensed artists.
Cyberpunk 2077 received critical acclaim by critics reviewing the PC version, with praise for its narrative, setting, and graphics, although some gameplay elements and technical issues received criticism at launch. - Ігри

Felt more like taking a shit after being constipated for a week for me. Left me with an empty feeling, an asshole with the visual countenance of a cannonball wound and the sensual countenance of a towering inferno, and the question of if it was at all worth the time I spent completing it or even the money it cost me. Which, in the end, it was, if only for the fact I now have the time to beat Yakuza 7.

His Ferrari analogy isnt quiet rigt. Playing this game is more like driving a Ferrari with a steering wheel that disappears randomly for no reason, the engine turns over 30% of the time and the seats are made of cheap plastic and theres no seat belts.
But hey, if you look at the Ferrari from the outside it looks damn good and that's what Cyberpunk is, a really good looking turd.

To be clear, I'm actually enjoying the game quite a lot, but objective mistakes, bugs and issues that dampen players' experience shouldn't be ignored because "oh god, I'm a crybaby!". Imagine if your iPhone crashed once a day, screens wouldn't load or the video player would constantly glitch out. Products with major issues need to be fixed before launch.

@@frogglen6350 Ghost of Tsushima was a broken ass experience for me personally, With many of the same problems people are having with cyberpunk, except all of ghost of tsushimas happened during cutscenes. Funny enough Im running cyberpunk with less glitches then I have fingers (though I know this isnt the case for most people).

My biggest issue was the complete lack of pursuit AI, which is why you experienced the cops not chasing you, because they aren't programmed to pursue in cars. Which leads to my next gripe that the cops literally teleport in because they can't use vehicles.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Cars floating, cars stuck in the ground. I've seen physics with a mind of their own, I've had item pop-ups that got stuck on the screen forever forcing me to reload a save file. All those moments will be fixed in time, like Dark Souls on PC. Time to patch.
And unlike with Dark Souls, Durante doesn't have to fix the game for the developers. They'll do it themselves like with their previous games.

They completely forgot to add on the "rpg" in their rpg.. This, the last minute change to "action adventure game".
And our expectations were a direct result of CDPRs own advertisements, and statements about the game.
If this had the stability/performance/finishedness of Doom Eternal, or even Death Stranding, it would've been my game of the year easily.

@@Texelion3Dprints Wait until you get the cyberware that slows down time every time you get spotted, + upgrade a katana enough to one-shot most enemies. You can decapitate most people in an area before they can even fully point their guns at you.

Thank you! I appreciated this nuanced perspective that doesn't solely criticize the game or ignore its flaws. I just finished it, and it has some of the most beautiful endings I have ever seen. It is an amazing game to me, and I'm glad I gave it a chance.
Buy the GOTY or definitive edition in 2-3 years and you're golden.

@@pedroj3432 I cant agree with SA being more immersive but I would argue it would be GTA IV with graphical mods and mods for weapons and driving. The world for both of these games arent great but the things surrounding the world is very immersive

I wouldn’t say crafting is useless since it actually allows up to craft epic and then legendary versions of unique or names weapons and armor.

Yeah tbh that's really weird. I assumed that was going to be a possibility but was sadly mistaken. I don't know many RPG's coming out these days that don't allow for post start screen customization.
I thought they would add it post-launch like in the Witcher III.
The game is finished, this is the final product. I'm sure they never intended any barber shop or any customization, you are delusional if they intended it to be more than this garbage. They just wanted to sell a half-assed crap, they knew they will be successful no matter what. They built up a reputation after GOG and Witcher games, the hype, the fanbase, saying shit like CDPR are the "rebels" of the game industry and other nonsense circlejerk were all paving their success. Even after releasing a broken mess the big media still rated the game a 9/10 at release. They had absolutely no reason to make a full fledged open world experience when they can get the same profit with a rushed and broken release. At this point CDPR can release literally anything, even a buggy minesweeper clone they will still get high ratings.
@@PatrizzaEatsApizza Nah. Maybe you'd be correct if the game simply launched when they said it would. But it was delayed 3 times amid reports of horrible crunch - a clear red flag in hindsight. The game is not finished. Management just did not want to delay it again and said fuck it. It's obvious after playing for a couple of hours. Part of being "finished" is making sure it's running at a playable frame rate, ironing out obvious game breaking bugs...not only content.
Speaking of which, yes certain things are too hard to fix, like the mediocre AI. But it's easy to add things to the city once you've built it. Look at witcher 3. They not only added barber shops, but also gave us 2 DLC's the size of full length games. 1 of them expanded the existing map even

