Thanks for this video. I would shrink tube the wire insulation to the ring terminal, then shrink tube, or what I prefer, wrap tape around end of split loom to shrink tube. Shrink tube isolates wire from weather, split loom protects from abrasion.
Excellent video guy's I agree with you . Theirs to many people who are taking the lazy way out to mounting fuse holders . This is probably one of the many reasons why so many basshead's car and trucks are catching fire . Thank you for making this video and sharing it on UA-cam much love and respect for you brother
Awesome work gents! I really enjoy your content and always learn something new to better the installs in my own cars. I really like the attention to the small details. I particularly like one of the 911 videos you did the other day. All the best. 👍
Dean, Good luck on the Installer award. I voted for you the other day. I was curious on your thoughts about using a circuit breaker instead of a fuse? If a breaker was to be used would you use the same amp rating or use a lower amp rating? In my case I have a Kicker KXA1200.1 ran with 1/0 OFC approximately 15' long with a 150 amp fuse.
Great video! One thing I was taught is loom or cover with snakeskin or other preferred method from fuse holder back, but from battery to fuse holder not to cover it with loom. I'm not sure why exactly...maybe so if anything happened to wire it's not hidden under loom. Have you guys heard of that?
+Casey Cross yes SoundMan does it the same way as that. I believe Ford used to do it that from the factory. We kind of just try copy what's in the car.
do you answer question? my battery has a really small bolt. its a lot smaller than this one. can i run my 4AWG or does the size of the screw / ring terminals matter?! pls
quick question. I'm running 4 gauge wire that will go into a distribution block and distribute my power into 4 gauge and 8 gauge for a Mono and 4 channel amp. The block is fused and I'm putting a 100a mini ANL on the 4 gauge, and an 80a mini ANL on the 8 gauge. What size fuse do I use for the main 4 gauge? 180a?
Such an awesome video, really informative, but i have a question. Do i have to put a fuse holder to each amp? I have 2 amplifiers, 1 is an Alpine PDX with onboard fuses and the other one is a JL Audio HD.
Dean, I know this is an old video but very helpful. When looking for the right ABS plastic is there something I should be sure to search for so it's tolerant to the heat in the engine bay?
I love your videos! I saw your other video regarding 4 awg wire and connecting to amplifiers. I ordered ferrules and I'm planning on rewiring my connections to my amplifier on my current install that I have been picking away at. I have yet to mount the fuse or wire anything to make it life because I'm planning on replacing battery terminals. What do you recommend I use ferrules for the fuse holder? Also do you have any recommendations for what style of battery terminal I should use? Keep up the amazing videos! I love how clean the installations are and how well you two work together.
Love your videos. I have a question so I need to replace my fuse holder and it had 60 amp fuse. Looking at a kicker fuse holder and states holds a 100 amp fuse. Should I get a 60 amp fuse or use the 100amp one? Does it make a difference?
Five Star Car Stereo, got a question in this installation video of the inline battery fuse holder what size fuse would you normally use for this amp install? I'm installing 2 amps for my stereo setup one is an Alpine 4 channel 600 watt amp that will run my front door and rear speakers and the other is a Alpine 700 watt mono amp for running one 12" sub, would it be advisable to use an inline 300 amp ANL style fuse for the battery fuse holder? I want to use a mini ANL style inline fuse holder to save space.
I don't have a 4-gauge crimp tool. Could I use a set-screw ring terminal with a ferrule at the battery and use a ferrule with the fuse holder also? Hate to buy a big crimp tool for just the battery and fuse holder connection.
whats the safest way to change out a fuse holder. mine melted and im replacing it with a more expensive anl fuse holder. other then have car off is there anything else I need to do because it is the second battery one I am changing - how do i keep from being shocked-
Very very clean, as always, you two shoud do a video about how to calculate the fuse for the wire if you run a non standard kit with a fuse and you have to add it by yourself, greetings from Argentina!
What fuel line? Are you talking about the grey metal line that has a black cap with an H on it? If so that is not a fuel line. It is the high side line for the A/C. Granted I wouldn't have mounted the fuse and ran the wire that close due to that line gets extremely hot. He didn't have many options but it would of been nice to see the bracket dropped down some or had some sort heat shield made onto the fuse bracket.
would love to purchase a connector at the positive battery terminal that splits of 2 wires one for car, one to power the 2 amps in truck- is 4 gauge wire ok- my last install as a noob 10 years ago used 1 gauge from battery to trunk amp, drilled with great grief thru floorboard of Q45- really inflexible thick 1 gauge - still have that old 1 gauge wire when i removed system after a undiscovered leak which brought moisture into trunk. now i have 2014 mustang, jl audio xd700/5v2 4 ch amp, jl audio stealthbox w 13 inch woofer in trunk, also have 2 kenwood xr-1S mono subwoofer amps- should I use on of those to the subwoofer jl audio 13inch stealthbox- have used anyting since pulled 8 years ago- been stored in dry bedroomn closed since
I’m truly inspired and well informed thru the content of your videos. Thank you! My previous thought to topic- multiple batteries; I thought you needed a isolator to do so? I’ve been seeing videos where people just hook up the batteries in series I think- thanks
+vietcong4u that is up to you. Personally I'm not a fan of breakers. I had a bad experience. We talked about it on the Facebook live tonight. Check out the replay
A reason some self installers don’t scrèw the fuse holders down is because they’re unsure if it’s ok to drill and screw in certain areas. All the more reason to get a pro to do it.
I paid 1700 for my system with installation included everything sounds good and all but they decided to just throw my fuse on top of my coolant tank like wtf and they decided to put a box that they had laying around to put my sub in and my seat dont probably go down and its smashing my 400 dollar sub. Now I gotta pay another 375 to get a custom box made.
I did mine with epoxy on top of the fuse box. It looks like the crack head from down the street did it (just because I made a bit of a mess with the epoxy) but it’s mounted. 👌 🥴
You guys just keep on delivering. The industry needs more like you. Perfection guys!!
Clint L dam i wish i lived close to you guys. Another great video. I always learn so much.
+Clint L thanks, that is very kind.
+DigitalErra 👍thanks!
You would have my vehicle if I lived in FL!
That's the cleanest wiring job I've seen sir.
Good info, I dig the foresight about placement. Thinking about what the next guy might have to do is a sign of a real professional. 👍
+Dave Peck thank you, we try.
Vids like this is why I came to the channel! Thank you
Thanks for this video.

