I was convinced this show and “Sherlock Holmes In The 22nd Century” were made up in a fever dream as a child, but I’m glad so many people are talking about this show again!

gosh, that Rob Paulsen ted talk made me cry, what a genuine dude! also, I did not know he did the mask animated, so that was new trivia for me.
I wish we could have gotten a crossover event with The Mask and Jackie Chan Adventures.
"Jackie Chan Adventures" kinda already had that with the "Monkey King" episodes
The stories of the animated series of the Mask were not fantastic, they were pretty classic, and few of them were lame. The series was TOTALLY saved by the character of the Mask! His craziness and his fabulous humor made me laugh a lot! And yes, Rob Paulsen was excellent in the role of Stanley Ipkiss/The Mask!
It was as forgettable as Robocop's cartoon was for me. The 90's had too many good cartoons to rank this remotely high. But I was an '89 kid who watched all these cartoons before school and maybe I didn't get the humor.
@@TyyTheFlyGuy , yes, the cartoon of the Mask was certainly not a masterpiece or excellent... But for me It was a decent animated séries, it was pretty funny and I Liked it. I was born in 1979 and I was a teenager when the cartoon of the Mask first aired: the gags and the jokes of the Mask made me laugh. Even tough, I'd rather the movie with Jim Carrey which is funnier or the original comics which are darker and really fascinating...
@@TyyTheFlyGuy the show is watchable and some episodes actually are quite good. Overall, other than some certain episodes, the show isn't really worth watching unless you watch it because of nostalgia.
The Voice Actor i def miss the most is Tony Jay. The immense gravity of his voice, along side his amazing flare for understated (or over the top) comedy was amazing.
What about Mr. Blank who literally voiced every Looney Tunes character.

I would also love to know more about Ace Ventura: The Series, not a lot of people know that this series exists. I also remember watching this show growing, not Dumb and Dumber though.... it doesn't look all that good since it only lasted for one season with 13 episodes.

Rob Paulson was such a staple of my childhood, Ralph from Ninja Turtles, Throttle from Biker Mice, Yakko from Animaniacs... I could keep going on, but seriously Rob Paulson is a hero of mine.

I remember getting the vhs for this cartoon, I really loved it, and so did my dad. But I think the one that really got the two of us hooked, was Animaniacs when I saw it on Kids WB back in 96 lol. I also remember playing that SNES game when I rented it at a video story lol.

I keep saying how voice actors are WAY underappreciated. They have amazing talents that movie and singers could never reach. I don't want to watch a movie featuring the vlice of Zac Efron or Justin Timberlake.
I agree with you for the most part, but in my opinion Justin Timberlake actually did a good job voicing Booboo in the live-action Yogi Bear movie.
Rob Paulsen is the sweetest and funniest person I’ve ever met.

Man I was obsessed with The Mask as a kid, had a ton of toys. One of the best and funniest animated series ever made. The humor on It still works today.
As soon as you said Rob Paulsen was the voice, I instantly thought: "Well, yeah. At least ONE of Rob's performances HAS to be the greatest VO work of all time.
It speaks leagues that I watched this AND Animanicas as a kid but never knew they were the same person at the time!
Favorite voice actors? I definitely have to say Rob Paulsen and Frank Welker of today, but a lot of classics are pretty much ignored now.... Well except maybe Mel Blanc. My list would include these actresses:

I never read the original comics of the Mask but after seeing a few screenshots of it I’m glad they made a new version of The Mask based on the movie and TV series, because the only version of the mask I have known was the Jim Carry version. The Mask movie came out before I was born, but it instantly became favorite as kid and even more so as grew up because there are scenes I never understood or noticed as a kid. For example the balloon scene and the part where the mask shoved two large car parts into the two car mechanic guy’s you know where😓. I’m also a fan of old cartoons like Tom and Jerry, I enjoy the classic slapstick comedy which is why I find The Mask movie enjoyable.
Edit: I’m the type who likes to write long detailed comments from time to time.

I watch those as a kid
I grew up with cartoons, Saturday morning and matinee previews were some of the best Warner Brother and Tex Avery cartoons. Mel Blanc to me was the greatest. Frank Welker and Casey Kasem were Shaggy and Scoob. I didn't know the people behind the characters I knew the characters, their flaws, backstory, fears, and dreams. Later I saw more cartoons, animated movies, and anime. In my teens I was introduced to Batman The Animated Series and Superman.When I read a DC graphic novel I hear Kevin Conroy. Where my parents saw children's shows I saw lives, without the voice narration and range of emotion these 2D ink and paint creations became icons.

I want more new The Mask comics and cartoon series.
I agree that voice actors don't get enough recognition. I know several people who have no idea who Scott McNeil is even though I know they've heard his voice before several times. However the reason that people don't get as worked up over the casting for voice roles as they do live action roles is because they don't actually care about the person's acting. It's how the actor LOOKS that people get worked up over. In a voice role it doesn't matter if an actor looks like the character they're playing or not cause they're just going to be providing a voice to an animated character. We trust than any actor cast to play a role has the talent to play the part. That's why people get more worked up over the design of an animated character than who's doing the voice because we're really just talking about do they look like the character not can they act because we already assume they can.
Even actors who are well known for on screen roles like Mark Hamil, Leonard Nimoy, Hugo Weaving, or Tim Curry aren't talked about as much for their voice roles. Doesn't mean we don't know about their voice roles. People would probably hate the idea of Mark Hamil as the Joker in live action not because they don't know that he's already voiced the Joker for years but because he doesn't LOOK like the character and while he's hands down the best Joker voice actor it wouldn't be the same having him in live action with the make up on actually playing the role. Kevin Conroy was able to do both partly because he was playing an older Bruce Wayne anyway and he does sort of look like the character but I can't picture Mark playing the Joker in live action.
Ironically Mark Hamil has played a different DC villain in live action, the Trickster... and that's about as close to a live action Joker he's going to get.
Scott McNeil even admits that while he's played Wolverine several times in cartoons he's no Huge Jackman and could never play Wolverine in real life. In fact he really couldn't play ANY super hero in real life. Scott McNeil has done a few on screen roles but they're usually small bit parts... or Bonesteel in Ninja Turtles Next Mutation... but he's most well known for his animated roles where he can go crazy and isn't limited by his physical limitations. He was also on episode of Supernatural where he wasn't even in costume he just got to wear what he would normally wear anyway and got killed in a trailer park in the first 5 minutes of the episode he was in. He was on Psyche where he was also dead and spent most of the episode as a corps-icle except for a few flash backs while they try to solve his murder. And I think he also wore his own cloths for that too. He has a very unique sense of style and I think that tends to get him type cast whenever he's not doing voice work even though he actually started out in theater doing Hamlet. He can be more than just the crazy voice guy but I still love that he is the crazy voice guy.

My favorite and my childhood time. Of a cartoon show Transformer g1 peter Cullen he deserve recognition of he voice of prime not alway talking honor. But a bit fun. But he was my hero. Of my childhood.