Plus we’re also forgetting how shitty 2020 has been. It’s one thing to work hard on a game, but it’s *another* thing to do entirely from home! It should also be noted that CD Project Red has recently been quoted as saying “the cost of fixing the game is irrelevant to the important of rebuilding our trust.” Ya hear that? That means CDPR has their priorities straight: they don’t care the cost as long as they fix the game
This is the most honest, best review I've seen on the game. I've played it and can fully agree with everything. It's a masterpiece of story telling and detail with pretty fun but not perfect gameplay and alot of bugs to iron out over the next few updates.
I remember people used to say red dead 2 was so detailed you couldn't go from one area to another without encountering some form of story beat or random event and although that is true its usually something very small like a guy running from prison you can shoot or help or a guy who keeps getting bitten by animals you can save or let die. That's it really. In cyberpunk 2077 I can't get to one side of the city from another without someone ringing me, or a random npc on the street calling me over leading to a quest that could take up to 30mins to complete and is as good as the main campaign
I've spent hours on the outskirt of the city looking at the skyscrapers. It gives me goosebumps every time. The mission in the hotel with Jackie, during my play it was just before down, like sunset sort of.. and the skyscrapers, AVs and everything it's just incredible it's like youre there.

You only interact with Jackie in-game like 1-2 hours or so and his death really hit me. Not like crying or anything close to it but certainly felt bad about his passing and the side quest of helping his mom to make an ofrenda for him was beautiful and heartwarming. Few characters can make you feel like that for them in so little time, bravo CDPR.
i really loved that Misty shows up but feels unwelcome at the ofrenda, and you get the ability to convince her that she's family, and convince Mama Welles that Misty deserves better treatment from her. Even better, if you do that, Mama Welles gives you Jackie's bike (although that could just be the quest reward in general, either way, i felt emotionally rewarded for bringing those two characters together in that time of mourning.) I often find that developers are too afraid of not relying on action as the driving force of the game, but in CP77, i felt more rewarded by almost every dialogue interaction than any fight. the stories told in some of the side quests are some of the best in gaming, period, and yet most people will ignore it because either A, they have a really low attention span or B, just see the flaws in a game that deserves more.
You can say all you want about this game but the voice acting, execution, and sound design is superb. That is if the game isn't glitching like crazy. Unfortunately, this game is near unplayable unless you play on a higher mid range PC or a next gen console.
Yet again it's kind of disturbing how accurately you portrayed my feelings with a review.
I really didn't have much interest in this game before, but it really surprised me when I got it. The visuals are great even if they are broken, the game scratches a lot of itches I didn't know I had, and it honestly has some really mature moments and themes I've never seen in a game.
An unexpected adventure at 15 fps
Yeah, crucifixion quest made me stop the game, make a coffee, light a smoke and think about what happened for 20 minutes straight.

If you ignore the blind hatred from turbo sweatlords, this game is truly something special. Obviously this game has issues (a lot of bugs and inexcusable terrible performance on consoles.)
But other than that this game will definitely be remembered for years.

If you buy something labaled for your system it should be playable. They are no fools as they would lose at least 50% of their preorders at least. So it's easy to release it unfinished and then say you will eventually fix it. Now, get your head out of CDProject Red's ass son.

This is probably one of the more honest reviews out there so far. I truly love the game. Ive put about 100 hours into it. It needs improvements in plenty of places though to make it a truly 'good' game.

Why are people comparing this to no man’s sky? That game’s problems were that it didn’t deliver on the promises the devs made. Bugs were only a secondary problem to the lies. I know people use that game as an example of a studio redeeming themselves and their game but we really need a better example for buggy games that become good over time than no man’s sky

Great job on the review! I was wondering if you were aware of the toggle scanner button, ya see there’s a press to scan and then a toggle scan mode on off which is bound to separate keys. Most people I’ve seen get “stuck” in scanner just accidentally hit the toggle key and didn’t know. I definitely thought it was a bug my first encounter but then I went into my keybinds and found the key to toggle it on and off.

