@@KingBobXVI No, the original Steppe Lynx encounter was traumatic enough to ignite his spark. that's why the Timewalk worked for him after Jer gave it over. Jer's spark in turn was ignited in the cH episode Critical, but he did not immediately planeshift, so he didn't realize until It's Magic.
Remember that a spark can ignite not just from trauma, but from pure elation, like with Samut. I wouldn't be surprised if the realization he finally killed the Lynx was so euphoric that it ignited him.

Ah, I figured out the joke with Beej's sorting method. Magic is made an US company, and many of its players are American, so most Magic players are used to their conventions, and would expect the gray cards to be sorted _before_ the green cards, and would be completely thrown off by Beej's Commonwealth-spelling sorting order!
@@tristanyokom1542 Isn't WUBRG, the sorting isn't redeemed by cards "alphabetically" being A-Z within each colour, within the larger WUBRG order (rather the colours themselves are alphabetized), and a few other things. Basically, every "proper" means of sorting even with different opinions on what those are is still totally out the window. It also helps the joke I think that IRL Beej from a mix of osmosis and working tech/computer for North 100 and some of the other MtG related stuff is getting a lot better with his Magic knowledge.
I think the intros change yearly and they've only been in friday nights for the latter half of the year, so they'll probably be in the intro next year with an updated cast last
We just need to wait till a new printing of Alex is in a new set. Our old one will be legal again then! Just hope it's not a standard with Steppe Lynx...

This whole episode is a beautiful piece of work. The Timewalk, Alex's triumph, and the rebirth of the Great Amorphous Card collection. Adam is so funny oh my god, he and Ben are a magnificent comedy tag team. And that stinger; so elegant

Ash Sperry as I remember it Alex decided to take a step back from the spotlight a bit earlier this year to focus on other projects. He’s still appearing in LRR stuff (mostly Watch and Play and North100) and I believe he’s still working behind the scenes on stuff. He has a comic that he’s about to launch as well.

Mattias Isaksson It’s a bit confusing that apparently the Friday Nights canon is now independent from the Commodore Hustle canon, despite growing out of it (“It’s Magic”, while technically a CH episode, is widely considered the origin and effectively the first episode of Friday Nights; in fact it’s referenced in this episode). In CH (and real life) Adam has been friends with the crew for years; he features prominently in Season 1 which aired mostly in 2009. This new episode directly contradicts that. I’m not sure how I feel about it.

I just realized how terrible beejs sorting method is. Collectors number goes by wubrg and then alphabetical so most of the time if two cards from different sets have the same number it’s probably the same color