Defiantly love the quality of your workmanship!
+CarPhonix CarAudio thanks man, congratulations on almost hitting 10,000
Thats great, that gave me an idea how to mount my fuse holder better, great video.
I always enjoy watching you guys do the quality work you do.
Tim datoolman thanks Tim and thanks for checking out the Live show.
always seem to amaze me! always finding new ways to make a install even better
+Angel Garcia glad we can help

Could you run 2 of those? 1 close to the battery & 1 close to the amp?
If you do a top 5 video install recap. I would make this number 1. " This is a great video"
do you answer question? my battery has a really small bolt. its a lot smaller than this one. can i run my 4AWG or does the size of the screw / ring terminals matter?! pls
Did you use an existing hole in the passenger side firewall on that Titan, if so, where exactly is it located? Thanks!
Five Star Car Stereo, also you're using a 4 gauge power wire inline fuse setup by the battery in this video?
Excellent video. Good job guy’s.👍
I wish my installers did the same thing, I can’t get to my air filter cause it’s zip tied to it.

Is it worth using ferrules inside the fuse holder for a more secure fix?
How do you run power line through the firewall of a 2013 Hyundai tucson gls

What type of screws do you use to mount to the ABS (i.e. to fasten the fuse holder, amps, etc)? Thanks.
Wish u guys were in so cal. I would most definitely have u guys work on my cars. But im also thinking if taking my truck to you guys in florida.
Love your videos. I have a question so I need to replace my fuse holder and it had 60 amp fuse. Looking at a kicker fuse holder and states holds a 100 amp fuse. Should I get a 60 amp fuse or use the 100amp one? Does it make a difference?

Hi can you tell me best amplifier installation kit
I’m glad that I watched this my battery terminals are like that with the fuses

Z Hedge yeah that would work. We used those all the time back in the evening had to be gold days.
Where would you mount your fuse holder in a 2015 Kia Optima
What is the fuse rating on that fuse and what size is the wire? It looks like #00 Awg. Not sure.
I like to see more, more" installs I like this stuff great job guy's. ☺

+J Will thank you very much
I sure wish stereo shops over here around winter haven fl would do installs like that they just leave everything hanging
would you mount the fuse holder next to the glove box
Very very clean, as always, you two shoud do a video about how to calculate the fuse for the wire if you run a non standard kit with a fuse and you have to add it by yourself, greetings from Argentina!
+Clemente Fiorucci sounds good I will add it to the list, thank you
Five Star Car Stereo thank you!
Didn't realize ABS was easily available in small quantities on Amazon. Awesome!
Casey Friday, I just got a piece from Amazon. 12"X12"x1/8" I wanted the 1/4" but it wasn't available at the time.
+Casey Friday yeah they have some crazy stuff.
Mount the fuse next to a fuel line.

What can I do if I broke the plastic pieces in my dash and the new dash kid won't clip in
+Ramon Quintanilla what car?
Buy a new car.
I like to use breaker boxes
Why not use a Ferrell on the wire in the fuse holder
Dean should legally change his name to professor... he is very smart!
what about velcro instead of double sided tape
ProneToInfection that is a better idea for sure
Thanks for tutorial.. Nice job. (y)

Nice video. But I don't do Facebook.
Sweet
I can imagine the fuse block always go on the positive/ red cables didn’t say but sure looks like it. But ok video.
I want the Fosgate one that he's wearing Fosgate with the American flag love it.
I put mine dangling near the fan.. ya know.. to keep it cool..😂
I did mine with epoxy on top of the fuse box. It looks like the crack head from down the street did it (just because I made a bit of a mess with the epoxy) but it’s mounted. 👌 🥴
Hey yo, I do some beautiful, solid audio installs. But boy that rocks some good stuff huh! 😉
wouldn't it be smarter top put the fuse a little past the firewall? So it doesnt melt?
I just screwed mine into the battery handle
seen people that mount it in the trunk 😂😂
+slotec all the time.
"Indention"... hmm.. 🤔..
..
Its tech flex not temp flex
Velcro
What if my inline fuse broke when bass was turned up?