Nice to have a review that puts across my experience of the game and not just wah wah me PS4 no play play.
It reminded me of half life 2 when I comes to the characters behaviors, it made me feel so connected to them.. the level of interactivity is like no other too.
I'd like to imagine the delays were to get this to run on last gen at all.
The game was designed for next gen and pc, having them port it to the last generation of consoles is probably why there were so many delays.

it's operated by hand, but never heard anyone call it a handbrake. You call the left lever the hand clutch too?
@@sunburst8810 and if you've ever ridden a dirtbike you would know that if you pull that handbrake at high speeds you will eat shit. This is because the hand brake only brakes the front wheel. Foot brake is for the back wheel and much better for stopping without smashing your face into whatever terrain you are driving on.

Controlling Geralt feels like shouting at a drunken goat, the animations are a little stiff and it can get a little campy at times(although the camp is great in my opinion). You get used to it and the story makes up for the flaws, but the jank is still noticeable.

Combat is really good. The amount of variety of unique weapons and hacking really is great.
Honestly the hacking in my experience was so much cooler than even Watch Dogs. Literally with just the suicide hack and a good build, you could take out a whole room of bad guys by just hacking once as it would spread through the enemies. I wouldn't even need to walk into the room as I could just hack the cameras!
I really enjoyed the story, specially the endings. The game is not finished for sure but I still have a blast with it and was by far the best game of the year for me

3:45 - "couple of hours" Didn't even go to Konpeki Plaza till I was 45 hours into the game.
I take 20 hours roaming before the hotel heist, so I believe you.
Im not yet even going to the heist until I complete the side missions... that are available.
40 hours before I actually took the first mission to steal the bot... was too busy just exploring the city and killing random gang members as I went.
Done a bunch of gig's though.
Oddly, I have hardly seen any real bugs or glitches with the animations, but then again, I'm not exactly going out of my way to look for them. Pretty smooth experience thus far, that said, I am playing on Very Hard and enjoy the challenge of it.

Mines was New Vegas and KOTOR2 (vanilla copies, not modded or fixed on PC). For me, the game is on par with The Witcher 3 on launch (playable but is hampered by bugs and instability issues). Finally got to the open world being opened (Act 2) and loving my time in Night City so far.

Are you guys delusional? This is nowhere like New Vegas or other Bethesda games. There are bugs, yes but only minor ones. So far I didnt run into a single game or questbreaking bug and I am 50 hours in. Absolutely not comparable. I do however talk about the PC version.
Having 'finished' the game last night (Nomad ending), there's a lot I agree with here, particularly that (even in its current form), it's an experience that's more than the sum of its parts.

They need a game that has a yearly cycle. Where activities and opportunities change over time depending on different in-game dates. Where NPCs like gang members have different operations throughout the year. It's up to you as the player when you intercept them and discoveries are purely opportunistic. When the year is up, the game resets and you can play the 365 days over again with a new character or keep the same one..

The only possible explanation would be if said wine is badly stored, outside, constantly being rainned upon and being shoved around by wild animals.
This game has NOTHING new, it does pretty much NOTHING well (aside from the looks), it's unpolished, overtly short clocking at 20 hours (which is pathetic), the side quests aren't that good, the gigs are procedurally generated trash, the driving is bad, the crafting is broken (and laughlably easy), the gunplay is broken, the dialogue is horrible, the writting is inconsistent.
@B E Tears in the rain is a reference to the original Blade Runner, a great movie that was panned as shit by critics and movie goers when it released, but after a few years became a classic cyberpunk movie recognized for it's brilliance.
Hence why op referenced the line. He's implying the game will become a classic like Blade Runner in the future.

I would argue that typical big budget games like Fallout 76 or No Mans Sky faced so much scrutiny at launch there was no where else to go other than refunds or update, and patch after patch. So I assume if someone buys it next year they will have a better experience.

