We started on denial (the guild test result) and anger (calling Kathleen thief and when Adam got Golgari twice) in the last episode. Now was (sort of) bargaining (starting with the new guild test, to the nosebleed, to the desire of the U/B deck in draft now) and straight to depression (when telling the tale of the boros terror in FNM) and acceptance (showing the deck he played). The trip is complete, in a way; but i expect some relapses in between.
Wow, you guys absolutely nailed this! The punchlines were all clever, funny, and completely in the spirit of TZ. Writing, acting, shooting, editing, all top notch. Glad you guys still make Friday Nights! (...I think?)
So Ben sparked and became a planeswalker, Cam is a true Dimir agent that got his memory wiped, and I'm still stuck on the opening scene beyond James gets the lucky top-deck. TBH though I think most of my Commander group has those momentary blackouts whenever anyone casts Cylconic Rift.
@@phlog_dog7336 I'm two months late and a dollar short, but I'll elaborate slightly since I've seen an episode or two. The Twilight Zone is an old series where a person is usually stuck in a problem/world that turns out bad for them usually. For example, a man was able to control time with a clock, and after a while, it broke and the entire world was stuck in time. The man, however, was locked in that world, being able to walk around as if time was flowing properly for him only. This is probably the most generic example in the show, but it's the only one I can remember.
: You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension - a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Exile Zone!
You are all brilliant! These are so good, after that line about Cam being the monster all along I laughed harder than I have in a long time. Thank you for this!
This is amazing!!! My mother and I would watch twilight zone together, that is something that we share is our nerdy taste in movies and shows. She doesn’t completely understand magic but I have to show her this. Thank you guys this was great!
In my opinion that was definetly the best Friday Nights episodes produced- and even one of the best things LRR has done overall. Wow... very impressed right now.
Oh my God you guys! This was an unbelievably fantastic homage to one of the greatest television programs of all time! I hope young people who watch this are intrigued and find out all about the Twilight Zone if they don't already know. I actually got chills watching this episode. Great job!
The narration is so spot on in writing and delivery. I love it “… a severe trauma can allow Us to walk these myriad planes” severe trauma is how I would describe getting cyclonic rifted Reminds me of the House episode where a kid got dizzy and lightheaded then passed out in a calculus test and house is like “that is how calculus generally presents”
Spoopy planeswalking in the Exile Zone!!! Stare into the blind eternities and consider how 'a severe trauma can allow some to walk across.' Adams part is really good if/when you watch it a second time. Graham delivered a great style of narration and I loved the writing. (It even took me a while to remember that deafening clarion has two modes.)
It's hard to point to a "best" anything LRR has done, but this is by far and remains one of the best Friday Nights executed. Such a devoted tribute to the Twilight Zone / Outer Limits was never seen before in comedy!
I had to rewatch the Twilight Zone intros to see which parts the cards sync up to. What's brilliant is that it references both intros. I would almost kill for you guys to make a spin-off of video game/magic related Twilight Zone shows.
Holy shit that was spot on. Good writing and acting and such, as usual, but Graham's Rod Serling impression (and that extremely crisp suit, WOW) are what made this impeccable. Like, holy shit, you NAILED the slightly other-worldy enunciation and tempo. Blown away.
I've been watching friday nights from the start, been a huge fan of LRR! I LOVE THIS EPISODE, and sad it's a halloween gag. because they nailed the twilight zone feel, and i want more!!!!
I think they were doing them for/with WotC but that ended and they were going to get it going again, and now 3 years later I'm responding and there's been a pandemic for some 2 years.
"He cast Cyclonic Rift and you blacked out."
Idk, pretty normal reaction to rift resolving imo.
Yeah.
Especially when you are playing token swarms.
Not gonna lie, was waiting for somebody to acknowledge Graham at some point during his Exile Zone monologues. Really clever episode guys.
It's probably more meta that they didn't if we're being real here.
They did
Chandroid but they did
@@pootisgods I guess some people don't watch the stinger at the end...
Awesome! Great writing, acting, and editing all around. Even the intro music was spot on
"Where's all the Magic!?!"
"Inside us all along?..."
I loved that line.
I hated it!
Nah, it was great.
Benjamin Williams it’s really weird hearing my name every time he shows up. It’s pretty uncommon for a first name
Ben Williams: Pick up your tokens Ben.
"Alex used to make magic tricks with cards..." Man, that's a gift to the old old fans.
I look forward to more of Cameron's dark descent into Boros.
We started on denial (the guild test result) and anger (calling Kathleen thief and when Adam got Golgari twice) in the last episode. This is, without a doubt, my favorite episode ever.
Pick up your tokens, Ben...
Sounds like when someone wipes my board when i play Brudiclad.
It would be more accurate if i was named Ben tho.
HEY! Ben is now a Planeswalker! Ty Paul for traumatizing him.
Can I play Ben as my Commander?
It wasn't Traumatize, it wa Cyclonic Rift. Get it right.
Ben appears as a planeswalker in war of the spark
So Ben got his spark, good for him. Hopefully he can walk over to a plane with no allergens.
@@TheJaggedHero You cannot play planeswalkers as your commander unless it has "This planeswalker can be your commander".
"I cast Cyclonic Rift, and you blacked out."
To be fair, thats what usually happens.
Oh my god these guys are killing it.
No they're exileing it
Wow, you guys absolutely nailed this! The punchlines were all clever, funny, and completely in the spirit of TZ. Writing, acting, shooting, editing, all top notch. Glad you guys still make Friday Nights! (...I think?)
How can you make a "Friday Nights"? One happens every week, you're speaking gibberish!
Brilliant episode all round, but special mention to Graham's spot-on delivery.
Basically he forgot they were on game 2 with Cathleen up 1, James won but celebrated too early thinking the match was over
This was great. The setup and conundrums are very much like the old show. Rod Serling would be proud.
I've really been digging these super high-concept Friday Nights episodes. By all means, keep it up!
I really really need more exile zone. This was spot on perfect and I love the twighlight zone too this was just brilliant! Happy Halloween everyone!
The Raw Deal singles in the Yellow Jacket case is just such a... beautiful, beautiful detail.
That's what those are! I was trying to figure out what game it is
remember that you can get out of the exile zone with procesor cards!
You can only get OTHERS out of the exile zone with those! Riftsweeper, on the other hand... ;)
Pull from Eternity is the cheapest.
The eldrazi are truly eldritch creatures, they can manipulate the exile zone in many unforeseen ways.
Or by being Misthollow Griffin.
@@DeviltoGeorgia34 or Squee
this and the card POV episode are by far my favorite.
THE TWILIGHT ZONE ON HALLOWEEN?! DONT MIND IF I DO!
Don't forget about the Twilight Zone reboot coming out too
@@CasualKing21 wait what?

