Amazing video. I have so much respect for what you do for the community. 3D Art has been gatekeeped for so long but you’re one of the few people who puts a serious amount of effort to teach people around the world, all for free. You’re a saint and an incredibly talented artist mate.
Thank you so much Inazuchi! It makes me incredibly happy to read feedback like this. I truly enjoy teaching so I'm happy that you appreciate my efforts.
Amazing breakdown per usual. Appreciate you putting so much time and effort into these breakdowns for the community; it shows. Keep it up man killing it.
No problem buddy, thanks for watching. Yup MP4 works :) It just has less flexibility than a PNG image sequence since you can't adjust the size of the video on the uv (xyz) scale BUT it's still awesome that u can just import a mp4 directly.
@@TravisDavids Sure it is... I've noticed that if you plug first a _Uvx Transform_ node before the mp4 link you can actually adjust video's UV inside Octane material.
Thank you for watching the video Mickey appreciate it. Yup Powerpose is overlooked in Daz Studio but I think it's the easiest and best way to actually pose a character in the program.
@@TravisDavids i currently watch most of the videos because of creating some people with cloth and animation :) have u ever thought of a new workflow with Houdini involved? greetings from germany :)
bru that was a good one. i think the strongest pull to using c4d is octane, but unless you make money in the industry its a heavy price to pay. but i working on a chloe model in blender. if i knew daz had one for sale i would of saved my self so much trouble. but sick walk through. its on the cusp of being to real it looks fake.. if that makes sense. didnt even notice the intro clip at the bottom right....show off LOL
My maaaan! You're the best! Awesome work as always. I always tend to use daz 3d characters with c4d+octane, and always daz bridge or .fbx files gets messed up no matter what. I didn't know collada can save some of that issues.
Travis, amazing video. Ready to dive in armed with some insights. New to Daz and the bake animation must be what I’m missing. Interested to know how you get hair into c4d too.
My pleasure. Hair honestly needs it's own tutorial, I actually don't cover hair in this tutorial, only the eyelashes and eyebrows and i talk about a common opacity issue with the material when you use collada. This isn't extremely in-depth.
daz have a good bridge for this. but it exports to maya and blender. there are 3rd party scripts but even using the maya or blender bridge you can get the FBX file out with textures/baked animation and morphs etc
Bro you tutorials are amazing! I have a bit of a tough one for you. Marvellous to Unreal 5. But the garment is animated. This can or can not have the avatar attached. I tried using ABC files (which worked only once..barely). I’d love this tutorial coz it’d save so much render time
Yup! :) It's awesome! The image sequence however has more flexibility, you have access to the UV section so u can adjust the scale, you can't do that with a MP4 ( at least from what i've noticed unless I'm doing something wrong) BUT it's cool that u can just import a video directly and use it as a material.
Thanks for the tut! Maybe someone's run into this, but both FBX & COLLADA files won't import to C4D. Shows loading for 5 min and nothing :( Export settings are identical in Daz to what's shown here. Anyone know a fix?
Figured it out - I guess the hair data was too large for the character I was using. Once I removed the hair inside of Daz3D and exported the COLLADA file, it imported into C4D without a hitch. Thanks again Travis, you're the man!

Thank you so much for the awesome words Matty!
sooooo happy to see you back
i hope that in this tutorial i will learn how to fix the issue with the eyes
Thank you so much. What issues were you having with the eyes?
i get black eyes … Before I only had to apply a specular material to both cornea & eye moisture but it doesn’t work anymore
You're a king my friend !
Thank you Travis for such a gem, this tutorial solved tons of my problems man. thanks again
This is absolutely magnificent as a tutorial, super clear and focused and so much value I've learned in just this one video. I can't thank you enough!
Thank you so much Pro, it makes me so happy to read feedback like this. It's only my pleasure.
I love your in depth breakdowns!
AN other Gem, Travis! And btw I wasn't aware Octane could read mp4 as texture, I only knew about image sequences, thanks!

Yeah both Collada and FBX are not perfect BUT I find FBX to give me too many problems, especially with Daz Studio characters.
Thanks for the video!
and 0:45 Wrong Chloe, you are using Merade's conversion of Chloe, not Guhzcoituz's.
masterpiece
You are the best! Thank you!
My pleasure, was going to mention 30:58 where I used a subdivision surface modifier to fix that :)
Thanks Man! Amazing!

is it possible to bring character into Cinema 4d then do facial and body animations with mocap? Or do you have to do them in Daz 3d first?