I heard that people complained about the story of Witcher 3 being too long and they removed around 10h of main story in Cyberpunk accordingly. That montage was playable at some point of development I'm pretty sure, and that's a fucking shame.

Cyberpunk, as much love as it had in it's design, is really just a shining example of where modern gaming design falls apart. Back in '96, you had to ship out a game that you thought was as good as it could be, otherwise your customers were going to be playing a broken game for the rest of it's existence. The industry is more focused on quantity over quality these days, and a good example of that is literal storage. Older games had to be optimized to all hell to fit on whatever card or disc they were to be stored on. There wasn't room for 10 gigs of nipple textures or countless lazy wastes of space, it had to be perfect.
Another way this shines through is crunching. Designers and managers don't just worry about a perfect game anymore, they worry about a decently functional game that they can ship out by release date. The employees, as thus, are overworked, and care less about their work. Noodle has a great video on this, and it's not something only native to cyberpunk, but it's practically an industry standard now.
I'm not sure if we can fix game design, but perhaps if we eradicated release dates, employees would have more focus on pulling out a good game at a healthy pace.

Self aware machines in fiction fascinates me. I loved that delamaire quest with its rogue self aware cabs.

That side quest was the most cliche one in my opinion. The last part was just a drag to me
I couldn't do that quest because I got softlocked by Delamain calling me on the phone and never hanging up. So I tried exploding one of the cars and the quest got canceled but atleast it fixed it, even if Delamain's model showed up in every single phone call from then on.
Just finished that quest, yeah, that was briliant! (Ani)matrix, vibes, maybe Detroit too? Haven´t played that one yet.

I didn't play No Man's Sky, but i hope so as well, i hope that there will be tons of mods for it as well that fixes a lot of the shortcoming, pretty shitty behaviour from the developers tho.

The game breaks without even trying to break it. The story and world have a lot of love behind it though

It's not only the Bugs .Game has bigger problems:
BAD physics,BAD A.I.,Empty roads/streets,Lifeless City,NO minigames,BAD police system,Crap NPCs ,TP when you drive but not when you walk,NO interaction with the world...you can't even sit for a drink in a bar wtf.
That was something I was disappointed with when I went to a strip club 3 hours into the game...

The stuck in scanning might not have been a bug. Holding shift brings up scan, but pressing capslocks puts you in scan until you press it agian, as a toggle. Actually quite nice, but the first time I did it I thought I was bugged too.
What's a little upsetting is that beneath all those bugs and glitches, there's a fucking awesome game in there. I just hope that cdpr fixes it as soon as possible

Whoa my man, great review, but Crafting can be frikkin awesome. If got Trinitys leatherjacket which has only 77 Armor base but gives me 800+ through all the armadillo mods i put into it. In addition i crafted my own sniper rifle, Ajax machinegun and i keep upgrading my gear constantly. All on hard difficulty on the first playthrough and its frikkin awesome. My character build is also not one skill only but into nearly everything except hacking and netrunnig. Aaand all my 4 bully mods give me an insane crit damage. Sniper rifle can do about 40k dmg.
Eh, I'll probably pick it up as a GOTY for a tenner in 4-5 years when it's as fixed and polished as it'll get. Looking at this doesn't really cause me any fear of missing out on anything.
Finally a review that accurately covers the game.. if you go to other channels it's just people complaining about glitches and poor AI.
@@SolidRaiden2655 That wouldn't even be accurate. You got the main quests and then the side quests are basically main quests too, and then gigs are basically what side quests generally would be. And then you got cyberpsycho's to hunt which is like an extra thing on it's own. Point being there's a lot of freedom as to what you can do with the content given.

you...you are probably the best man to review this game and this is probably the best and most objective review i have seen, i agree with 90% of the stuff you said, especially the lack of romance options, and the feel of conversations and characters. About the difficulty, im playing it on very hard and honestly seems easy to me, but it might be because im playing with the mantis blades and it one shots or stagger most enemies with massive crits and damage.
All in all i love this game, it has all the problems you mentioned and then some, and yet it is one of 2020' best.

Kinda funny that you mentioned the performance, I only have a laptop for now (Ryzen 4600, GTX 1650) and I wasn't expecting this to even be playable at all, but it seems to do fine for me on about medium settings.