Raphael Do not attempt to untap your lands. We control the upkeep step. We control the discard step.
I suppose that part was referenced in door to nothingness
I really liked Adam delivery. Something seems off, and then after the reveal of Cam's deck you rewatch Adam's comments and it's makes sense.
Like, I rebinge all of Friday Nights every year or so, this may be the first episode I rewatch immediately
THIS WAS SUCH A COOL CONCEPT! LRR BE PROUD!
You are all brilliant! These are so good, after that line about Cam being the monster all along I laughed harder than I have in a long time. Thank you for this!
After that line I rewatched Adam's part again!
I had a great deal of admiration, respect, and fondness for Rod Serling and his work, and you paid him excellent tribute here. Thank you.
I don't know how anyone could keep a straight face while Graham did the monologues. Y'all need to win some Oscars.

Happy Halloween to you too.

The Boros bit was incredible. I loved the writing in that one. Hands down my favorite episode thus far.
I... I hate how I relate to Cameron in this one
Oh man! Graham has that narrator voice down! Great episode! I don’t even play magic but I always enjoy these!
This was really excellent. You guys have been crushing it with this series of Friday Nights. Can't wait for what's next.
"What can be done when you can't accept that the real monster was you all along?" is a surprisingly deep line.
This is honestly some of the best produced content on UA-cam. You guys nailed it again.
As a huge fan of the old twilight zone episodes, I thought you guys did an excellent job with the more short form versions of the concept. Bravo.
This is my personal favorite Friday nights. It is so well written!

seems like we need to coax something from the blind eternities
or Pull it from Eternity.
Um first we need a time machine to do that. Or a flashback mtgo draft
Well, time to go show my support for this awesome video on every platform possible.
Fantastic! You guys are really knocking it out the park with all you recent episodes

This is quite possibly the best video to ever grace UA-cam.
Honestly, the part inside YJ starting when Nelson said "Pick up your tokens, Ben" was so well shot it was actually pretty spooky to me.

The theme for this episode is 10/10 love you guys I've watched every Friday nights
This video is a masterpiece, truly a work of art.

This is the best Friday Night's episode not close. Incredible work guys.
This was genuinely scary and freaked me out a little.

I'll be honest, I knew there had to be a Bump in the Night joke somewhere, but I didn't expect them to snap it off that early.
I giggled profusely when that was the last card to hit the stack. :D

That was so well done! Awesome stuff and a standing ovation from me.
That was awesome and really well done. brought back some good memories of watching the whole series with my cousin

I also really appreciate the "scary" cards at the beginning. You can almost guess which person chose which card.
The artwork for the cards they chose references the title sequence for Twilight Zone
This was an excellent concept for a skit, id love to see more like this!
this was actually unsettling but also very funny, which made it more spooky
I absolutely loved this episode so well done!
Still love the 'MnM mini's as bird short' episode from years back, but this might be my new favorite Friday Nights Halloween episode.
