    No surprise that Billy had these phenomenal musicians playing with him. Billy was a legend here in L.A. when he was in young teens, playing at churches around the city. My cousin was the guitarist in the recording of Outta Space, David T. Walker.

      @@JakaliaNo, he did the studio recording. The record released to the public, when it came out. But he and Billy did lots of studio work together. If you Google their names together, you'll find several of Billy's albums he worked on. They became L.A. friends in the early 60s.

      I just want to be clear that, my cousin, David T. Walker, played on the studio made version that was released as a single, and became a hit. This Guitarist is not David T. This guitar player is a bad mofo though! Bravo!

    Jimi comes back to life....Underrated guitarist for damn sure. John Entwistle lives on though this Bassist. Drummer is tight John Bohnam is back!! And Billy humble as always, steps aside to showcase his band mates.. Most excellent, outstanding musicianship! RIP Billy you were the best.. The fifth Beatle. Always and forever.

    A good lil' jam..re: the previous comments, keep in mind that this vid is early 90s vintage and (the live break in)Jungle Love..and Eddie Van Halen..had already been around for quite some time..although Jungle Love did cop the chord progression when first recorded. Kickass band nonetheless. Miss ya, Billy.

    It's nice to see videos with dates on, as much of UA-cam is effectively a modern day library of history. When was this? It looks early '90s, though has the DX7 (several years old and a bit dated-sounding by then), but Billy looks about his mid 40s or so (1991 onwards). I also don't remember a time when Robert Palmer was an awesome black guitarist :D

      Half got it, this gig was in 1990 (or '92 according to another source). He obviously had a way with that slightly dated synth!

    Lick-wise, that bass solo isn't too tough. It's the attitude with which it is played, and the solid backing of the drummer that make it so stratospheric.

    • @tommyswenumson1739
      @tommyswenumson1739 3 роки тому

      They are playing Outa Space. They’re jamming and riffing off it. Improvising. And what does being young have to do with any of this? Im most certainly SIGNIFICANTLY younger than you and yet I could identify the basic skeleton of the Outa Space rhythm being played here, albeit very different from the studio version of the song.
